Thanks. I was sucked into the Brad Cooper trial and guess what, I think there was some monkey business in judicial decisions. I guess that's what others are seeing in this particular case. I don't disagree with the Cooper verdict, but I think that if everything had been above board, there could have been a not guilty verdict.

In any case, lots of interesting developments with the appeal. What are the odds that there will be an extension on the report deadline?

From all I know of Sfarzo and of Mignini, the former had no reason to fabricate anything about the latter. Clearly, it is in Frank's best interest to stick to the facts, and he is fully aware of this. He is not a 20 year old girl under interrogation. Mignini was, after all, sentenced to 16 months in prison for breaking the law. He has shown that his boundaries are not as clear as many in law enforcement. Indeed, he has the "make it so" protocol of a man with great power, power which may have a corrupting influence on he who possesses it. I am not going to believe that Sfarzo has lied unless it is proven so.

I think Frank will have every opportunity to explain why he accused the prosecutor of having ties to drug dealers in court. If he can't support his claims, he faces the same consequences Amanda faced for lying about Patrick: jail and a hefty fine.

Well, let's just hope this is not a case of a man telling the truth, but unable to prove it - after all, who is going to admit to this in court? - and winds up another innocenti in the Perugia jail.

I would think it may cause trouble for IIP, as it was a high court order which Google acted upon.

I could see this backfiring on Frank. He has copyright on the contents of his website. If he has given permission to someone to copy and use all his writings, that will most likely present problems for Frank (violation of court order). If some well-intentioned person has grabbed all his information and reposted it without copyright permission, then Frank is the one that has to deal with it.

Mignini is not a druggie. Whether or not he is willing to make use of drug kingpins for his own ends remains to be seen.

I think the deadline will almost certainly be extended.

I think that under the circumstances this website might want to distance itself from posting links to information authored by Frank since his site has been shut down through court order.

As for the information comming out and the consequences with respect to the Perugia Shock being taken down, I think we truly have to wait for more information to come out and the dust to settle a bit

It is very possible that it could make things worse but it appears he was expecting this as he obviously saved the files that he uploaded to his server

As I read his blog often I have never recalled anything there indicating that Mignini was taking drugs.

That being said there has been speculation that maybe deals had been cut with witnesses with drug connections (I do know that you state they are unable to cut deals) but it sure seems that something funky has been going on but that is MOO

I was watching a program called "Solved" yesterday that dealt with a murder in Edmond, OK, that was only solved after 20 years because the killer left a very clear footprint in blood at the crime scene, a print that was matched to him decades later.

What struck me was the testimony from the forensic techs on how rare footprint evidence is. The scientist who broke the case talked about how he hadn't seen a case that hinged on bare footprints in his 15 years in his profession.

He said shoeprints were common, bare footprints practically unheard of.

He even had to invent a methodology in order to compare the bloody footprint with one taken from the killer 20 years later.

All of which made me wonder how reliable are the testimonies re footprints in the Perugia case? If bare footprints are as unusual in Italy as they are here, did the "experts" really even have the knowledge necessary to make the matches they made?

If it's only a statement about Mig being a drug dealer, then there should be no problem with the rest of the articles. Not sure why the whole site had to be pulled over one alleged statement about mig being a drug dealer. Any articles that are libel should be pulled, but I don't see why the whole site or any other articles in the site that do not make statements about Mig can't still be posted.

I guess Frank accused the prosecutor of having drug ties. I guess that's a bit of a problem in Italy - falsely accusing a prosecutor of being having ties to the drug world, or falsely accusing a bar owner of being a murderer. I'm surprised anyone thinks that it's okay to falsely accuse innocent people of being criminals.
