The whole unlocked/locked door thing has me stumped. If the doors were left unlocked than there had to be some customers that would have come into the store in the last hour before the store was to close and noticed no employee's where there to wait on them.

If I walked into a store and found no employees I would be calling LE. What are the chances that every person that walked into the store if the doors were left unlocked just left without paying for their merchandise or just left the merchandise at the counter and not thinking anything of it?

Some other questions I'm wondering are:

  1. Where the lights left on in the store overnight?
  2. If the lights were left on didn't anyone think that was strange? (Police patrolling at night)
  3. Does the Dearborn police check doors in this shopping center on routine patrol?
  4. Does the store have an alarm?
  5. If there was an alarm and it was not set would the notifying station be alerted and if so was the store manager alerted that the alarm was not set after the store should have been closed and the alarm turned on?

JMO

Take a look at the picture of the front store entrance. It looks to me that customers go through two sets of doors before entering the store. You can also see the anti shoplifting alarm that’s on the side that customers go through prior to exiting the store.

Now if a customer went inside the store that appeared to be empty and took merchandise without paying, I’m sure that it would have set off the anti shoplifting alarm if the electricity was still on inside the store. The antishoplifting alarm would have been very loud.

But how long did the power outage last in that area during the storm?

I believe that the whole store would have been dark if storms caused the power to go off. My guess is that anyone driving through the area at that time probably thought the store had closed early on account of the electricity being off during the storm.

And when the power later came back on, my guess is that police patrolling the area probably thought the store had closed early during the storm and didn’t think anything about all of the lights being on in the store overnight.

Here’s an interesting thought. I wonder if the security cameras in the store are still operational and recording during a power outage.

I think there are two possibilities here regarding the store door being locked or unlocked.

If the door was locked, then the suspect may have locked the first set of the front doors and went out of the back door. Or the door may have been left unlocked during the whole time overnight.

Now if the suspect went out of the back door, I wonder if the back door was found to be locked or unlocked or if the back door was the type of door that automatically locks itself from the outside when closed.

In the area where the dollar store is located, I wonder if there are license plate readers in addition to traffic cameras and security cameras from other businesses.

License plate readers can be on police vehicles or they can be fixed on a pole.

Driving somewhere? There’s a government record of that

Looking at that keypad and alarm, I wonder whether the door itself is electronic.

Many electronic doors are designed to release the lock when the power goes down so the people inside can get out. It's a fire safety thing. So maybe the power outage itself is what caused the doors to be unlocked.

The speculation and discussion about Brenna's brother needs to stop please. His sister is missing. He doesn't need his actions and posts dissected. He is a VICTIM.

I just hope he doesn't take care of somebody he *thinks* is responsible but who isn't involved...

p.s. I do not mean this as a slam against the brother. In his shoes I'd probably feel the same way. It's a volatile situation.

But this is one reason le does not tell everything. You never know.

May have already been pointed out, but if that's the perp in the photo, it doesn't look at first glance like the dude she is with in her FB pictures.

In your enhanced photo can you see this person's thumb that it looks like it is white at the tip? Is that a thumb nail or something white on the thumb?

At 400 and 800% - he has a white bandaid or something like it on his right thumb...definitely a black male with a pencil thin type mustache...

Here is my best shot at enlarging the photo to show the mustache and possible bandage.

I know this is going to sound strange, but is that a nose or a pair of lips in that photo?

  • #274
I don't think that's anything on his thumb. I think he's holding a knife or something with the length back along his palm and his thumb resting along it.

IMO It's a nose. It looks to me as if his mouth is hidden below the front of the hoodie or a scarf or something......

I can see it!!! Instead if a mustache, it looks like when guys shave but leave a line of hair around below their lips. Erg...I'm sure there's a name for it .
