This murder occurred in my hometown and outside a few newspaper articles I can’t find much on it. Beverly was said to be living with her husband who lived in Holiday Estates Mobile park in Canton Michigan and her parents home who lived in Ann Arbor. Apparently Beverly and her husband were in the middle of a divorce. At 10:20am, Her body was found on the side of the road on Gotfredson Rd, south of Ford Rd by a passing motorist. She had been shot, police wouldn’t reveal if she was dead already when found or died later. Her vehicle was found a few miles away at Griffin Park on Cherry Hill and Sheldon. Have not been able to determine where the murder actually took place, was it the location she was found or where he vehicle was found.
A very interesting side note, 9 months later, a much more well known disappearance occurred, that of Paige Renkoski. Her car was found much further away off I-96 freeway but before that she was said to be visiting a friend at the very same Griffen Park that Beverlys vehicle was located.
Anyone have any other info on this case??

Bumping this case up. Could it be linked to the disappearance of Paige Renkowski which occurred only a few months later?

DNA taken from a rape kit completed in 1989 was sent in for forensic genealogy testing in 2024. According to court documents, that DNA has been linked to Buster Robbins of Almont.

On Sept. 24, 2024, investigators collected several items, including used plastic straws, which were sent to the Michigan State Police lab for DNA comparison.

Forensic scientists found that DNA from one of the straws matched the DNA from the rape kit.

Could the same killer be responsible for the disappearance Paige Renkoski?

During a motion hearing on May 15, 2025, prosecutors said Robbins should not be given bond as he is under investigation for other cases, and child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 was found on Robbins’ tablet.

August 18, 2025 rbbm.

Buster Robbins (left) was charged for the rape and murder of Beverly Wivell (right).

“From what I understand, there’s pretty damning evidence, and I guess it’s pretty certain, but for me, until I hear that guilty verdict is heard, it won’t be done for me,” said Swanson.''

''For decades, the case remained cold until 2022, when detectives sent old DNA evidence to Othram in Texas for genealogy testing.''

''Pearson said Robbins had little police contact and lived under the radar for years, building a family and life.
“Wasn’t he a reserve officer around that time?” asked Local 4.
“Yes. With Macomb County,” Pearson confirmed.'

''Even as Robbins heads to trial, investigators urge anyone with information about Robbins or Wivell from that time to come forward.''
