Ayla gets up once or twice a night for a diaper change and a bottle.

On NG right now.

TR saying that Ayla does not, in her experience, sleep through the night. Doesn't surprise me. I didn't sleep through a single night until I was 8. NG also saying that it makes no sense that the child would sleep through the night at that age.

Ayla's father waited 24 hours before he brought Ayla to the emergency room to have her arm checked out. :furious:

OK TR saying that JD waited almost 24 hrs to take Ayla to the ER when she broke her arm. I think I just had a freaking aneurysm.

Ah Marc Klaas is on. He's so tactful..."This is very troubling."

Yep, and Nancy Grace stated that she still gets up three or four times a night with her four year old twins..............:waitasec:OK.

:censored: my thoughts.

Mark K saying we need to look to a much smaller population of suspects given the fact she has a cast on and would be visible if she wandered off.

BBM: Nothing ... Nada ... Zip ... from Ayla's "father".

IMO ... "hinky" ...

:waitasec: And the baby was wearing pajamas with the words "Daddy's Princess" on it ...

:waitasec: MOO ... my "hinky meter" is rising by the minute ...

MOO ...

Yup. I am right there with ya.

They are looking in the attic (?!) - per Holly Hughes (HH). Police have tracked down & interviewed all who were in the home on Friday night.

Oh Alexis, find another show to go on! :banghead:

Sorry if this has been answered before. I am map-impaired. :blushing: The "park" that has been referred to, is that located between the school and Oak Grove Center, or behind the Lutheran church?

Jane, I haven't seen anything that clarifies where they searched, other than along the banks of the Messalonskee. There are mostly houses between Waterville HS (corner of Messalonskee and Highland to the NW of Ayla's father's home on Violette) and the Oak Grove Center (Cool St. at the corner of Mathews, one block north of the Violette home).

What you may be thinking is a school, is the apartment complex/block on Mathews that has the baseball diamond to the west of it. To the east of that apartment complex, between it and Oak Grove, there is a stand of trees but I wouldn't call it a park, and I do not know if that is where they searched.

The other potential area you noted, behind Resurrection Lutheran near where Cool St. meets Thrushwood Park Dr., backs up to a preserve in an oxbow of the Messalonskee stream. There are trails through that area (visible on the Google map), and IMO that may well be where they were searching today. (ETA: further sleuthing indicates to me that yes, this is called "Thrushwood Park" at least locally, FWIW.)

HTH!

Ayla was sleeping in a toddler bed at her father's place.

Fmr detective (?) referencing the NISMARC/K study, saying that there are very few stereotypical stranger abductions (meaning non-custody). (Sorry, I do know the study, I just forget the acronym.)

Also, per TR, Ayla has learned not to wander outside without an adult.

Could this man have sold this baby? Were the guests there to pick her up? I'm just thinking outloud.

Alexis stated on the show that the father's house is a two story house. It doesn't look like a two story house to me; thoughts anyone?

  • #536
I thought I read that Ayla's grandmother and aunt and little cousin lived in the home with her too. Does anyone know if that is correct? I would have hoped that would have helped keep her safe, but I guess not.

It does help. Thanks! You are right. I thought that the place was a school based on the name of the road that seemed to lead to it. :P I see now that you are right, thanks for clearing that up for me.

i can't be sure but i believe at first she said it was a single story home, and then after they started talking about the attic, she misspoke and said "two story"

Not sure that the grandparents lived there, but I believe I heard that they were at the gathering on Friday night. One of the neighbors referred to another woman and a child, possibly younger than Ayla, who either lived in the same house as JD or stayed there a lot. Someone above posted that maybe that was JD's sister and her child, I think, but I don't know that that's confirmed.

In thinking about it, there really has been very little info on the searches.

I think this is a small PD jurisdiction and the Chief spent 10 mins (imo) thanking all the Official help they were getting.

Does make me wonder from the lack of info on the searches that they are more focused on the house.
