GUILTY ME - Valerie Tieman, 34, Skowhegan, 30 Aug 2016

Can I add how much I despise the fact that perps will use the fact that they are a veteran to try & excuse their actions? (even in clips before she was found, LT was talking about he was airborne)-he was a sociopath before he joined the Army, imo, & he had people (his family) covering for him afterwards.

There are many veterans who have TBI & PTSD, & who keep their families together & move forward with their lives, & the idea that someone could use this as an excuse to murder his wife is so totally offensive to me, & I'm sure it's offensive to anyone he ever served with.

I would love to hear from someone who served with him, if only because it would confirm most of our suspicions, of his true intentions.

Valerie's funeral services were this weekend in two states:
Valerie Tieman’s funeral will be held at noon Saturday at Faith Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina. Visiting hours will be 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. that day. The state medical examiner’s office confirmed Tuesday that arrangements had been made for Tieman’s body to be taken to South Carolina.

Meanwhile, some of Valerie Tieman’s friends – Emily Rowden Fournier; her mother, Lyn Rowden; and her brother, Aaron Rowden – are organizing a memorial service scheduled for 6 p.m. Sunday at Fairfield United Methodist Church on U.S. Route 201. The service is open to the public.

Apologetic note was found with her body:

Her body was wrapped in a patterned blanket, buried in a shallow grave of freshly moved soil in the Fairfield woods.

Beneath the body of Valerie Tieman were a bag of potato chips, a bottle of perfume and a note that “reportedly has an apologetic tone.”

Those details have emerged from an autopsy report composed by the state Medical Examiner’s Office, obtained Monday by the Morning Sentinel under a public records request.

Valerie Tieman, 5-foot-9-inches tall and 123 pounds, had been shot twice, according to the autopsy report. She suffered a perforating gunshot wound of the head with an “indeterminate range entrance wound of the right parietal scalp” with an exit wound in the region of the right forehead, according to the autopsy report. She also suffered a “penetrating gunshot wound of the right posterior neck,” according to the autopsy.

From the article above. So he shot her, twice, from behind right? How in the world did this arrogant, evil a55 think he could tell them she died of an overdose???

This dude is nothing but f*cked up...

Maybe he had some sort of PTSD episode and shot her while he was out of his mind.

I'm not making excuses for him, just trying to guess why he apologized and so tenderly buried her (sort of). I mean, why chips and perfume? Her favorite things? I can see my family giving me a cannister of Pringles to take with me, so it's not entirely outrageous I suppose.

That will probably be his defense. But he made up very specific lies he will have to explain. PTSD doesn't account for the lies and misdirection he tried to pull off. IMO he was full of ego and thought he had the police fooled--he thought he would get away with it.

http://www.centralmaine.com/2017/02/21/fairfield-man-expected-to-stand-trial-in-murder-case-next-year/

A Fairfield man charged with murder in connection with the death of his wife is expected to face trial sometime next year, now that a key court deadline has passed for the state to deliver what it has for evidence in the case.

Luc Tieman, 33, is charged in the shooting death of Valerie Tieman, 34, and burying her body in his parents’ yard in Fairfield. Valerie Tieman’s body was found Sept. 20 wrapped in a blanket and buried in a shallow grave behind Tieman’s parents’ home on Norridgewock Road. Luc Tieman was arrested and charged with murder the following day.

While no trial date has been set, Tieman is likely to stand trial sometime in 2018, according to the man’s lawyer, Stephen Smith, of Augusta. He said there have been no court proceedings since Tieman pleaded not guilty to the murder charge Nov. 18, and Tieman remains held without bail at the Somerset County Jail in East Madison.

Luc Tieman in court over ‘involuntary’ statements related to wife’s slaying

http://www.centralmaine.com/2017/12/04/accused-wife-killer-luc-tieman-in-court-for-evidence-suppression-hearing/

Smith writes in his motion to suppress that Tieman was actually in police custody in September 2016 without the benefit of having been read his rights to remain silent under the Miranda rules when he spoke to police. What he is alleged to have said should be suppressed “as involuntarily obtained” in violation of Miranda, Smith wrote.

According to a court affidavit filed by Detective Hugh Landry and cited in Smith’s motion to suppress: “Luc initially denied any knowledge of the body, then changed his statement,” saying that Valerie had a drug addiction and that he witnessed her overdose and die.

Smith contends that Luc Tieman made the statements to multiple police officers in what “a reasonable person” would perceive to constitute police custody.

Prosecution opens Luc Tieman trial asserting gunshots killed his wife

It wasn’t heroin that killed 34-year-old Valerie Tieman in 2016, as her husband, Luc, claims; it was two shots from a semi-automatic pistol found by police in Luc Tieman’s parents’ home in Fairfield.

That assertion was part of opening statements by Assistant Attorney General Leanne Robbin on Monday, the first day of Luc Tieman’s murder trial.

“That’s a very fine story, but it’s only a story,” Tieman’s defense attorney, Stephen Smith, told the jury of eight men and six women, including two alternates. “Each story is like a brick in a brick wall — you will find him not guilty” when the wall is complete.

Slain Fairfield woman’s mom testifies daughter’s last words to her were ‘Happy Birthday’

The last time Sarajean Harmon spoke to her daughter, Valerie Tieman of Fairfield, was on Aug. 10, 2016.

“She told me she loved me and wished me a happy birthday,” Harmon, of Taylors, South Carolina, testified Monday at the start of her son-in-law’s murder trial.

Two weeks after that call, on Aug. 25, 2016, Harmon called her daughter to see if she’d called her brother on his birthday, but Valerie Tieman didn’t answer. She also didn’t respond to messages on Facebook. Two days later, Harmon’s son-in-law, Luc Tieman, told her in a text message that he and Valerie were “good. Love her so much.”

So happy there is justice for Valerie.

Luc testifying and giving his own closing argument was surprising.
