I noticed the large orange cat on Phoebe's lap. Was it an outdoor cat and was it let out that night? Thinking about reasons to open and close the door during the night.

Isn't the other child a little baby boy? Perhaps if it was a stranger-abduction it was someone who wanted a girl. Just tossing more hypotheticals out there.

It's a girl, according to this video

http://edition.cnn.com/video/?/video/crime/2012/01/07/candiotti-me-missing-girl.cnn

and this article
http://www.onlinesentinel.com/news/...wo-weeks_2012-01-06.html?pageType=mobile&id=1

DiPietro, 47, has owned 29 Violette Ave. since 1998. When Ayla was reported missing, DiPietro shared her home with son Justin DiPietro, 24, Ayla, daughter Elisha DiPietro, 23, and her infant daughter, whose name Phoebe DiPietro did want made public.

Someone asked about Christmas presents. In this article, the paternal grandmother is holding a red dress that was supposed to be given to Ayla for Christmas.

And two children's books. And looking at the books made her breakdown a little.

I'm sorry but your comment seems to be hinting in a not-so-round-about way that TR has been restrained somewhere. Since it seems you are saying she is unavailable beyond her control, please explain what you really mean.
Thank you

It was stated that mom was not ill and her withdrawal from the public eye has nothing to do with her own issues. Let's respect her need for privacy since she is not a suspect. Remember that WS is victim friendly and her child is missing. JMO.

That wasn't really the point, IMO. At WS we are not allowed to claim insider info unless we are verified in a particular case.

I guess it seems VERY ODD to me that mom has just 'disappeared' for some mysterious, "legitimate reason"? Her withdrawal has nothing to do with her 'issues' (alcohol or the fact her daughter is missing? Which issues?)

When DAD wasn't around - speculations were off the charts. Why all the sudden is mom disappearing ok? Does LE know where SHE is? Is SHE still cooperating with LE?

JMO.

Thanks for helping to explaining what I meant. If it was a privacy issue, if it is true that KR is somewhere beyond her control, and it is not that she is ill - then it must mean that she is being restrained. Is that not a privacy issue. It appeared that the the comments were made to imply having some insider knowledge about KR. If there is some dark secret being withheld from the public then it should have never been addressed in such an "unflattering" way. I believe that KR should be entitled to privacy but why even hint about her trouble in a secretive manner. This really troubles me.
IMHO

I agree that the little bit of tantalizing information should not have been put out there although I think the intent was good, not malicious. It may be that mom's other child is ill or another family member is ill. I do not want to speculate. We are suspicious because we are sleuths!
I have not been a fan of mom's media appearances, but I do not think she is a suspect and I think that she is entitled to privacy with other issues in her life. Just my opinion.

Thanks Donjeta! I caught that when I saw the children in the video inside the tumbler toy.

When I saw the 2 little girls falling all over each other in the tumbler toy I kind of got an idea where her bruises were coming from. I think she played hard with her little cousin, and also, Dad's let kids try things that mom's don't always let them try. My DH was all for letting the kids 'learn' to climb the stairs in spite of my protests.

Any update from the mods?

Not yet. I messaged the mod that was on here earlier. However, I will check back late tomorrow as I will be out of state for a number of days....so my disappearance will not be due to any "banning" ....lol. Thought I would put that out there now too!

I couldn't find my post to you saying you might want to ask the mods. I'm starting to think I did a no no. :innocent: But you are right, if you stopped posting all the sudden we would have all deduced you got in trouble. And probably started a thread on it ;)

There is something I'm confused about. In one video/article linked here earlier, Justin said that the specialist said Ayla's injury wasn't serious and he went on to say that the doctor put on a splint and ace bandage. He added that the doctor didn't even put on a cast or a SLING. Now I know I saw in earlier articles that she was said to have been wearing a sling, and some of the missing posters showed a picture of what the sling was like. So, did she have a sling or didn't she??? Or did the reporter make a mistake in reporting? Or did someone add the sling later for some reason?

With both babies sleeping in the same room, how do we KNOW that the abductor was after Ayla and not THE OTHER girl baby? Could the abductor have taken the wrong baby by accident? Its not like the kidnapper could bring the wrong baby back and make an exchange if he/she made a mistake and got the wrong baby. The person would have been sneaking in the bedroom and getting the baby in the dark it would seem, so would have to know where Ayla was sleeping to get the right baby. Unless it didn't matter which baby the person took.

I can understand why the grandmother said they became homeless on top of everything else. They only had the clothes on their backs--no changes of clothes or shoes, no personal items, no baby food, diapers, baby clothes and blankets for the sister's baby, maybe not even their money, credit cards, and checkbook. They didn't have their phones or computers. They went with nothing to stay with friends. Then 2 weeks later, they returned home to find the house a mess, dirty, things moved around. In addition to the baby missing, I think the 2 weeks out of the home would be terribly frustrating, and scary and a shock to return to the dirty, disorganized home. I would think the sister would worry about her baby being kidnapped from there too. Also, didn't the police also have their cars during some of the time they were out of the home, so they would be without their transportation too. It would be very stressful. I really think Justin and his mother had nothing to do with the baby disappearing.

Good points about taking Ayla versus the other toddler in the house. Why Ayla? Was she targeted? How long was Justin's sister living there with the baby? From the beginning? Maybe her baby was the intended target if this home was eyed for awhile by someone who wanted a child. JMO

I think that no matter what happened to Ayla, she was the target. This was in no way some random baby thief. Either harm befell her and is being covered up, or she was taken or hidden away in some kind of custodial misadventure. JMO of course but I think the chances of some stranger having taken Ayla = zero.
