dog gone cute ~I agree that Ayla should not have been placed with Justin in that hasty manner. Somebody pushed hard to get that "hand her over to the policemen" situation. IMHO, that was a quick and dirty deal that got hammered through with no preparation or investigation. It needs to be fully investigated now, and if a few people used their official powers to push this through the system by sidestepping the normal custodial steps, they need to be punished. Ayla was doing fine with her grandma and aunt. Justin was not a constant figure in Ayla's life, helping support her, behaving like a loving father. If DCS was going by the "letter of the law", they ignored what was best for Ayla, and gave the poor frightened little toddler over to the sperm donor, without going through the court system and investigating JP, his joblessness, how he lived his carefree life without money, when was the last job he held, was he jobless to avoid paying child support.
Sure, he took a couse in a bus driving school, or something - but what were the odds of him gettig employment when he finished the course. It could be as time-consuming snd non-profitable as taking an agriculltural class in growing walnuts. First, you get some land, then you plant a tree, then you nurture that tree and guard it from pests, then you wait for years and years before your first crop, which you can sell from your truck by the roadside. Would that qualify him as gainfully employed? But hey, could he become an independent salesman? Lots of people have things to see, and need buyers.
