On the Help Find jenny Facebook. Jonathan on dec 2 says we have a suspect and interviews and other things were to take place.

But maybe he should call this person a Person Of Interest.

Because it just doesn't seem like he knows that this person did anything. Jmo.

Plus I wonder if this suspect is supposed to be the same driver?

So imo. The We Have A Suspect justs sounds blank. Especially since he isn't saying that a xyz witness has personally said Thats Him.

Jmo.

Still going in a circle. Johnathon has something big....there is someone.....LE is holding things up.....and then back to the beginning.

Johnathon posted another update. From him:

We had very encouraging discussions with the new prosecutor. He was very honest and open. ( a big change from the last administration) I am optimistic that we will see progress in the case within the next 30 days.

Marking my calendar but sadly doubting.
Poor Jenny and her family. So sad.

Great, another meaningless deadline from JR. Remember this one?

“I firmly believe we’ll have some answers in the next 30 to 60 days.”

Jonathan Reinhard - JUNE 9, 2016

He just keeps posting these deadlines again and again, like doing so will solve the case. This time next year, he will still be setting these faux deadlines.

I think it's sad that he's been unable to break through the impenetrable wall LE and corporations seem to have built to hide information about Jenny. The hopeful posts show he's been jerked around. I think the "faux deadlines" or faux promises/expectations are from LE not JR. If they were from JR, I think he would have stopped long ago. They certainly aren't padding his 🤬🤬🤬 account or finding Jenny.

It might help if JR didn't miss meetings with the Mexican authorities. It sounds to me like he is the one jerking people around.

My question is why did he shut down the Chinese Embassy comments and never thought of asking them anything such as updates or verification of how they know that his Chinese wife was still backpacking.

But he was okay with getting the run around for 6 months from the same LE and prosecutors?

That really is a very good question, Dex, and something I've wondered. He was so definite that the backpacking story wasn't true, but we don't know why he made that statement. I don't believe he was speaking from personal knowledge as some do. I'll assume he had info from another source that contradicted it. But who knows?

I agree. Now I understand that he may have felt that they were not saying what he wanted to hear or maybe what his gut was telling him.

But to still dismiss them and their possible help since April is just not right.

Also. He announced every upcoming meeting with others that he was planning to have.

But never announced when Jennys family was set to meet the Chinese Embassy. Especially since he didn't know that they were going to tell the family that she was still backpacking.

But anyways. He should have hired a translator and questioned the Embassy more about what they know and how they came about said information.

Because some were skeptical since Jon never mentioned that meeting until after people started finding out that Jennys family had already came and left from their meeting.

Yes, there are a lot of things JR should have done differently IMO. Of course, that's water over the bridge now. Sigh. Whether doing things differently would have located Jenny is unknown.

We all know that JR is not a good communicator, so I do wonder if he may have actually done some of the things you mention he should have, but never said so. He may have questioned and kept in touch with the Chinese embassy for all we know. Or it's possible they will only deal with her parents. I wonder if he even knew they were coming to Mexico. Did he know anything about their meeting with LE and the results of that investigation before it was published? Was he blindsided? His irritated, dismissive response tells me he might have been. He seemed to feel that Jenny's parents were being misled and told what they wanted to hear for propoganda reasons, and he may be right. These are details we will never know.

It's all so sad. :(

Agree. But even if he was blindsided and didn't know until after it was reported; It seemed like he was too quick to dismiss the notion while thumbing his nose at the Embassy.

I know. It bothered me at the time, as have so many things JR has done. We just have no way to know why he had that attitude about the whole Embassy thing. Maybe there was a good reason or maybe not. I guess at this point I want to wish him well with the future instead of looking back.

You are right.

Now he does seem to mention having a suspect. But doesn't mention anything about the suspect. I wonder if he still means the driver.

Been away from here for a while. I'm sorry to see that we/JR are still going round and round in circles :(.

Without going into all my previous carping on the subject, I STILL don't understand why JR is STILL not working with the Chinese embassy; it might/should/would have been his best hope.

I'll assume the Chinese Embassy has no interest. Jenny publicly disavowed China, and was taking steps to become an American citizen.

So you think the Embassy would read her weibo pages to see if she hated China before helping?

Just asking? But how would they know? And obviously they like being away from China as well. Lol.

But seriously. I would think they would be more professional than that.

I think they were well aware of her weibo pages. It was all over Chinese SM. Surely, they would research Jenny to see who they were helping to find. I think they aided Jenny's parents as a courtesy and for PR photo ops. The parents got an answer that probably pacified (stonewalled) them and got them off the embassy's backs and Mexican LE's backs. Nothing happened to rattle China's trade relationship with Mexico. I now suspect JR read the situation correctly, even though at the time his response seemed foolhardy. I doubt the Chinese would have worked with him at all.

"Professional" or not, I can't imagine the Chinese embassy would make a huge effort to continue to look for a young woman who no longer wanted to be a citizen and trashed her country. Jenny really was suspended between two countries. Unfortunately, she fell into the gap.
