Jenny is the victim.

Eta: I keep coming back to the thread to read about Jenny and check the case, and I appreciate KB's insight. While we all have access to the same facts our opinions and feelings vary and this is where we come to share.

it makes me think of the azaria chamberlain case, her mother was convicted in the court of public opinion because she didn't "act like a grieving mother", was too composed, dressed the child in black, etc
lindy chamberlain went to jail protesting her innocence
afterwards it was confirmed by Aboriginal trackers that a dingo killed azaria
so, the moral of the story is, unless you have proof a person is guilty do not use their lack of social graces as an indication of guilt

He wouldn't be asking for the public's help to harass these companies, if he was going through legal channels. A good lawyer would tell him not to do that. That they will take care of getting the information legally.

I disagree. Often what gets action from a company is getting the public involved, and what works even better is getting a television network to investigate the case, with airtime for the company. At least in the US this is true, I cant say with any confidence one way or another for Mexico.

I get the impression that JR is mostly just following the advice of his PI and attorney in Mexico, and that they are the ones taking steps to effect the release of GPS data, etc. This is good, but I would have first tried this from the US and the companies headquarters there. Months ago here on Websleuths, I suggested that JR contact their US headquarters, and if neccessary use a subpoena to try and get the most detailed GPS data that the company might still have. I was under the impression that there are Websleuths members active on this thread who are also active on JRs Facebook thread and that they would suggest to JR that he take a look at this Websleuths thread for some suggestions. Having been removed from the Facebook Help Find Jenny site by NC, I am unable to pass along my suggestions there. JR did not make use of a cleaned-up press release made by one of our Websleuths members, but instead kept his garbled version in place for public consumption, which told me that he either isnt monitoring our thread here, or that he does not want any help other than what he is receiving from his team in Mexico.

I believe at one point anyone mentioning this Websleuths thread was getting their posts deleted and were removed from the group.

Can you give me one example of where a company has ever released confidential customer information because of a public harassment campaign? That is not the way it works in the US, or most any other country with a legal system. <modsnip>

Certainly, the very case we are dealing with here. Contrary to your assertion that ´´he tried it with Corona, and it didn't work´´, in fact it did. And, for all we know (or rather dont know) it worked again when the trucking company released their GPS data. For it to work with the tracking company even without a subpoena, all it will take is for the trucking company to give the tracking company permission to provide the data. Well within the realm of possibility.

And what you call ¨public harrasment¨ might in this case be called ´public persuasion, pressure, or concern´.

Again, JR and his team have already succeeded once in getting GPS data, from the trucking company. With the trucking company having already made their GPS data available, why would they now not give their permission to the tracking company for the release of more detailed GPS data, if it exists?

If true, that would be quite sad.

If it worked with Corona, then why does he still need the information? And if his "team" got the information, then it had nothing to do with what he was doing. So I take it that you can't give me even one other example of a company that has been harassed into giving out confidential information?

You are still not understanding the GPS data situation in this case. Have you gone back and read the thread section that details this?

JR is obviously part of his team, following advise from his PI and attorney, who likely know more than you about the advisability of using public pressure in Mexico.

I have read every single post in all three of the threads. Have you?

Yes, I have read every post on all the parts of this thread.

The GPS log that was released has gaps in the record. We dont know the cause of these gaps. Detailed GPS data, if it still exists, might answer this question and others. In addition to the GPS data that they have, the trucking company also released the driver´s name, which is significant, in my opinion.

I doubt there are many online records specifically of companies releasing sensitive information as a result of public pressure...at least not many that can be found by searching for this without doing more reading than I care to devote to that task. However, finding reports online of public pressure bringing about a desired action by a company are easy to find. More importantly, and a better question to be asking is, are there any published reports of public pressure hurting a quest for this kind of information? Any reports of a company deciding to not cooperate because they didnt like the public pressure? And, more to our case, any of these reports for Mexico.

No doubt, JR does seem to operate in mysterious ways. He reminds me of some of our past US presidents. Aren´t we humans amazing sometimes. I had a good friend, now deceased, who was first a DA and then later in his carrier became a judge. One of the most decent and kind people I´ve known in life. He was busted for drunk driving, bailed out and the following Monday sitting in judgement of defendants.

I´ve thought about how devastating this would be. Not being busted for drunk driving, even for a judge (or a president), but having a loved one go missing. Raped, murdered? Where is my loved one?

Would the case JR and his team have put together been enough to see a forensic test of the suspect truck done; the suspect tuck located and tested to see if Jenny had been in it, if all this had happened in the US? A test which could have either confirmed or contradicted the driver´s claim that he had not picked up Jenny. Would JR´s case have seen a prosecution of a suspect by now, if it had unfolded in the US?

All of his missteps and questionable actions, the resultant depression he acknowledges suffering due to the ordeal, but he hasn´t given up. He hasn´t turned his back on Jenny.

Jonathon posted this on the Find Jenny page:

Update 3/14/2017: We been in touch with the new prosecutor. Apparently, he has not been sworn in yet, (since January 1st when he started) so he is not investigating. I find this very hard to believe. If anyone has some press contacts, I would love to tell the story of how disingenuous the Oaxaca police have been. Corruption at its finest!

The way I read JR´s post is that someone has told him the new prosecutor has not been sworn in yet, and that JR finds this hard to believe. I wonder who it was that told JR this. You might have proven JR´s scepticism to be well founded (unless of course the new prosecutor wasn´t involved in the conviction you have cited).

You do realize that JR went to Mexico the last time to specifically meet the new prosecutor.

But did you know he ran late and missed his connecting flight.

So he basically went to Mexico for nothing. Or did he?

So now he is saying the new prosecutor is slow. But he's not reminding you of how he went to Mexico but personally missed the original meeting between him and the prosecutor.

Btw. Where's Lilibet on this. Lol

But still I respect your point of view as well.

Yes, I remember that. A transcript of that Facebook post can be found on this Websleuths thread here: Part 3, Page 9, Post 133. It looks to me that this missed meeting was with the old prosecutor, not the new prosecutor. JR doesn´t say if he then contacted the old prosecutor to appologise for, and explain his missing the meeting. In any event, and regardless of JR´s missteps, I believe my Post 305 on this Page 21 is still accurate. Dex, good to see and read you again; I also respect your insights and contributions. I hope Lilibet is well.

And I hope Lili B comes back as well.

Per the Find Jenny FB page:

This is my where we are in the investigation: I apologize for limited communication- I have been battling depression lately.
We have a suspect. I was promised that there was a strong commitment to peruse evidence in the case (phone records, interviews, more polygraphs)
I was supposed to meet with the prosecutor, but missed my connecting flight- my fault not knowing a small airlines policies.( No automatic ticket printing- had to go to the check-in counter-which was closed) Therefore, I missed the meeting. Since then, there has been no word. We are looking to pick back up with a new administration in December. If I feel that I am getting the "same old run-around" I am going to have to attempt new strategies to find my wife.

Dex, it looks to me like his missed meeting was with the old administration and old prosecutor (bold font mine). This is Post 133, Page 9, Part 3 of this thread. This is before the new prosecutor.

But you missed his previous post due to his possible ongoing deletions;

Where he first stated the purpose of going down there to meet with the new prosecutor.

So yes. Jonathan has been deleting and editing things left and right at least 20 times that I know of.

And thats because he reads here and then deletes or edits or mention things that we have posted.

So imo. JR originally went there to meet the new guy as he posted before that he has probably since deleted.

How could JR have met with the new prosecutor in November 2016 (when JR missed his meeting)? The new administration (Governor) didn´t take office until the following December. And, if you look at Post 303 above (on this Websleuths Page 21, Part 3) JR acknowledges that the new prosecutor started on January 1st 2017.

  • #297
It was asked on the FB page today to clarify what he meant when he when he posted yesterday that the prosecutor hasn't been sworn in. He never really answers other than saying its BS.

  • #298
What I am trying to say is that it doesn´t matter what JR wrote, becasue the new (and now current) governor of Oaxaca didn´t take office until December 1st 2016 and he did not announce his new cabinet until he took office. Because of this it would have been impossible for JR to have a meeting with the new prosecutor in November 2016. The meeting that JR missed could have only been with the old prosecutor...the prosecutor at that time (November 2016). My information is not comming from JR, but rather from news reports out of Mexico. A link to one of these reports is below, with an excerpt below the link.

https://sipazen.wordpress.com/2016/12/05/oaxaca-alejandro-murat-takes-office-as-governor/
´´In the early morning of December 1 and in an alternate location, Alejandro Murat Hinojosa (of the Institutional Revolutionary Party, PRI) took office as the new governor of Oaxaca...On the same day, Murat Hinojosa announced the composition of his cabinet...´´

Someone should post the above link on the FB page and ask JR to explain ...?

´´Someone should post the above link on the FB page and ask JR to explain ...?´´

I doubt he would respond, but if he did it would probably just be to reiterate what he posted recently, a transcript of which can be seen in Post 303 of this thread (Part 3), Websleuths page 21: ´´We been in touch with the new prosecutor. Apparently, he has not been sworn in yet, (since January 1st when he started) so he is not investigating. I find this very hard to believe.´´
