I've asked different pro-innocent posters on different forums to try to ask BF (IIP) or Charlie W (JREF) since they claimed to have almost everything regarding the case. I believe I asked Malkmus either here or on IS. Is that what you are asking?
dgfred - what supporters are you talking about? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Salem
I'm just guessing. The bars were put on after the murder, yes, but the guy doing the climbing also climbed after the murder. Question is, were the bars up or not? I vote yes!
Re: her attitude (more in response to those who have answered below.) I don't have a problem with her answering the questions in full. I've seen the transcript, and I thought the typed version of the answers were appropriate. It's really her mannerisms that bug me. I interpret this behavior as immature petulance.
It doesn't make me think she's guilty, but it's not behavior I like. I think it would be fine to be angry, but at all times it is important to remember that you are on trial for murder, and every moment should be taken seriously. She can be angry with the line of questions, but dismissive and annoyed is not a good attitude to convey. That's just my opinion, and I don't even know if this is the attitude she intended to convey.
I was surpised when Nina described the city as drug ridden with needles seemingly laying around everywhere. And she made it sound crime ridden, too. So I was surprised that AK's or MK's parents agreed to that city after reading that.
Malkmus, from what I understand that drug dealer stuff is all written in that article or articles at the time in language that sounds very 3rd or even 4th hand for knowledge. It sounded like there was a lot of speculation about what the number in AK's phone "could" mean. But I tell you right now, if someone in my phone is a drug dealer, I do not know it. So....I have to give AK the same benefit of the doubt.
Even if she did know it, the article "speculates" that there was a call between in them 'in the days prior' and sometime 'after' the murder. So that begs the question of how many days prior? As for after, if her calls were monitored, the police didn't get anything juicy out of it and didn't see her meeting this dealer between the 2nd and the 5th. Additionally, I think it's perfectly normal IF the guy called her. After all, her roommate was just murdered. Maybe he wanted the scoop, the 4-11, maybe he wanted to tell her to get his number off her friggin phone before he got arrested for selling drugs. Maybe he wanted to tell her "you dont know me" since he realized she was being questioned by the cops.
I'm guessing, but with confidence, that she wasn't trying to score no drugs during her 50 some odd hours of questioning and waiting around at the police station.
The article also speculates that he "would" or "could" have been one of AK's lovers. Well, if he was, then his name is on that gang of 7 in the diary. And that's IF he was one of her lovers.
It's possible she knew he dealt drugs and she bought weed from him. It's logical, that if she and RS were getting high on the night of the murder as they said, that they met HIM and bought drugs, and that's the part of their night they DO NOT want to tell police.
Doesn't mean they then went to the cottage with RS's kitchen knife to grind up some weed and kill MK, though. I think it's totally understandable that they wouldn't want to give up their drug dealer and so they leave a meeting with him out during questioning. We know AK lied to them about even doing weed, because she was scared to get arrested for that. That's logical, too. Not saying right, but I might have lied about that, too, if I knew I wasn't the killer and I didn't want to go to jail for smoking weed and being on the buying end of a drug deal.
However, if he was sentenced this year for doing drugs, then I'd be outing him like crazy at this point. But maybe--if my guessing is true--the lawyers said it would look bad to suddenly come forward talking about a meeting with the dealer that night to buy weed. For one, if it's true, it would support a drug-fueled murder theory. For two, if the dealer corroberated that he met them somewhere, it would be just as circumspect this late in the game as RG suddenly remembering hearing AK's voice.
One thing we probably know for certain is that she and this drug dealer did NOT talk on the phone the night of the murder or he probably would have been hauled in just like PL was. So if she met up with him, she just met him by chance on the street, as some theories allege she did with RG.
I think this drug dealer story died because it's a dead end story, just like the bleach receipts, just like the satanic ritual, just like the holding the mop, just like RS calling the police "After" the PP arrived.
To know if bars were on the windows at the time of the demonstration, we'd have to know when the demonstration was done. It's possible that the bars were there if the demonstration was done say a year after the murder. I know that doesn't help pinpoint a time, but I am assuming the demonstration was NOT done before the two break-ins.
Here are some links to AK's testimony... ouch!
Part 1
Part 2
Why ouch? The lawyers did more arguing than her speaking

Yes! I always felt (especially being the old-school geezer that I am) that this was a terrible situation - a crime just waiting to happen! Were all/any/none of the boys students?
Well telling contradicting stories and making contradicting statements is one way to turn the jury against you. Here she is vs Patrick's lawyer.

If you read some of her other testimony... she rarely answers the question that was asked instead going off on tangents and talking about other things she wants to bring to their attention. Several times the judge has to tell her to answer the question asked.
Interesting... I'd like to hear more about this. Do you know how soon before/after the murder he was called?
Of course, he could just be a friend. I know people who deal/have dealt but did not know them in that capacity.
But you are assuming RG had obvious reasons for wanting a large sum of money quickly and AK and RS didn't. There are other possibilities IMO.
Could RS's allowance/account have been low?
Could they have been trying to make a drug deal?
Could AK have taken the money, and RS knew nothing about it?
Could AK have taken the money for a fast deal, planning to put it back asap?
Maybe she couldn't get to the ATM quickly enough or didn't want to make another large withdrawal. If she/they were already plastered, her/their decision making might not have been as sharp as usual.
Could AK have taken the money as a prank/joke... never meaning to keep it?
Could AK have taken the money only as part of the staging... to make it look as if a thief had broken in and taken it?
Etc...
How would RG know about the collected rent money?
Could AK and RS needed immediate cash for drugs? IIRC his allowance was gone and AK hadn't been paid for work yet. AK would have known exactly where the money was kept IMO. RG claimed Meredith found her money missing and blamed AK. What is taken as truth from him is cherry-picked IMO according to who is doing the arguing.
Only if I don't have to look up some showing instant rage murders, unplanned murders, no-motive murders, or murders that escalated from a fight.
My understanding is that this was a rumour and went no further
The new bars where on during the demonstration. RG had done this before at the lawyers with the old type of bars same scenerio, 2nd floor, rock climb etc
The recreation was done after the new bars were put on, after the 2 break ins, and yes the lawyer that climbed this actually made it through the window. IIRC that is cited on Dempseys blog
