NOW they're saying body was DEEP in ground whereas first link reported shallow. The farmer was tilling...does anyone know how far the tillers go into the ground? It would imply that the burial site was NOT in the dead of winter as the ground would have been frozen.

I just asked my husband. He said it depends on how big the tiller is. He said maybe a foot on average but could be more. He said if its a tractor doing the tilling then maybe 3 feet..he is not a farmer but thats what he said when I asked.

We have a different soil makeup here in Vermont, but generally it ranges from just a few inches to sometimes 16 or 18 inches. Wet seasons you don't want to till as deep because it creates a hard pack down underneath and dry seasons you can go a bit deeper to help break up any hard pack. It also depends on the crop grown in the field and the root depth.

That is very interesting. I think these are corn fields in summer, I have no idea why you "till" in November as I know nothing about farming. Again, reports are conflicting..I wish they would tell the SAME story

In describing the condition of the remains I would doubt it is Chelesa or the boys(they would be bones). It is more likely to be the man missing since september. IMO

:praying: for the family and loved ones of the found person....

I tend to agree. Especially since the location of the remains from where he was allegedly last seen in south toledo would make more sense in terms of the distance.

Also, aren't they supposed to be able to tell fairly quickly if the remains are make or female bases on pelvis size?

While I certainly hope these remains aren't Chelsea or the boys, the remains are someone's loved one.

Thinking of anyone missing a loved one tonight.

Posted 11/15/14 450 PST Toledo paper. The sheriff said because of the condition of the remains he could not tell if it was male or female. This implies a badly decomposed body their has not been time enough for Chelsea to decompose this much. IMO

They have not provided description except what was in the very first news release that I posted that was "small framed". They did not say skeletonized or state of decomp. which would be pretty far gone now even with cold temps for both Kevin and Chelsea. As a nurse, I was taught remains in summer can completely skeletonize in a month or a little less...approximately 2 months in cold. If someone is a pathologist on here I'm sure they could be more exact with their knowledge. The coroner was at the scene and if skeleton, you can immediately tell if male or female from pelvis structure but they are not even releasing sex which leads me to believe that they are not skeletal JMO.

Kevin Carr, 24, has been missing from Toledo since September 10, 2014. He definitely is not getting the coverage that Chelsea is getting..I can't even find a thread for him on here. He is listed as 5'7 that would be "small-framed" perhaps. In the following link you can see he is loved and has an adorable infant son..does a mod need to start a thread?

Facebook page mentions that his Aunt has called Toledo Detectives about the remains found and was told it will take time to identify..

Also just looking at google maps and where the remains are found seem to be a fairly straight route west out into a more rural area from where he was last seen near Blum and Holley streets

Unfortunately, Chelsea has been missing 3 weeks and Kevin 8 weeks. Even in cold..state of decomp at 3 weeks is pretty advanced.

Yea i think Hannah graham was found almost fully skeletonized about a month after she went missing according to the searcher who found her

That was because of the vultures, this body was buried a whole different scenario. IMO

It also depends on when the body had been discovered, if it wasn't discovered until after the area had been tilled or as they were tilling it identifying the body will not be easy. I have not heard anything about this from my end yet, nothing has filtered down to me I think I'll keep this under my hat until they identify the body especially with my father-on-law being a farmer they don't really need that vivid a picture unless it proves to be her.

I know there is a very real possibility that Chelsea's situation could have a bad ending, I've been preparing for that possibility since she went missing,

The above link I just posted states the farmer was tilling and thought he hit a hole...
http://www.toledoblade.com/local/2014/11/15/Human-remains-found-in-grave-in-western-Lucas-County.html

Steve Kahle, coroner's investigator, said a farmer discovered the shallow grave around 2:30 p.m. after hitting what he thought was a hole while operating farm equipment in the recently harvested field.

It it has been on our local news, so it will be hard to keep them from finding out, I am afraid. My heart, hopes, and prayers are coming to all of you. Stay strong and keep searching. I am not giving up my hopes.

I called the girls to give them a heads up so they don't potentially get blindsided tomorrow, they are going to follow up with LE.

They just said on wtol that the remains were "mostly skeletal"
