Ayla's nickname is Buggie? That was my baby brother's nickname too.

As the pile of stuffed animals in front of the home where Ayla lived continues to grow, police are holding out hope the toddler known as "Buggie" will be found alive.

Elisha avoided the press today too. She refused to talk with us about what happened that night nearly two months ago. She repeatedly told us "no comment," before putting an infant in a car seat and driving away.

Did you see the new drywall at the 1:21 mark with Justin on a laptop? Where is that? Downstairs or up? I'll have to check for his mom's video where she lies about where she was to the reporter to see if any furniture are in the same room. Different angles though. Probably the original drywall was taken as evidence and semi repaired for now.

It appears to me right now to be upstairs from the video of Phoebe being interviewed.

Check the 17 second & 42 second mark. I don't think anyone has been in the basement. So it looks like there's been evidence taken from the wall upstairs too. Oh my.

ETA But Ayla is in that video. Must have been there already. Nevermind. I do wonder why it was repaired though, and is that towards the basement area?

i read the item pulled from the water was a backpack belonging to a hs student from 2006

Link please? TIA

ETA Sorry missed the post above with the link!

Why do I think it will be solved? Because this whole group of people - all of them - reeks of instability. All it will take is one big argument and one of them will spill. Plus, the cops know way more than we do and they are putting down their cards one at a time.

I am in full agreement. I have faith this will be solved, as well....just gut instinct.

I think if only one person knows where Ayla is, she will not be found. Someone else may tell what they know (although I don't believe they will) but they may not know all, and I can't see the person who took Ayla away confessing to anything. JMO

I wish I thought so, I get a whole Haleigh Cummings vibe from this case...

:seeya: I understand the Haleigh Cummings "vibe" also -- BUT --

The DIFFERENCE that I am seeing between Haleigh and Ayla case is that with Ayla there is clear evidence of a "Crime Scene" ...

:twocents: This is why I think this case will be solved :

- I think there is more than just this "blood evidence" in the basement ...

- McCausland / LE clearly stated that JD, ED and CR's statements "do not pass the straight-face test" ... they KNOW something about these 3 and it is NOT matching up to ALL the evidence / statements that they have collected from them so far ... :innocent: oh how I wish they would "share" the statements, the 9-1-1 call, phone records ...

- I think it is very telling that 2 of the AG's for the State of Maine paid a "visit" to the DiPietro home when the home was still under LE's control to view the evidence of the blood in the basement -- crime scene -- so that the prosecutors will have "all their ducks lined up" for indictments, charges, arrests ...

LE is very carefully and calculating the release of info, which is totally understandable in that they do not want to compromise the investigation ... LE is totally committed to finding Ayla and seeking justice for her ! God Bless them, and the divers who are diving into the freezing temp waters !

Oh -- and Phoebe ... What does she really KNOW ? Why the "change" in her "story" to the media ? IS she protecting anyone ? IS it possible that Phoebe IS on LE's "radar" and LE is NOT saying so -- KWIM ?

It may take a little more time, but I do think there will be a break in this case soon ... and maybe it will come from the G J ...

MOO ...

Interesting point:

That the grandma is not in the house the night Ayla goes missing, maybe to protect her especially if Ayla went missing earlier on than the 16th.

Maybe a way to keep the focus off grandma (PD)

Just thinking outside the box here. :waitasec:

But would you consider it "solved " if Ayla is not found? I fear she won't be and the case made, if at all, will have to be circumstantial and without a body...

yes I would consider it solved with no body, because, a body is just that--just a body. I would be saatisfied if dad was prosecuted for anything- neglect, falure to report an accident, obstruction, I just want someone to prove to me that someone is responsible for this-- even if it is a random alien abduction. Please someone prove to me something, the vanishing of a child should be a rare mystery!

In the judicial system's defense- I understand, there is really only one shot at a trial (unless you are Ryan Widmer (sorry, local joke))
and the police need to have their ducks in a row. I can't mind waiting.

that said.
I must admit I am nosey and want every detail of the investigationevery perps movement. I wish a reporter would stalk him like a vulture stalks an injured critter
...but deep deep down inside, I just want someone held accountable for something.

She was just a little girl. She had no motives, she wasn't here to hurt you, she deserves to be respected and given a good childhood. Its the only vacation we get in life, and every one born, deserves it.

Boy CincinnatiKate I understand your frustration. Everyday when I have a chance I check out backgrounds on suspects via mapping, available court documents, fb, google, myspace, bookings, prisons or federal prison info on many cases of missing children. It's frustrating, it's tedious, but you do find info somedays. MSM too. I encourage everyone to try it. Start with pipl.com there's so many more though. Go to state sites for court documents, look up statutes for what someone is charged with and find out exactly how severe the charge is, some days it's just disappointing the length of sentencing though. There's so much info in some cases but others are all quiet. I like free speech. Open it up. Perps are everywhere on the internet. Plus I don't care if it's a remorseful man from 30 years ago with a blip, make all register prior to 1994! If they were 18 with a 17 year old then we need to discern the facts. JMO

That said, yeah, arrest him. I'm pretty sure there's motive. I'd be happy if he was arrested for now. Let the rest fall in place. jmo

I apologize, I am not satisfied with arrested. I want prosecution. This case is too similar to another. I posted a link in the social media thread to a WS link to it--- It may take a year--be patient....

There's a good graphic at the bottom of one of the Morning Sentinel stories, comparing the locations of yesterday's search to previous searches. You'll find it waaaay at the bottom of the article, in the "additional photos" section under this story: Divers return to Ayla search.

"We know there's someone out there with information that could help us find Ayla,
He added that police still believe Justin and Elisha DiPietro and Courtney Roberts know more about Ayla's disappearance than they're sharing.
McCausland also confirmed that Ayla's paternal grandmother, Phoebe DiPietro, was not in the home the night before the toddler was reported missing. In early January, Phoebe DiPietro's whereabouts was a subject of controversy after she told a CNN reporter that she hadn't heard anything that night, but she later said she was not in the home. McCausland wouldn't say where she was, but said investigators confirmed she was at a different location.

I see shades of the Anthony case here. Who is covering for who??

I feel the same way. Arresting someone is not enough, because what if they're wrong? Sometimes LE can get more answers by letting the suspect walk around free. Once they're in custody, they lawyer up and you don't get ANY answers. I prefer for them to not rush towards arresting anybody until they have all the evidence they need to prosecute them.
They may have sufficient evidence that points to Ayla being dead.... but they need evidence that proves WHO did it.
Arresting someone doesn't produce answers, it doesn't scare the person into admitting anything, it just makes them clam up and refuse to cooperate.

Just thinking outside the box here. :waitasec:

Jumping in with some "outside the box" thinking about grandma's situation.

What if the house that she was staying at is the one across the street that was searched this past week. She was quoted early on saying something about there "not being a party at the house." She did not say where!

What if... there was a party at the "across the street house" and the three people from Ayla's house were there.....leaving the three children home alone and asleep!

What if... someone from the party realized this and went across the stree to #29, entered through an unlocked door and took Ayla!

What if... someone else in the neighborhood observed the children alone in the house and went in???

One other question about the situation...What is the sex of ED's and CR's children? Has that been made public?

If they are both boys...Then my crazy "What If"..or "SODDI" theory could have been the reason that Ayla was taken because she was the only girl in the house.

Just saying these "What If" ideas...Please do not jump on me for thinking that Justin and compay are innocent!!!!

I really feel that the DiPietro family and CR are all stonewalling the LE..and that they all know way more that they are telling!

Dear God...Please Bring Ayla Home To Her Family That Love Her!
