I think they were well aware of her weibo pages. It was all over Chinese SM. Surely, they would research Jenny to see who they were helping to find. I think they aided Jenny's parents as a courtesy and for PR photo ops. The parents got an answer that probably pacified (stonewalled) them and got them off the embassy's backs and Mexican LE's backs. Nothing happened to rattle China's trade relationship with Mexico. I now suspect JR read the situation correctly, even though at the time his response seemed foolhardy. I doubt the Chinese would have worked with him at all.

"Professional" or not, I can't imagine the Chinese embassy would make a huge effort to continue to look for a young woman who no longer wanted to be a citizen and trashed her country. Jenny really was suspended between two countries. Unfortunately, she fell into the gap.

I dont know my gal.

But I guess her family can only pressure the embassy so much from across the world.

But Jr wasn't even curious to follow up on it within the last 5 times out there.

Now the Embassy may have brushed things off because they knew the family had to head back to China and resume their life.

Plus now they are even more laxed and unpressured because hubby hasn't called them for a follow-up of where they got the information from.

So why ask for tips about her whereabouts. But not follow up on the Chinese Embassy tip?

So I wonder if it was proven fruitful. But he rather not say while constantly planning trips to Mexico?

But I guess we will never know for now.

We really don't know whether JR had any communication with the Chinese embassy, either before or after Jenny's parents came to Mexico. He didn't tell us, but his PI or attorney may have been in touch and followed up on the tip, assuming the embassy would deal with them. We just don't know, but I hope so. I hope something besides petulance caused JR to be so dismissive of the information.

Oh Dex, are you really saying that maybe JR knows the tip was accurate and that Jenny is still backpacking in Mexico? You think he's just pretending she's still missing, while making these trips? Say it isn't so, my friend. That's a bold accusation. He's still a victim whether we like him or not, isn't he?

Lol. Who me? I ain't blaming that man.

But I will speculate all possibles. Hmm

But okay. There may not be any proof that she was still backpacking. But it looks like there is no proof that she ever got picked up in a Beer truck.

For all we know. His witnesses may have lied to him. Btw. How did the P.I find the needle in the haystack witnesses so quickly?

Any information obtained in Mexico from those who prosper from the unfortunate travelers who happen to cross their paths should be considered suspect, and their information iffy, sketchy and probably fabricated at least partially - at best. That also goes for LE, PI's, and anyone who can be bought, bribed or threatened.

Agree totally.

And I would be very sketchy about the last house that she stayed at. Especially once they stated that they found Jenny a ride that was willing to drive her 18 hrs away.

But she just met these people early that morning around 12 midnight or so.

So who was going to drive her that far and then have to drive back.

Plus we don't know if the 2nd witness isn't friends with the lady that let her spend the night.

I would say that GigTu and Dexter just summed up the whole sad mess very neatly. :(

Agree. My friend.

Jr may want to focus more on the people that she last stayed with.

Especially since Jenny stayed with numerous others before going missing. Jmo

Especially if these people had found someone in several hours that was willing to drive her 18 hrs away and comeback.

Btw. Lets mull on this.

Because why wasn't it mentioned about how much money was Jenny willing to pay this person for this long drive.

So the lady told jr or the pi that Jenny was too impatient and didn't want to wait.

But why didn't anyone mention that she didn't want to wait because the ride would have cost her xyz dolllars.

So imo. That ride showed up. But Jenny didn't have enough money. But probably didn't tell this person until later.

So things happened. And now the original person and friend decided to point the finger at Corona. Idk. Jmo of a plausible for now.

This isn't related directly to Jenny, but it gave me randomly (probably false) hope that Jenny could still be out there somewhere.

https://missingpersonsofamerica.com/2016/12/05/missing-men-in-mexico-do-you-recognize-them/

Also, I am hoping someone will give these identified persons each a thread. I don't where where to do that, and the last time I made one for an unidentified homeless person it was deleted. Thanks.

Oh man, that's heartbreaking. And yet it does provide some small ray of hope that Jenny could be out there. I'm sure there are many more homeless, wandering Americans than posted on that thread. I wonder how the photos and info end up on that website...who would know to contact it?

You might ask a mod or Tricia about your thread idea, GigTu.

I meant to reply to this earlier, Dex. You make some very good points. Your scenario is quite plausible based on what we know of Jenny. The point that jumped out at me was that possibly Jenny didn't have enough money for the ride to Cancun, but didn't tell the person until later. By her own account, Jenny was known for taking advantage of the kindness of strangers in order to travel on the cheap. One family she stayed with got angry at her and told her to leave due to this, and I recall other instances of her manipulating (playing poor) in her blog. Personally, I found her attitude quite offensive, so someone "played" by her might have reacted violently.

Another thing, could the "friend" of the shopkeeper who was going to give her a ride, possibly be the Corona driver. It seems likely to me that the shopkeeper knows the drivers...possibly not from deliveries as these were awfully large to be delivery trucks to small businesses, but perhaps from the drivers stopping to buy food.

One of the drivers indicated that he had his family with him and couldn't fit her in, so he must have known about her. Perhaps the single driver was heading toward Cancun and agreed to take her along, for a price that she wouldn't pay. At the very least, the driver could say he kicked her out along the way when he found out she expected to ride free. There's always the possibility that she turned down his advances. I still think JR needs info from the Corona driver, but he isn't likely to get it.

I think the Corona driver that he is focusing on is the one with the family. And he doesn't believe the single driver was involved.

I think he stated this when he released the trucks gps transcripts.

Maybe the p.i should have checked the shopkeepers phone records for that morning to see who was she calling to give Jenny a ride.

I think you're right about family guy driver being the one on the transcripts. That was so confusing and never made sense to release those if he thought single guy was the suspect as he'd implied earlier.

You're right that the phone records from that morning are important. I doubt the PI could have access to them, but LE could if they were so inclined. And that's debatable.

Just noticed Jenny's facebook (jennycqd) just very recently (within the past 2 or 3 weeks) added a new friend (Christopher Kane -Pennsylvania State University) bringing to 36 her friend count. She had 34 when she first went missing. I can understand CR setting her photos to private but this is just strange. Of note, CR is not friends with Kane on Facebook.

Interesting. Good catch. I think you mean JR, not CR. I wonder if he could have accepted the friend request on Jenny's behalf for some reason. But why? Another mystery we'll never know the answer to.

Jenny could have made the friend request even years ago, and the person only just now accepted.

Thanks. That sounds possible. I wasn't sure how friending works.

Jenny used the username jennycqd on every single social media account from Facebook to twitter to weibo to whatever else.

So I wonder what would be her username if she did run away but wanted to still stay active on social media without her pics of course.

Now I also must wonder if maybe she is simply living and working in Mexico with other Chinese folks.
