There have been inconsistencies with the "story" from day one. I think that Charlie's dad is very strict. Mentions that Charlie left previously without permission. I get the impression that Dad might be heavy-handed with the discipline of his son. :moo:

I tried to give the dad and stepmom a chance, but they don't come across as truthful in their inconsistent accounts of what happened to young Charlie. Both adults seem defensive and more concerned about their public images than with finding the missing boy.

The radio interview with the dad this morning (WWJ) convinced me that he and stepmom aren't cooperating with the investigation unless it's on their terms. If they have nothing to hide, they should be more than willing to do whatever is necessary to find this youngster. I don't buy their stories. Hinky and stinky. :moo:

The father of a missing 12-year-old Detroit boy has volunteered to take a public lie detector test, after reports that the results of a test he took for the FBI were inconclusive.

Detroit police are still the search for 12-year-old Charlie Bothuell V who has not been seen since Monday, June 14. His father, Charles Bothuell IV, confirmed to FOX 2 that he took an FBI-administered lie detector test, but denied that the results were inconclusive, as other media outlets have reported. "I'm making a standing offer to the media, you guys provide a lie detector test, you can make it public, I'll be there to take it," Bothuell IV said Wednesday.

However, again, it does NOT sound like a 12-year-old boy talking. At ALL, IMO.

I think we all wondered when it was stated cadaver dog were brought in. Typically it's search dogs first. I figured there had to be some evidence of a murder. Dang it :banghead: I love being wrong. Here.

Chief Craig not offering many details due to active, ongoing investigation. Believes that there will be closure in the case. Evidence leads investigative team to believe that this is more than a missing child. Crimes Against Children leads investigation, but it is collaborative effort of multiple law enforcement agencies. Dad and stepmom are POIs. Still seeking help from the public.

ETA: I've met one of the detectives who is working the case.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said Wednesday the case of a missing 12-year-old boy is not a homicide investigation, but police are not ruling it out.

Charlie Bothuell has been missing since June 14. He was last seen at his home in the 1300 block of Nicolet Place. His father, Charlie Bothuell IV, told police his son was working out, stopped to go to the bathroom and never came back.
