:welcome: Buckshot24

Thanks for your comment. I believe they are covering up something too. Combine big businesses...Corona and the trucking company if they are involved...with corrupt LE...and JR has run into a brick wall. Over and over and over again.

You are very wise to stay out of Mexico IMO. It's too bad because it's a beautiful country with delightful people. In all fairness, there are places I won't go in this country either...and I don't just mean inner cities. People need to research the safety of places they go and decide if the risk is worth it. Unfortunately, Jenny didn't do that. :(

I think Jenny had some mental illness to a degree. She did mention needing to go back to her shrink.

So my question is was she diagnosed and given meds?

I haven't been on this thread in a while and I was hoping to come back today with some kind of valuable update and or leads or sightings and it is very discouraging that this case has literally been at the same place as the day Jenny disappeared. I am hoping Justice comes for Jenny whether that is her being found alive or finding out what happen to her.

Jenny Chen. 1 year ago from today.

http://m.weibo.cn/status/3937662165302131

Watched movie "room". Most people in movie theater were crying because it's so touching. The kid inside the movie talking, behaving just like my niece. They are same age too. It made me miss my niece very much.

Yes. Jenny made this post exactly 1 year ago.

And I or us should bump her anniversary last posts from her Weibo from now until her last post on April 5th or 11th 2016.

Jmo. Lets keep Jenny Chen alive in well in our hearts and mind.

I completely agree...

I sure hope we hear if some sort of update..

I hadn't realized she had a mental issue. She really shouldn't have been traveling alone. Such a horrible situation.

Yes. It seems like Jenny even mentions that she has some mental differences sometimes.

Especially when she says that she should go back to see her shrink.
.
Now most of Jennys post on social media seems as if she has a following.

But since people never really reply. It sometimes seems like Jenny is talking to herself.

But imo. Maybe JR should have told the media that his wife could be borderline whatever.

Because maybe more people would have helped if they knew she was somewhat mentally unstable to a point.

Idk.

But imo. If she is verified bipolar or whatever by her shrink. Then Jonathan definitely should had said something.

Jmo.

But idk. Maybe she is just somewhat eccentric and JR really didn't think it mattered to let the public know.

I agree on all your points.

It should have been told to everyone. It could make a huge difference in the case.

JR must not have thought it would matter, but any information about the mp is important imo.

Agree. Jr has access to her Facebook and possible Weibo account.

So he should have known that she was basically posting stuff to no followers for years.

Now maybe Jenny used Social Media as her personal diary.

But still. JR should have seen that she was possibly not all there. Especially since it seems like she was talking to a imaginary audience. Jmo.

You raise some important issues, Dex. I think familes really struggle with how much to reveal about their missing loved one. There is still such a stigma attached to bipolar, schizophrenia and other mental issues and personality disorders that families don't want to embarrass their missing person in case they come home. They probably don't want to face "How dare you tell the world I'm bipolar! Now everyone thinks I'm crazy. No one will ever hire me." Etc They have to balance that concern with deciding whether revealing this personal information will help.

If she was undiagnosed and had relatively mild bipolar 2, JR could have viewed her personality as just quirky and eccentric. On her FB page, I could see by comments that friends viewed her that way. Due to HIPAA, JR may not have known if there was a diagnosis.

Based on some of her posts about fear, it could be that she was seeing a shrink for an anxiety disorder. Her insistence on facing her fears by means of dangerous behavior in Mexico makes me wonder.

JR and Jenny faced criticism both here and in comments on news articles when the story first came out. "What was she thinking?" "How could he let her go alone?" Understandable reactions. Revealing mental health issues would probably have increased the backlash against JR and resulted in even less help and more suspicion about JR IMO. It's not like she had a disorder and suddenly disappeared. People mobilize for that. This was a planned trip. People just don't understand that those with mental illness are difficult to help, let alone prevent from engaging in dangerous behavior. JR was really caught between a rock and a hard place about how much to reveal (if Jenny did have issues). JMO

Agree. And I am somewhat of a hypocrite since I do have a family member with mental problems that were developed in later years. But I still shy away from it every time I hear that they have new legal problems with the courts.

My only problem is that we now live 5000 miles away. And I feel helpless and not want to infringe on privacy matters of theirs.

So you are right LiliB

Good point lilibet!
Mental health is a sticky situation for any person or family.

I'm so sorry you have first hand experience with mental illness in a family member, Dex. I think even if you lived a block away from the person, the privacy issue would be a tough wall to climb. My mother was a hoarder (thankfully in a studio apartment in a retirement home and not a whole house). This developed late in life too. I both protected her privacy and tried not to intrude, not wanting to cause her embarrassment, fearing her reaction, and also respecting her right to privacy. She was always a very private person. It's so hard to navigate these issues. My heart goes out to those who are parents or spouses or children of loved ones with mental illness. It's never possible to feel you've done enough or the right thing...even when you have.

From the Find Jenny Facebook page:

Update: 2/2/2017
We are at a standstill in the investigation until we get the police ( they are they only ones who can do this) to extract information from the primary suspects. We also need to obtain vital information from one source ( I can't publicly say which) I am trying to be patient and allow the authorities to do what was promised by the new administration.
What has been done:
Interviews and testimonies by witnesses
Interviews by Corona truck drivers
Jenny's entire route has been mapped and witnesses along the way have been deposed.
Pressure on Corona itself to cooperate.
Testimonies by all who met Jenny along her trip
Jenny's bank information has been examined
Jenny's cell phone information has been examined
GPS data (some) have been examined
I have personally traveled to Mexico 8 times to meet with prosecutors
and much more off the record.
There is more to do to discover what happened to my wife, but we
need to have the police do their part. Once we have some answers from the suspects, there will be a complete new case and lots of work to be done. I am not and will never give on on Jenny.

Thanks for posting this. It seems that a lot has been done. Here's hoping LE does its job quickly. I appreciate JR's tenacity.

How do we know that JR has control of JC's FB? Her latest friend, From Seattle/Vancouver WA has 1300 friends and looks like he has been active on FB. If JC "friend requested" him back in April, why would he accept the request now? This is the 2nd friend added within the past 2 months
Of note, he is not FB friends with JR.
If he friend requested her, why would JR accept the friend request? Why would JR hide Jenny's pictures, but not hide her friend list? Why would Chinese gov't, with Jenny's parents, say she was OK?
Who has control of Jenny's FB page??

Good questions! I don't know enough about FB and friends to know how new friends pop up or if JR has to accept them. I imagine he has control. I do think JR hid her photos because people were posting comments suggesting without evidence that he had something to do with her disappearance. Her friends list wouldn't attract that kind of posting. So I don't think they are comparable.

The Chinese government only reported what Mexican LE told them. Apparently they accepted it. We don't know what Jenny's family believes. My personal opinion is that the Chinese government does not want to rock the boat with Mexico because of trade deals, so they won't challenge what LE tells them. JMO Even without the monetary incentive, it's very hard for one government to work with another government when a citizen disappears or is a victim of crime in that country. I think China has to tread lightly.

I think, I recall JR mentioning it on the Help find Jenny page. I believe it may have been noticed by a member that her fb page had been changed.

I can only guess he doesn't get on it very often. He may be willing to accept any friend requests for her in hopes someone has info. Moo

I'm glad JR hasn't given up. I can't imagine what his life looks like on a daily basis. We get up, go to work, take care of our kids, get support from our spouse and family and friends. JR on the other hand, seems to be alone. It just seems so sad.

He doesn't have to be alone...
