MD - Suspect's Weapon Falls & Discharges During Arrest by Baltimore Police

I don't care for Tobin's explanation of his reporting. Then to add if he saw the same incident in a few hours he'd most likely come to the same conclusion? IMO, I'd think he would be more concerned with actual facts than assumptions.

I just played a scene in my mind where that mother took her young boy out of the riot area, only in my mind she was correcting Tobin, not her son.

They were being overly cautious, IMO

That's why there has to be an investigation into the evidence.

Gotta give props to Chris Hayes for defending Fox:

If you saw a man running, pursued by police, heard a loud gunshot and saw him drop, your mind would very likely register "shot by police"

What happened to the "eye witness" that observed LE shoot the guy in the back?

I do understand the negative feelings of those who posted about the media and the manner that this case was covered. I get it and I do agree that sometimes MSM makes me want to pitch my television out on our front lawn.

I appreciate those who gave their links and opinions regarding MSM.

However, in this case, (considering the climate in Baltimore), I feel that the focus of negativity should be on the alleged criminal that ran from LE and was carrying an alleged illegal handgun. That's just me though, FWIW, IMO and all that jazz...

One thing I know for certain; I feel horrible for those police officers. You couldn't pay me enough to do that job.

What I would like to see........ Baltimore is said to be very racially mixed. Yet to watch news media, the department appears 'white'. I would like to see some family of black officers interviewed. They could ask them about what they know about conditions on the force. I would like people interviewed on the street to be asked about black officers. I would like to see some crime victims interviewed. To keep interviewing the persons wandering around the area during high tension time periods you get a very biased view of the force.

WWIII mom was interviewed on CNN tonight aand I found it interesting that her daughter is trying to get on the police force.

God bless those cops willing to work there.

Disturbing 7 min vid at link. Disturbing in multiple ways --
--- ppl confronting LE, yelling & cursing, swarming, mobbing, no room for ambu.
--- ppl recording events, repeating untruths ~ BPD shot a man in the back, letting him die on sidewalk. Tweet this out, tell everybody to come to [intersection],etc.

IDK what actually happened, but AFAIK, BPD is accurately saying - man was not shot.
Yet many inaccuracies, half-truths, exaggerations, and outright lies circulated by SM.
Bad enough when MSM jumps to conclusions, inadvertently broadcasts inaccurate stories.
At least MSM generally exercises some restraint re rumors. SM, not a bit.

Also seemed like a lot of ppl on the street there on a business day and school day afternoon.

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/video/video-shows-tense-scene-baltimore-211229098.html

That video clearly illustrates the danger cops face every day, especially in situations where large groups of hostiles pour out of buildings and surround them before LE reinforcements have arrived. Reports say this was the same area where FG operated and was arrested, so even more reason for those cops to be terrified and overreact, especially to aggressive young males shouting insults in their face as the crowd swelled and swarmed around them, ... but they somehow remained calm.

what i don't understand is why the police commissioner isn't screaming from the rooftops that we've got to flood the high crime areas with l/e. imo he holds accountability for what his officers have to deal with.

Here is a photo of the gun:

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CEMPEERWMAAEAWo.jpg:large

It is at the feet of the officer

It appears that the gun is a single action type of revolver. If it's an older gun it should be loaded with only 5 rounds with the hammer down on the empty chamber. Older single actions have no firing pin safeties.

Some modern single actions have been designed to be safely carried with the hammer down over a loaded chamber—notably the post-1973 Rugers—but in cowboy action shooting the hammer must be on an empty chamber regardless of whether the particular revolver is safe to carry with a full boat. This technique—load one, skip one, load the remaining chambers and come to full 🤬🤬🤬🤬, then lower the hammer on an empty chamber—will work for any single-action revolver, regardless if it is a five-, six- or eight- or nine-shot cylinder.

I doubt that the miscreant who dropped the gun knows how to safely carry it. JMO.

the comments are unbelievable  there's a way bigger problem of citizens' perspective of alleged criminals.

Yeah, I started to make a comment and then figured there is no point. Not gonna change a criminal/entitlement mindset.

The older woman at the hospital id'd as his mother yesterday answered the question, "Has he been arrested before?" with "Oh, yeah. All the time." He should be facing a reckless endangerment charge at least. And it's illegal to carry a hand gun in Baltimore, unless you have a permit, it's unloaded, it's secured into a locked case, and you're carrying it between the place you live to a place you own (residence/business).

People post stuff from court clerks all the time, so I am sure it is fine.

He has seven charges from yesterday's arrest. Count 001,002 and 003 are all for illegal possession of a firearm. Count 004 release endangerment. Count 005 handgun on person. Count 6 illegal possession of ammunition. Count 7 discharge of a firearm.
Interesting that her has three counts of possession of a firearm from yesterday.
I guess his mom now knows why he was crying. It's going to ne a long time till he gets out of prison.
