I haven't seen any follow up. I just checked around for an update and haven't found anything more recent than what's been posted.

Phsyical - No hair or eye color listed
Skeletal findings: Arthritis
Prior Surgery: tibial osteotomy
Circumstances: Hikers found partial skeletal remains alone with some clothing in a heavily wooded area on Leighton Rd Falmouth ME
DNA status: Sample available - not yet submitted
Dental info/charting is available and entered

Here is a copy of the hat the deceased was wearing as you can see from the vegetation it has been in the woods for quite a bit.

Height is a match-- both 68 inches. He was only 24, though and he had a cast on his arm when he was last seen. Could he have had arthritis or some medical condition making his remains seem like an older person?

This guy has to be on investigators' radar, it just too close. He is probably already ruled out for this set of remains, and as a result, is now in NamUs.
He is from the Portland area and went missing 03/24/2015, his family believing him to have gone to FL. Maybe he didn't?
Height, area, and clothing for the time he went missing fit.
DNA: Samples submitted - Tests not complete
He also has fingerprints, which won't help in this case, but if he turns up somewhere else, it might.
No dental.

Do you have a source for this info, please? We require a Mainstream Media source or something official from Law enforcement.

I can't find any official confirmation, but the NamUs link doesn't work anymore and I found an obituary for Peter Purington stating he passed away on April 8, 2018, in Falmouth, the day the skeletal remains were found.

His NamUs page is still down. The obituary I had linked above is not available anymore, but I found another one that states that he passed away on April 8, 2018 in Falmouth, Maine (same date and location as the UID). I know that it doesn't count as an official ID, though.

Re @Gardener1850 post from 2018 - all these years later I just wanted to add that Aryndel Castro's body has finally been discovered!
