Mexico - Shanquella Robinson, 25, American, Beaten to death in apparent “femicide”, San Jose del Cabo, 28 Oct 2022

  • #301
Family attorney Sue-Ann Robinson, (no relation to the deceased), told the US Sun.

'We all saw what happened on the video, and we are demanding that US authorities step in and prioritize the case and allow the extradition process to flow, allow Mexican authorities to prosecute the person they've identified as the aggressor in Mexican courts.'

She said that FBI told her they are not able to release the documents [autopsy results] to them because the case is still open, and they are still waiting for documents to be translated to English that they received from the Mexican authorities.

Despite the response, Robinson said there are 'red flags everywhere.'

'You've made a decision in the case, you've announced the decision publicly to the family and to the public,' she said, in part, 'but you're saying the case is still not closed and admitting that some of the documents from the investigative file that arguably would affect your decision to charge have not been fully translated.'

thank goodness the family has someone to speak for them
we can't let the suspects get away with murder and as far as I'm concerned they all deserve to rot for not speaking up for Shanquella knowing she was murdered

Schools are wrapping up the year -- maybe a group of Spanish teachers could get started on the project?

I'm thinking -- and hoping -- that the delay on the translation is because of exacting legalese. Like, you don't wanna leave any room for error or ambiguity in legal documents when everyone involved documents primarily in English, and much less when the documents are in another language.

Like, yeah, an average Spanish to English interpreter would do just fine for most of our standards, but lawyers are paid to rip those ambiguities to ribbons. Which, of course, is a double-edged sword in the American justice system, but that's a completely different topic.

I'm sure that's correct.

This is incorrect, the U.S. autopsy was performed on 11/27/2022. SR died on 10/28/2022 and was embalmed after the Mexico autopsy. The "violent" death was supposedly based on the findings of the spine. There were no spinal fractures found in the U.S. autopsy. MOO

The forehead hematoma is described on the U.S. autopsy report. Hematoma is like a bruise with a broken vessel bleeding into the area, maybe causing swelling. For example, The doctor said I had a golf ball hematoma, not a goose egg, when I got nailed in the forehead by a baseball.

I hate to say it because these people and what they did it horrific, but the autopsy makes me see why this might be more of an uphill battle for arrests than initially thought when they were saying she had suffered a broken neck. The autopsy findings really are very inconclusive on the literal mechanism of how she died (no spinal cord damage, no spine fractures, no head bleed or brain herniation, no chest cavity or abdominal trauma). The hematoma wouldn’t cause death. Basically she had an anoxic brain injury and the physiologic cause is unknown. It leaves a lot of room for defense attorneys to create doubt about the exact reason she died. Unfortunately she didn’t get prompt medical care in terms of blood work as this was transpiring and there is no way to go back in time and get that.

They should charge the “friends” with aggravated assault, which there is absolutely no way to deny, and every other charge they can come up with (unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, grand larceny etc etc) while they continue to try and build the murder case. Maybe when faced with real jail, someone will start filling in the details about what the events/her condition after the fight as she deteriorated or even implicate the others in some sort of premeditated plot.

As counterintuitive as it is to say, it’s a shame she doesn’t have more clear cut injuries to explain her death. If you work in medicine and you read that entire autopsy from NC, it definitely doesn’t bolster the case against them from a medical standpoint, in fact, it makes it almost more mysterious as to what happened to lead her to go into cardiac arrest.

Family keeping Shanquella Robinson's memory alive through nonprofit

Shanquella Robins's sister founded SBR Helping Hands in honor of the late Charlotte woman.

From scholarships to being a resource to the community and families facing tragedies to combating bullying, the group has several initiatives.

“Bullying, that’s one of the main focus. If you see it… do something about it. Make sure you just don’t stand around. Don’t condone it.,” said Keairra Grier, the Chief Marketing Officer.

A Whitehouse meeting? Well, no wonder. JMO
So…. Chances of justice are slim, sad but true. IMO

I’m sorry, Shanquella. You deserve justice.

we're still here waiting for justice and we're not going away

Even with a video showing the assault she suffered doesn't seem to matter. Something stinks here.

This case isn't just sitting around gathering dust (yet) IMO. Just because we aren't hearing anything, I am confident LE is working this case. Shanquella Robinson was beaten to death.

But I understand the frustration and am sure her family and loved ones are suffering horribly in a way no one deserves or could ever imagine. This is such an incredibly tragic and disgusting story. I just don't believe we've heard the end of it.

“The lawsuit will be against the six travel mates including the three who lied by omission by failing to disclose that someone had been beating Shanquella prior to her death," family lawyer, Sue-Ann Robinson, told Newsweek.”

I truly hope this can happen and that the six are located in order to be held to account.

Poor Shanquella deserves justice and this case really got to me, it's been one of the most mindless, senseless, hateful, cruel acts of violence against a pure and innocent woman who was shining bright and had her whole life in front of her. From her so called 'friends', my god.

I can't imagine the pain her family suffer and they deserve the truth from these low-lifes. Who, if any one of was even so much as a half decent person could not explain what happened honestly? Are we supposed to assume that each and every one of these six is 'lost' and on the wrong side of life? Surely not.

Maybe LE can negotiate indemnity for any one of them who could be an information who wasn't one of the killers?

Do her family have funds? Are we aware of any crowdfunds? I would support so if any legit crowdfund it known of please DM me or link it here.
