As the father of a missing child, I would EXPECT him to make accusations of who he feels is responsible so that police can follow up on his suspicions. The bolded part could take a very long time, IMO. The way he has worded this makes me think he is NOT being cooperative with police.

But why would he make these accusations public? Maybe the father is just following LE lead & remaining out of the way & quiet.

LE has repeatedly reported that both parents are cooperating . . .

The only thing that scares me more than I already was for Ayla is the petition for paternity determination...if the father caught wind of that and had reason to believe that Ayla wasn't his...That, to me, is terrifying.

I have a feeling that the paperwork listed above is what she actually filed on Friday, as opposed to a full petition for sole custody. MOO.

What? Is there a link that supports the mother had petitioned for a paternity determination? Or is this just speculation . . . .

BBM

I have no problem with that, something seems off to me about the mom going on all these shows but it doesn't seem (to me) that the main focus should be her daughter. She could still have suspicions, and voice them, but she could also be wrong. The main focus should be finding her daughter.

I understand where you are coming from. But you have to understand that if TR truly believes that JD did something with Ayla, then that's what she thinks she is doing when she says things like (paraphrasing) if he did something he just needs to tell her. He's not talking to her, so I suppose that's how she feels she can get her message to him.

I hope that today will be Ayla's day!

That scenario is a good one except for the fact that the father already has custody, and with the mother being homeless and fresh out of rehab, chances are she'd lose. She'd have to became employed to have a chance unless he's abusing the little girl. She'd have to pay child support herself if she loses - which might actually be the case if he has full custody.

I'd venture to guess that's what this mother was wanting when she filed for custody is child support, otherwise she would not be living in a hotel room with a baby and no job. She'd have her baby. Am I judging? Yeah, women should stop having sex with men they don't know and having babies they can't afford because they are broke from buying whatever "substance" they're doing that lands them in rehab -- there are enough missing, dead, and broken kids out there because people have kids for the wrong reasons or just because they're careless. Of course I'm not talking about ALL parents of missing, abducted, or murdered children. 4 to 5 die by their parents hands every year....1 per year is too many.

Frayedknot gave an excellent analogy when she retold the story of King Solomon and the two women upthread. The one who loves the child for the right reasons should be the one with the child.

to the bolded above!

This man MOVED back to Waterville so he COULD take care of Ayla as per her mother's wishes -- she wanted him to be living with his mom while Ayla was in his charge, so he did.

I believe the father is working with LE otherwise, why would LE have released his statement under their guise? I care not that an atty could have wrote the statement, but I doubt it was since it's not grammatically correct (maybe it's how he read it).

Bring Ayla home

His statement doesn't differentiate between public and private accusations. I would assume that police would ask for a list of names of people who he would suspect may have taken his daughter. If he means he will not make public accusations then that is understandable and is expected IMO. Maybe he means he will not approach who he personally feels is responsible. I know LE has stated that the family has been cooperative. It is in my strong opinion that this is not random and this has everything to do with custody of Ayla.

Not speculation. There is a link on here on this thread I believe. There is a quote with this statement as well. I'll try to find it.

Krimecat: go to post #210 for the info and link about paternity of Ayla.

That would be great because I have not seen anything

Reynolds had filed a complaint against DiPietro for determination of paternity, parental rights and responsibilities and child support, according to documents obtained Monday from Cumberland County Superior Court in Portland.

I found it . . . http://www.onlinesentinel.com/news/No-arrests-in-missing-toddler-case.html

I wish there was clarification/confirmation on the text message allegedly sent re: worrying about someone taking the child...from Dad to Mom, is what I read upthread. If he really sent this prior to Friday, that is certainly very odd. Why would he think someone would take his child? Had someone paid her unusual attention? Did he think Mom might take her? Or was he planning ahead for an alibi of sorts?

Just a misc. thought, but if this sweet child is now living with her father in a home with a yard, it's likely she is playing outside more often than when she was staying in a hotel room. Hence some of the bruises? Additionally, dads tend to wrestle and play (yes, just play) with kids router than moms do...

I am not yet sure how I feel about the father's involvement, but the accusations re: bruising since being in his care do not set off alarm bells for me.

Of course, jmo!

I agree. The bruises don't really set off red flags to me. I know when my girls were that age and to present they always have bruises. It's not from being abused at all but from them playing and not paying attention to where they are walking. Doors and walls have a way of getting in there walking path.

Praying for Ayla to come home safe!

Search Intensifies for Missing Maine Girl Ayla Reynolds
--snipped--

--article & video @ link--

The Reynolds family was advised after meeting with Waterville police to return to their homes 75 miles to the south in Portland to let police conduct their investigation. Reynolds and her older sister, Jessica, were staying in a hotel Tuesday to keep away from the media frenzy.

"I'm watching my sister fall to pieces," Jessica Reynolds said. "I don't think she has any tears left to cry."

Trista Reynolds told The Associated Press that she and DiPietro never lived together as a couple. But Reynolds said a drinking problem prompted her to enter rehabilitation in Lewiston for 10 days in October; she said that although her mother and older sister cared for Ayla during that time, child welfare agents intervened to place the girl with DiPietro.

I don't understand all the questioning about the mother on Nancy Grace tonight. While she is young and has been to rehab, why focus on her when she obviously wasn't there?

And if police told the Mom's family not to come there and search, maybe they are just trying to keep a big family argument from arising in the middle of the investigation, since we know there are hard feelings on both sides.

LE took two cars away that belonged to the Daddy and were searching dumpsters in his neighborhood. I think they must have a scenario for what happened to this baby. She may have been handed off to someone, but not alive.
Thanks for the post, ThoughtFox!
I believe his car has a Marine decal, and the other car belongs to another female. I don't have the info. at my finger tips, but I believe that is what I read near the beginning of the case.
Not trying to be picky...just wondering who the other car belongs to...what was found in the car...and what this other person may have to do with Ayla's disappearance.:seeya:
