My daughter was saying she wanted to go for a vacation. I told her she should be ok if she stayed on the resort. But apparently that's not safe either.

Yeah. My husband and I went to Rivera Maya for our honeymoon 6 years ago. I’m never going back to Mexico lol. It was super scary just driving in the cab from the airport to the resort.

I've been to Mexico at least a half dozen times BUT never ever again.

:fainted:

I feel for anyone who actually bought vacation property down there. (I know some people)

I say, good luck with that.

:scared:

my brother was on leave from the military on his new motorcycle and was killed by a bus driver in a hit and run in Acapulco many years ago and I vowed never to go. Commercial bus driver - hit and run - witnessed by one amazing local man who wrote my family a letter I still can not read. (I think this might be the most I have ever revealed about myself on WS lol...)

Now I live in Arizona, where Rocky Point is the go-to vacation spot from here. But not me, never, ever, never. Never. Ever.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Was the bus driver convicted?

Sorry, I did not mean at all to make this about me, but no, the driver "ran" (i.e., continued driving his bus) from the scene, never apprehended. And not like we could do much from the states back then. All we had was the account from the man who witnessed it. Thanks for the kind words. It's been 30 years and sadly, it never ever gets easier, as they say... That was my big brother.

This makes me sick. I’m so sorry for you.
