Monica de Leon has been found alive ! After >6 months !!

A woman who was kidnapped in Mexico last year has been found and will soon be reunited with her family in the Bay Area, the Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed to KRON.

Monica De Leon Barba was kidnapped while out walking her dog on Nov. 29, 2022 in Tepatitlán, Jalisco, Mexico.

Wow that’s fantastic news after all this time! Happy dance! Kidnapped for 8 months leaves me to think there was lots of happenings going on behind the scenes that just wasn’t made public, for good reason. Hoping there will be charges to follow.

She was released by her captors Friday night and is en route to the United States, where she will be reunited with her family and dog after spending eight months in captivity, according to the FBI.

Very unusual for sure. Not much has been said about Gael but if it’s true Monica had duel citizenship there may‘ve been a known Mexican relative who was anticipated to pay the ransom, purely speculation though.

San Mateo is an expensive area.

It's very sad that Monica can no longer feel at home or comfortable in Mexico....I believe she lived there, it was home for her.
