Once again, Mr. Bothuell seems overly concerned about his public image. "I want my name cleared. I want my wife's name cleared. I want my family's name cleared."

Sorry, Charlie, but you brought this on yourself and have no one else to blame for this situation. You (and your wife?) have been abusing your 12-year-old son with harsh discipline, beating him with PVC pipe, insisting on a ridiculous workout regimen, and maybe even punishing young Charlie by withholding food. Mr. Bothuell, you're a control freak, and your parenting methods are cruel and unusual. You got caught, and it's troubling you because the world now knows that you're a monster :furious: I hope you (and your wife) are charged with abuse and arrested later today. :moo:

Brief report on Channel 4 news at noon. Sources telling WDIV that DPD is expected to ask Wayne County Prosecutor to file charges of abuse/neglect against the father and step-mother of 12-year-old Charlie Bothuell.

I will be out for a while this afternoon and hope that there are new developments later today or this evening.

I hope young Charlie is doing better now that he is away from that he!! hole where he was living with abusive parents. :moo:

I want to hear what the FBI says. I thought Charlie's dad was trying too hard to look like a great dad. I never saw anybody defending him except the older daughter. Did anyone else see anybody else saying positive things on anyone in the family?

I think Dad had a hand in the script for his daughter and demanded that she contact the media. I believe that Charlie IV has another adult child, too, but maybe he/she wouldn't defend Dad. :moo:

Watching NG...according to her, Charlie has been moved from his biological mom's house to protect him from the media.

ETA: Take it for what it's worth. NG often gets facts wrong, IMO. Last I checked, MSM is still reporting that Charlie is with his biological mom.

DETROIT (WXYZ) - As Detroit Police and the FBI prepare to present their case to the prosecutor for possible criminal charges against the father of 12-year-old Charlie Bothuell V and his stepmother, 7 Action News has learned that the 45-year-old dad has tried contacting the son he's accused of abusing.

Just a few random thoughts after viewing that clip:
- It's interesting that the father is always highly dressed up, with a nice-looking tie that coordinates with his suit, but the stepmom is always dressed in sweats or casual clothing.

- I wonder if he has tried to place her on a "exercise" regimen (I'm not criticizing her weight... It's just that I can imagine that Charlie has tried to force his ideas on weight management on her)

- The reporter stated that the father and stepmom married soon after the divorce... I wonder how Charlie and Monique met and when?

- Monique's lawyer is very talkative! He's disclosed information that the public never would have known, such as the fact that Charlie tried to contact his son and his ex-wife (Charlie's biological Mom) hung up on him.

Isn't it illegal for him to try to contact the mother and child? I thought there was a no contact order while the investigation was ongoing? I may be mistaken though.

It seems from what her attorney revealed that the step mother may be considering testifying against the father to reduce her charges. I wouldn't be surprised. Especially if she has also endured some of the abuse.

Please don't ask me to locate the link but I saw an article about a reporter who was trying to knock on their door and talk to Charlie. He was not the only one I'm sure and they'd be wise to stay with a relative or a friend for a while I think-

I could be mistaken but I think I read in one of the links that he and bio mom went to stay at grandmas? Ringing a bell with anyone?

Possibly the same report that you read - Charlie (and his mother, I believe) were at his aunt's (her sister) in Southfield. I recall thinking that this was somewhat disconcerting because Charlie's dad works in Southfield.

I'm sure it's driving Mr. Bothuell :crazy: to not know what his son told FBI interviewers. Dad's lost control, and he's not happy about it. Given the chance, Dad would abuse Charlie again because the truth has tarnished his image.

I haven't seen the date on this yet..But here's the Dad. Seems like he's pleading to the media to clear his name and I hear him saying repeatedly "I don't need to take a polygraph." Um..OK? JMO

I think it's the day Charlie was found because he says, "even today I got a call that said they're looking at this as a possible homicide"

this hour, sources say police insisting they will press for a felony child abuse and or neglect charges on little Charlie`s dad and stepmother. Are

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Court records show 12-year-old Charlie Bothuell says he`s been abused. The FBI sat down with him to hear his story.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: There`s something there. There`s something their trying to prove.

UNIDENTIFIED FEMALE: Court records show the boy was told to hide in the basement by his stepmother.

UNIDENTIFIED MALE: My father would never do anything to hurt his kids.

GRACE: Straight out to CNN Correspondent Susan Candiotti. Susan, what`s the latest?

SUSAN CANDIOTTI, CNN CORRESPONDENT: The latest is that investigators have now wrapped up meticulously putting together a very complete what they

call package of evidence to present to the district attorney who will ultimately decide whether to issue a search warrant. Now, this package that

they`ve put together includes information from the interviews they did with that child, of what that child told child protective services about being

hit with a PVC pipe, disciplined by his father, that they found scars on his body, old scars. That a grandmother said that he looked as though he

was ill with cancer because the boy had lost so much weight since the last time she saw him, that they found bloody clothes in the apartment and blood

on the PVC pipe that I just mentioned. And they will include information from an FBI interview also done with this young man looking for consistency

in what he said. Did he tell the same thing to the Detroit police as he stayed to the FBI? And it seems like a convincing package of evidence

that`s been turned over. But ultimately it is up to the district attorney to decide whether to issue the warrant. And I`m told it won`t be done in a

snap...

Evidence in the case of a Michigan boy who vanished for nearly two weeks before turning up in his father's basement will not be turned over to prosecutors until at least next week, authorities said Wednesday.

The information being presented to Detroit prosecutors includes allegations that the 12-year-old boy, Charlie Bothuell, made to county child welfare authorities. Sgt. Michael Woody had earlier said the evidence could be handed over as early as Wednesday.

The agency opened an investigation of the family June 23 after FBI agents looking into the boy's disappearance interviewed his grandmother...

There's nothing new posted on the WWJ (radio) website, but when I was in the car this afternoon, the local CBS station is reporting that charges are imminent in the case of Charlie Bothuell. I expect there will be updates later today or early tomorrow.

The investigation took a turn Sunday night as Local 4 Defenders learned that Bothuell's father could face local and federal charges. It all goes back to a very detailed and lengthy interview last week -- one conducted by federal agents with the 12-year-old boy.
