FWIW, in an earlier post I spoke of how my son and his family regularly visited his wife's inlaws in Metamoris. He'd told me previously that Metamoris was safe.....................He told me tonite that they are no longer going to go to Metamoris until things get better. Even his BIL and SIL and their family, who have a beautiful home in Metamoris, not to mention lots of relatives, have moved over to their home in Brownsville. I guess most of the people in Metamoris who have money are fleeing to Brownsville or anywhere else that's safer!

Matamoros has an awful reputation; worse than Tijuana. In 1989, they had 60 unsolved disappearances between January 1st and spring break time. That's when a student named Mark Kilroy disappeared.

Me, too. I remember when that horrible story made the news. Even back then, I was a true crime buff with a whole lot of life experience, so I was rather jaded. Nevertheless, Mark Kilroy's death gave me many sleepless nights, and to this day, I shudder when I hear or read "Matamoros".

A few things may sound a little off with the whole scenario, but I also believe her story. People may be living dangerously when they believe that parts of Mexico are still safe. I don't believe our border towns are safe either. When parts of a state in the U.S. is run by cartels (Ariz.), then some of their individuals could definitely kill a man and not a woman, with hopes of nabbing her or maybe it just wasn't her time to go. Guess they could care less about losing our tourism since the cartels pump billions into the country, not to mention all those who work here and send money back there.

Gonzalez's account contradicts a statement released Saturday by the Mexican attorney general's office. It said Hartley's wife provided new information about the Jet Ski outing on Falcon Lake, which spans the U.S.-Mexican border.

"Mrs. Hartley provided valuable information that will allow federal investigations to continue," the Mexican government's statement said.

I have been researching this...
this memo was supposedly leaked last May...
and the references to it a
I am seeing say " False Alarm".

Also...all the mentions of it on the internet & from Fox seem to lead back to one "Washington Times" story. No other source seems to have anything reliable.
( Others may disagree...but the WT is owned by the Moonies, and I don't find it credible)
Just my own opinion.

Also...I live in Mexico about 3/4 of the year, and have for years.
While I ( also my Mexican friends) am far from happy about what is happening in some areas, it is NOT everywhere...
I love where I live...and am NOT living in fear.

MOVE ON? Okay, sorry for yelling. But hasn't it only been a few weeks. My first thought was she wants to move on because she doesn't want the limelight on her (if, if, if she shot her husband). I'm not sure, but her blase' attitude about the killing of her husband bothers me. My hinky meter is up.

With all due respect, I believe this woman has been running on adrenalin, in an ongoing state of shock and feeling of surrealism.

I've been shocked at funeral visitations by family mourners who babbled/made very light conversation, and didn't at all appear to be in the throes of grief. Once life returned to normal, these same people were hit by delayed reactions to the loss of their person.

I feel that, in time, this wife may be in for a horrendous delayed reaction.

... has anyone asked Tiffany how it so happened that she had the truck keys in order to drive the truck that they arrived there in--home? Did she have time to fish them out of his pocket while she was fearing for her own life?

That has come up before and it was thought by some that she could have backed the truck and trailor down the boat launch while he unloaded the jetskis. So if that's the case, she would have parked the truck and had the keys.

Tiffany on now. Says it was not an interogation, it was a witness statement. Took a long time to give a detailed statement with all the translations.

She says all the questions were about their day from the time they left their house til the time she left the sheriffs office. In major detail about everything that happened that day.

She says she hopes they continue to look for David. She said they just want him back. If the people who did this are found that's great but at the same time she thinks it's gonna be pretty hard for them to find out exactly who did it unless somebody gives them up.

I don't think that we know for a fact that she drove home after that. Did she mention it? I may have missed it, but haven't heard her say anything yet about going home afterward.

I also find it strange that previously, TH said that she wanted to get David "back" on the jet ski, indicating that he was on it her jet ski.

But if she wasn't on tv, those who have made their minds up that she's guilty, would say she has stopped doing interviews so she must be guilty.

No matter what this woman does, it's gonna be torn apart by those who feel she's guilty.

Reminds me of how Somer's mother was picked apart after Somer was murdered. So many insisted she was guilty and would comment on everything she said or did.

IMO TH is darned if she does and darned if she doesn't.

Really? Do you have a cite for that?

I know Gov Brewer mentioned "headless bodies in the desert", but according to coroners, no decapitated bodies have been found. Scattered remains, yes.

Our own gangs and drug dealers are doing a good enough job at killing each other.
