A bit OT - remember the scene in the movie Bridget Jone's Diary where she is with her BF, and feels embarrassed because she is wearing her large granny style knickers - much to her surprise, her BF says he likes them...

That started a trend for time:
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/enterta...so-hot-right-now/story-e6frf8o6-1226038081327

The key point is IMO, not what style underwear she purchased, but as the article stated, "We went to buy underwear because all of Amanda's things were sequestered [by the police]. Everything that was said about it is wrong. My comment was just a comment in jest. "
Showing how things can get twisted and turned against the unwary..

I find it amazing that this is not considered by some to be of importance and they only concentrate on the lingerie aspect when in fact she did not have any other clothing changes, toothbrush, or other items that I would deem necessary.

It is very obvious for anyone that has ever had their luggage lost by an airline that the first thing you do is go out and purchase these items and that is considered acceptable but not acceptable for AK

Stay, ohio. Have a drink!

Yes ohio please stay, here is a designer straight jacket for you. I made special pockets to hold your drink for you :giggle:

Given the stupidity of ILE's forensic experts, I have no idea whether Sollecito's DNA was actually on that clasp.

I'll have to wait until the clasp is retested--oh, no, wait...

Maybe they can test the water it was stored in :giggle:

I didn't have my first suit until I was 25, and my girlfriend's mother had to buy it for me. This was years after college.

As well at 20 few would be at the graduation point. I will also point out that not every degree program goes on a "practicum". Suits would not be the PROPER attire if going into a MEDICAL area of study. Lets also not forget that most students simply do not have the finances to purchase these "suits" thus to state that all would have them is simply unrealistic attitude

And this is Frank's conclusion: :waitasec:

Amanda knows what happened, she knows why she was screaming, she knows that the problem is not in Rome, not in a lab. Amanda needs America now, after Italy, to do something; she needs the Embassy to move, for real. It’s really not time for being diplomatic. Not anymore.

JMO

I think that if you look at what Frank is saying is that there is corruption but it is not just with MG or with respect to AK and RS and that they need someone to clean it up as per the following:

"Indeed it doesn’t look like anything unusual for them. They are so used to people screaming, while they are in their hands; it’s such a daily occurrence for them, that they can even confess it in a trial! I was beaten, insulted and threaten, Amanda said. They said that it’s not true, but that’s when people scream: when they are beaten, insulted, threaten, stressed, contradicted by a group of yelling people, attacked by a pack"

"Others, instead, can’t say anything because they died in the hands of the police. And what their death is? A natural event? (because, of course, healthy young people always die by heart attack) Or another confirmation of Amanda’s version?"

Right, but it is in an appeal process now (as Mignini's conviction is also currently on appeal) and those who support Knox and Sollecito of course believe that they were not involved in the murder. As far as the clothes: They both look better now, and it is over and done with.

Perhaps you haven't noticed, but pretty much everything from the trial has been rehashed a few times. Is there any particular reason to exclude Amanda's attitude, Raffaele's computer, that odd water spill, the ever changing dinner hour and so much more from that rehashing?

Off topic, but directly ON TOPIC.

Here's a 48 hours show about another wrongly convicted person. I thought it was interesting because it started to unravel over some "footprints" that were not properly tested and wound up not belonging to the accused.

Also kind of relates to this case because those in charge of the investigation seemed to have a vendetta against the accused."All those conspiracy theories...some are true...

other commonalities, he knew the victim, he'd found her body, and they focused on him from practically day one. oh and he put in a guilty plea after they said they'd give five years. He retracted it when they retracted the 5 years.

Slander (stemming from Ms. Knox’s accusation against Patrick Lumumba ; possible sentence: 6 – 20 years) ;

Wow, up to 20 years for slander.

Knox was given one additional year for her statements about Lumumba.

If it's comparisons we're looking at, 6-20 in Italy for slander but it could be only 1 year. In the US, death for 1st degree murder and in most other Westernized countries 7-25 years.

If you're looking for people to agree there are problems with the U.S. judicial system, I believe SMK, Allusonz and I (plus others no doubt) have done so.

Certainly, in my view the death penalty is the worst aspect of our system.

So does anyone think this is going to amount to anything, or is it just a gesture?:waitasec:

The second development involves a letter to the President of the United States and copied to all members of congress that also requests an investigation, this time of the failure of the U.S. consular officials to fulfill their obligations to safeguard the rights of Amanda Knox under Italian law. We are co-signers of that letter, along with Michael Heavey and Thomas Wright. Details regarding these letters are being released through other outlets. The following article is intended to provide additional information in a less formal format.

I don't want to ignore your post, SMK, but honestly I have no idea. Maybe somebody else understands how international relations can affect law enforcement.

I don't think too much of anything happens nationally or internationally without a HUGE to-do in the press first. That's what they are doing now, trying to create the huge to-do, so the press will pick up on it. A bunch of media attention usually pressures congress.

Oh, I understand, no problem - I just hope there is nothing in all this which could make things worse (make the independent panel feel antagonized or pressured and consequently angry or defiant)....just wonder about the wisdom of the timing.....

I was reading Raf's appeal, and I didn't know that it was the defense who originally discovered the semen stains.

They discovered them in the fall of 2009 and the court refused to test them. You guys know why, but of course it's absurd to:
1. refuse to test stains in a sexual assault case.
2. say the victim was sexually active with her bf and would therefore sleep on semen stained pillow cases for days.
3. make the above statement in light of the fact that the stained substance is also dried into RG's bloody footprint.
4. Say that the sperm cannot be dated due to MK's sex life, but then turn around and say that "RS'S" alleged DNA on the bra clasp is admissible though it cannot be dated, either.

The defense thinks it might lend credence to the jail house informant's story that RG said he and his friend were there, and the friend murdered MK.

If a dot of DNA on a bra clasp is all it takes to remove RS from society, then semen stains belonging to a new suspect should be enough to cast reasonable doubt to bra contamination and to AK and RS's presence.

It still makes zero sense that RS and AK would aid anyone in forcing sex out of MK.

I don't see why they couldn't test the sperm against RS, RG, and MK's bF. And ask the BF when he and MK last had sex. Did they ask him that at least? the appeal does not say.

From the sound of the appeal, but it's hard to make out in translation, a man Caesar, overheard Alessi and RG when RG told his story.

3. It must be added that the letter of 27 January 2010 was signed only by
Alessi, also held by the other three just mentioned (M. Castelluccio, C. and A. Trinca
De Cesare). At the bottom of the letter sent by Alessi February 14, 2010, Antonio De
Caesar (another subscriber) said he had heard while Rudy
Alessi told what happened the night of the murder, thereby confirming the
version provided by Alessi.

Toward the end of 2010, it would make sense that RG was running his mouth about them in prison about that same time. It was Nov 24th 2010, right, when AK and RS were convicted?

It was December 4, 2009. http://jezebel.com/5419290/breaking-amanda-knox-found-guilty-on-all-counts-sentenced-to-26-years-in-prison

Oh I think the beginning of the appeal was Nov 24, 2010 or somewhere around there. I got my dates confused. There goes that theory about RG being chatty after conviction.

Thanks!

Still I hope I read it right and this Caesar person also heard it come out of RG's mouth.

This next thing, I don't understand at all, so anyone who knows what they are referring to, let me know.

Also in RAF'S APPEAL:

From what I can understand, they are contending that RAF was disallowed access or had delayed access to counsel. From what I can glean from the document they are saying that the court apparently recognized this but did not provide documentation validating the reason for it. Apparently, without detailed reasoning and a "good excuse" for it, it's illegal. This is about 30 or so pages into the appeal.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/15HcqNZWrCPMyMfOBfHMuVpOmcFrteW82Xh5Fw-gmlWs/edit?hl=en_US

Someone please help me to understand this.
