WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) — The Wyoming Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s help finding a missing and endangered woman.

WDPS said Betty Joe Jones, 72, has been missing since 11:15 a.m. She is believed to be on foot because her vehicle is parked in her driveway, located on Copley Street SW near Charlesgate Avenue SW.

Jones is described as a Black, female, 5 foot 6 inches, 90 pounds, brown eyes and wears glasses. KDPS said it’s unknown what clothes she was wearing when she went missing, but she is known to wear a head scarf similar to the one in her photo.

She has onset dementia and her family is concerned for her wellbeing, police said. She does have a cellphone but it is turned off.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or the Wyoming Department of Public Safety at 616.530.7300.

So where's Ms. Betty? They think she's on foot because her vehicle is parked in the drive. Did she leave with someone? When was the last time anyone saw her? When is the last time she drove her car? Has anyone checked with neighbors who may have ring cameras? It seems if Ms. Betty left on foot, someone had to have seen her somewhere. MOO

Copley St/Charlesgate Ave is a residential area. It's only about a block or so away from 32nd St SW, which seems much busier in terms of vehicle and foot traffic. Depending on which Copley St. house is hers, it's possible her backyard abuts Hwy 131. There is a sound barrier wall separating the two so it's unlikely she could have walked down to the highway without having to climb over then jump down onto the Hwy's shoulder. If she left walking, she could have crossed over Hwy 131 using the 32nd St. overpass then headed toward Hillcroft Park. I wonder if she ever spent time there? Her family, friends and neighbors know her best, but if I were searching, I'd start in that area. MOO
