Anyone else wondering why this missing child case hasn't been reported on national news? Nothing on the morning shows like Today or GMA. Nothing on HLN or CNN that I've seen, either. Will Nancy Grace will be covering this case tonight?

while googling.... it looks like AP has picked this story up in the last hour. It's starting to spread now

any way we can figure out what school he was at at 8:15 when he dropped his nephew off?

The Conant Gardens neighborhood would go to Pershing High School if the nephew attends DPS. There was mention of someone in the house attending school in Highland Park, but that could have been one of the other children. HP has its own schools, but maybe someone attended pre-school or a Charter School in the nearby enclave of Detroit.

Volunteer Gordon Jones, 45, of Detroit hoped for the best but braced for the worst.
"If it were my daughter, I would be looking anywhere and everywhere," he said, as he looked toward a swathe of abandoned buildings.
Jones, a contractor by trade, put his skills to work this morning, entering whatever abandoned home he could access. His flannel shirt covered in burrs and hands protected by workers gloves, he used a flashlight to peer under the porch of a two-story, boarded-up white house whose exterior was riddled with discarded couch cushions and rotting furniture.
"My heart told me to go where other people don't want to go," he said.

It is cold out there today, bless the hearts of all those volunteers, looking for a baby they have never met.

Regarding this article: "Lane is seen on a school surveillance tape dropping off a 15-year-old nephew at approximately 8:10 a.m."

Could a toddler (Bianca) be seen in a car seat on the tape? I wonder what LE has found about this?

Pershing High School
18875 Ryan Road, Detroit MI
Bell Schedule
Morning Afternoon Half Day
Mon–Thur 8:00 AM 3:45 PM 11:15 AM
Friday 8:00 AM 3:15 PM –

so 8:10 would mean the nephew was late right?

D'Andre has posted bond and has been released from an Oakland County jail where he was held on traffic charges.

I thanked you and yet, I still dislike this post. I'd much prefer to know that LE knows where he is st all times.

I was confused about why he was being detained in Oakland County (where I live). Detroit is in Wayne County.

Hopefully he can't find a ride and gets stuck there

Two quick things to add:
First, I am pretty sure that, on his Facebook page, dad stated he was a student at that community college. Anyone else remember that? Can't find the link to the page to confirm. Not sure what that means, but if he was a student, he would be familiar with the location and it is a connection.
Second, as far as Lane being seen fleeing with a firearm, that is so bizarre, I don't even know what to make of it. Where was the gun when the police showed up? Is that why they are searching the mom's house, because he may have hidden the gun there somewhere? Or, is it possible, given the likeness between the composite and dad, that the witness mistook the fleeing suspect for dad. And in actuality this witness corroborates the father's story. Long-shot, I know, but just a possibility...

On DL's Facebook - "INFO" page, it shows where he attended school = Wayne County Community College, and yes, he would be familiar with the grounds, etc. But I have to wonder why did he go there? How long did he stay? Did he get out of his car?

Anyone know how far apart the college is from the high school where DL dropped off his nephew?

According to Michigan prison records, Lane was jailed for more than three years on drug and firearm possession charges stemming from a 2003 arrest and was paroled in 2007. He also served a more than four-year probation starting in 1996 after being convicted of assault with intent to commit armed robbery and a conspiracy charge.
A pre-sentencing investigation report from 2007 shows that Lane, a father of three other children from three previous relationships, sought to shield his incarceration from his children. A probation officer wrote that Lane did not want his children to come to see him in prison because it was not a place for them to visit.

So he is a father of at least 6 now. Good grief. At least 6 kids with at least 3 different women and if this plays out as we think it will daddy will be doing life without parole.

When he was arrested, Godbee did say that the charges he was being held on were from a different county (other than Wayne).

I don't trust any inmates that come forward with info, unless that info is verified. It's a highly public case, locally, and he might see a way to get some time off his sentence.

I am thinking the same thing. This guy had a long history of being incarcerated. There is no way he is going to blab or confess to some cellmate while he is just in for a warrant or a traffic issue. imo

He could walk to the house on Mitchell depending on how far away the jail is. The county line is 8 Mile road, so just a mile north of the Mitchell address near 7 Mile.
