It's mostly an "editorial" type article lamenting of crime in Mexico. No new info. Here is a couple sentences translated:

"...The numbers do not favor the expectations of justice in Mexico, the disappearance of people have obscene figures, and its relationship with organized crime and trafficking in persons is a reality that could discourage anyone, but in fact it is the pain of loss , and courage, which drives people to continue the search for his family, along with the small but great hope of finding and especially the tremendous thirst for an explanation and justice for such a tragedy...." (from Google translation)

The rest is just contact info, gofundme info, and FB info. This is less than 10% of the article, so shouldn't break TOS I hope!

Google translate will have to do. The reporter interviewed JR. Keep in mind that in translating Jenny is sometimes referred to as he or him. I wouldn't read too much into variations from things we've been told previously. Translation and reporting are the usual culprits IMO.

ETA: Roses' comment reminded me of the 10% rule which I violated. Oops! I'll delete some irrelevant parts...hmmmm...that's most of it. :D
......

Jonathan gave me an interview following a known common he met and this told his case, Reinhard is a sales agent who works for a company in Seattle, the United States, he and his wife , who is a college student Engineering and Robotics, also in the United States , planning to meet in the idyllic Mexican Caribbean for vacation "She's younger than me , is 26 and 47, but we make it work ," he says when talking about them.

.......

Apparently the company Grupo Modelo has shown its willingness to cooperate with the case but not much in the words of Reinhardt- , but local authorities have not made the corresponding actions , putting the pretext of fighting between civil society , the teachers and the forces local public and federal , for the first rejection of the silver educational reform by Peña Nieto.

This has left Reinhard do in a situation of helplessness : "I have returned 4 times -from the US- Mexico to work on the case," says Jonathan , who today expect to have results of local police while continuing his own research and he found it " strange" that no state prosecution has not issued orders to interrogate the truck drivers of the Crown who worked the area and the time when Jenny disappeared.

🤬🤬🤬, FB group, reward, etc.

You know Lilibet, one of our Mods Bessie has been quite ill and it made me stop to think how much these guys and gals do to keep these threads healthy and thriving.
It really is a public service, and a great deed especially for families who are desperately trying to get answers.
So out of respect for our ailing Bessie, I've been extra careful about thinking about TOS, and doing my best to be a good citizen.

So here's to our Mods - three cheers!

That is true, but I don't think you can set privacy for individual comments under the post. CC and other's comments were deleted IMO.
Are you certain every aspect of a post isn't then hidden? I just checked and that's how it works for me on a single, personal account. The entire post disappears to others, comments and all. I do not know if that is the case or not for other types of pages, however.

I feel as you do about this. I also feel that Mexican LE is very capable...same high level of ability as you find elsewhere in the country. So, I've wondered why local LE would report Jenny traveling after the date of her disappearance, when it seems most likely that it is not true.
This. Why indeed.

A link to, and excerpt from, a human trafficking article on the US Department of State website (bold font mine):
http://www.state.gov/j/tip/rls/tiprpt/countries/2014/226777.htm
"The government reported increased trafficking convictions and sentences in comparison with the previous year. It was difficult to assess government efforts to identify and assist victims and to investigate and prosecute trafficking cases, as data collection on victim identification and law enforcement efforts was uneven. Official complicity continued to be a serious problem."

IMO, for sure, the Mexican police are as corrupt as anyone is imagining. I personally believe zero from anything they might say or report, and that everything is driven by pay offs. I feel they are complicit unless paid to be active, and my guess is their findings are based on how much they are paid to find what is requested to be found, or not found. Furthermore, I feel any PI who is hired from there will execute their research based on this same morale, ie: report something you want to hear based on how much money you gave them, be it true or false.

I don't know how FB works, but in this case, the original post and earlier comments remain visible. Only CC's excellent questions and JR's response have disappeared, as far as I can tell. It's ironic because CC has been very supportive of JR. But she asks for relevant details in a respectful and concerned way. IIRC this isn't the first time she has gotten some pushback, either from JR or his co-admin CN. Others have had the same experience.

Not directing this thought at you, but using this post to say this...I understand that JR has every right to run this page the way he wants to, but the deletions and omissions have created a perception (not just on WS) that he is hiding something, even if he isn't. Or that he is overly concerned with how people view him. Certainly, everyone understands deleting personal attacks and inappropriate comments. But, for example, he posted and quickly deleted a photo of them on their wedding day. Huh? Some have offered helpful suggestions or cautions that have been deleted. He posted and deleted the information about his arrest. Perhaps the deletions are a way to keep the page "positive." Personally, IMO transparency generally creates credibility, even if it's a bit messy. Naturally, omitting or deleting info that would hurt the investigation is understandable. But that isn't what I'm talking about. The fact that his 🤬🤬🤬 has mostly dried up and his page and posts have few comments and shares at this point would make me rethink my approach if I were JR.

Excellent link! Thanks. JR strongly suspected trafficking at the beginning (not mentioned now) and set up the 🤬🤬🤬 to pay ransom. If Jenny was trafficked, JR is up against LE ignorance at best and complicity at worst. Jenny's case has stalled for some reason and I don't think it's for lack of effort on JR's part (even though I disagree with his communication style).

Excellent post, Lillibet. I flip flop on how I view JR and what his intentions might be. I just don't know how to read him. He is socially inadequate, for sure. But that doesn't make him nefarious, or maybe it does. I don't know. But I remain steadfast in my beliefs about the Mexican police. Combined with JRs behavior, I'm just totally thrown on where to let my thoughts go. He's all over the map, the information coming in is not consistent, so far there are no proven facts. Everything is heresay and nothing has been confirmed. You said this case was a hot mess, and now I see why.

in the meantime, Jenny is missing. Or hidden by her family in China. Or has run off away from her bad marriage. Or....

All efforts made to find Jenny Chen have been blocked by JR.

ALL efforts? MSM link please, or it isn't true (and may not be true even if MSM says so). I can see why some might have the perception and opinion that JR is blocking efforts to find Jenny, but this is opinion, not fact. As irritated and puzzled as I am by JR, he is still a man looking for his wife, until there is actual proof to the contrary.

GigTu, I think you've done an excellent job here describing the range of feelings on this thread! Or at least my feelings. As usual, I want to give JR the benefit of the doubt, but he drives me nuts! :gaah: Most of the time, I just want to take over his PR! :D

And yes, where is Jenny?

Have been wondering the following for a while:

What is so different about the "Corona is involved" theory that is leading JR (and/or his "team") to put all their eggs in this basket? What is it that makes JR and/or his "team" so confident that this is THE lead they should be pursuing? I am only asking because nothing I have read so far (not only on the thread, but also what JR has stated on FB) has convinced me that this theory, or any of its supposed corroborative evidence is any more credible or compelling than any other, certainly no more than what was reported in the statement released by the Chinese Embassey in Mexico. Why has JR not said a word about it, or not mentioned Jenny's family in China at all (I have to believe that they did travel to Mexico and at least met with Embassey personnel, due to the photos of her parents and brother that accompanied the article; the statement went on to say they also visited Mexican LE officials in various states, but there were no photos from those visits)? It may be that JR and Jenny's family never got along for whatever reason, but given the situation, wouldn't it make sense to try to reconcile at least for the purpose of locating Jenny? For one, for financial reasons? Donations are dwindling (and if the "massage parlor incident" had anything to do with people's willingness to support his cause, I'm sorry, I don't have any sympathy for JR, not for that, I just can't...), and he really needs any help he can get, IMO.

I feel the same way.

If Jenny has been trafficked and is still alive, she might now know too much about those responsible for them to release her alive...something to consider when trying to bring pressure to the case.

more from the US Department of State article linked to previously (Prosecution section of the article):
http://www.state.gov/j/tip/rls/tiprpt/countries/2014/226777.htm
"NGOs, government officials, and other observers reported that trafficking-related corruption among public officials, especially local law enforcement, judicial, and immigration officials, was a significant concern. Some officials reportedly accepted or extorted bribes from women and children in prostitution including in the form of sexual services, falsified victims’ identity documents, discouraged trafficking victims from reporting their crimes, facilitated movement of victims across borders, operated or patronized brothels, or failed to report sex trafficking in commercial sex locations. "

I just can't believe she is or was still traveling after her date of disappearance and not contact anyone.

Her parents and the Chinese Embassy did not have a problem believing it. They dropped the matter right then.

The Chinese Embassy dropped the matter, possibly, after reporting what they had been told by the Mexican authorities. We don't know how Jenny's Chinese family feels about it. As far as we know from JR, he has received no communication from Jenny since she disappeared...and there is no reason to believe that she would not have at least called him if she were able to. In addition, as far as we know, Jenny's phone has not been turned on since she disappeared. Reportedly, her phone had a tracking function enabled, which would send a message to JR as soon as the phone was turned on.

Are you sure that was their reaction?

Part of me thinks Jenny left with them.

I'd certainly like to think that Jenny went home with her family. I do have trouble imagining Jenny going back to China after all the negative things she posted about it. But who knows? Maybe she did. And of course we don't know that the Chinese Embassy has dropped the case or if they are still quietly working on behalf of Jenny's family. Then again, the whole cooperative effort with Mexico could have been a sham, as JR angrily implied in a comment after an article (since deleted IIRC). I'm inclined to think he was right, if only because Jenny suddenly went silent for no apparent reason. There isn't any reason to think she's still out there hitchhiking IMO. Although I'd certainly like to think so.
