^ I came across that article over the weekend but wasn't sure if it was an acceptable blog.

ooops..... I guess I don't know that, either. Can we not link to blogs?

I think it was OK, as it was just a link.

Social Networks

Regarding Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and other social networking or blog websites: Links may be used to direct posters to view something on a social networking page. But postings on social networking sites are not considered fact; they are rumor. Copying and pasting, or taking screen caps, directly from these pages is not allowed. Paraphrasing is okay. (Exception: If the Twitter or Facebook post belongs to a verified news station, it may be copied. But a link should still be provided.)

Also, social networking pages may only be linked if they are directly related to a case, i.e. the victim or suspect. We don't want to post to someone's mother, brother, employer, milkman, or postal carrier just because they know the main player. We also NEVER link to minor's pages (unless they are the victim). And be sure that the page actually belongs to the person being discussed. Do not link to someone if you are not 100% sure it is the correct person. And if a social networking is set to private and you get in the back way, you may not post what you find. Private means private!

^ I know that some blogs aren't permitted here along with other crime-related sites. Those links probably end up as ***** in posts.

Learned a couple of new things from post above ^^

Whereas I had thought she had contacted a friend for a ride home, in fact she had not.

She's been following this band to other events.

She had gotten a mug and perhaps a drink from someone.

So -
I wonder if a false sense of trust resulted from her seeing the POI at previous events; thinking he's a kindred spirit who's safe - even if she hadn't spoken to him before...

The reverse could have happened, POI following the band notices she following the band and targets her...

She may have gone to the parking lot hoping to see someone she knew who could give her a ride; the mug giver offers her a ride...

Could the giving of a mug be the POI's way of breaking the ice with women? Wonder if he's done that before, at other events... give a gal a mug/drink; then hope to meet again in a parking lot...

Wow, this is a difficult case. A true case of "3-no's" and really seems to show advance planning.... without planning, a spur-of-the moment attack after a long night with dawn approaching by the time evil deeds are done - lots of chance for mistakes...

The

I think I also remembered she was sleeping over a friends house after the party, or am I wrong? This person might have said to her, oh don't worry about your ride, everyone's been drinking tonight so I will just drop you off, it's on my way.

Maybe the "change of clothes" in her friend's trunk included jammies or sweats.

And maybe she also had a sweatshirt for when/if the night got cooler. I don't recall hearing she had a change of clothes with her, nor anything about spending the night somewhere, though that would be logical at that age.

I have seen that in some posts, not with my own .... yet. Thanks BDE! Wish there could be a list of what is/isn't allowed. I get so confused about it sometimes.

Is there a clear shot of the mug she was seen holding? If so, would it be possible to scan the photos of the party for someone holding the mug (or a similar mug) prior to her having it? If there is a link to photos please post.

^ I saw the travel mug photo this morning but don't know where it is :blushing: I also wonder if the mug has a logo on it? Might make it easier to determine where it came from.

This is the only pic I remember seeing of the mug (snipped from a group photo). I can't read anything on it, but it looks like writing on the right side? (I just did a Google search for Chelsea Bruck, images)

^ It's the group photo that we discussed a while ago about the guy who had facial injuries. Can someone enlarge the mug so we can see the logo?

If you look at the Find Chelsea Bruck FB photos, and the Monroe Sheriff's FB, which has the same image, you can see they're taken around the same time with the mug hanging from Chelsea's fingers in some of the posters and a phone or camera in her hand. Those friends in those pictures had been in touch to identify themselves with the Sheriff's office soon after their picture went up on the page. There may be a chance that LE may have asked about the mug, what was in it, and if it could have been something that had had some ill effect on her, since I think LE may have had a chance to speak to the people around her in those pictures. None of that was discussed at the Sheriff's PC in relation to it being possible that she left the party for that missing hour her friends were looking for her.

Maybe Kilen can help us figure it out?

However, Chelsea, having been seen by the bonfire at 3 am, refusing a ride from a HS friend there, why would she if she didn't expect her friend to show up at some point? Between 3 am and 3:15 am what could have changed that she would then accept a less safe ride? She may have felt some measure of safety with this POI to walk toward the parking lot area, but it is hard to know how much, if not one other person at the concert seems to know him?

The vendor saw Chelsea and the POI just before they headed toward the parking lot. The vendor talked to them, Chelsea was said to have been okay, not off her rocker or anything at the time. My question is could the vendor have sold them a liquid drink of any kind? Could that drink have been spiked by the POI by the time they actually got to the car and had an effect on Chelsea, after 3:15 am when the vendor saw them?

There's an ultra depressing post made on January 4 at 10:56am by DW
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1492405374366496/

[ETA: in a nutshell = commenter is venting because they contacted the area's satellite FBI center in Ann Arbor and they didn't know who this missing person Chelsea Bruck is...the person said they are calling Washington.]

It's hard to believe after 300,000 missing posters have been distributed, as Chelsea's mom said in this report dated Jan 1st they still don't have the POI after 140 or so tips... http://www.13abc.com/story/27744991/chelsea-brucks-mother-vows-to-keep-searching-in-2015

SO why isn't this THE ONE & ONLY POSTER being circulated:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1492405374366496/1493293397611027/

There are six to choose from I only see one has POI sketch:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1492405374366496/files/

The REWARD of nearly $27,000 being offered might get someone talking if that info was added to the POI poster...

One more thing - one of those bands is playing in Westland (33 miles from Munroe) on January 10th - can any locals get the POI poster OUT THERE?

Pictures speak louder than words or hidden hearts. Why resist putting the POI picture so much? I don't get it? Maybe somebody can explain or not. tiresome

Why would a bemefit have been declined?

I recall reading that Chelsea brought the mug with her, it was a "bring your own beverage" and the thought was that it may have been a warm drink (spiked cider or coffee perhaps). I know the jug she had was found but no mention of the travel mug or camera/wristlet that I am aware of.

I have been researching Missing Person cases and one article states that the very first thing that should be done is to get the missing person in the NCIC database. This connects cases across states, nationally.

Something else I found staggering is that 70% of violent crimes against women is by SOMEONE THEY KNOW! 70%!!!

I have also tried to figure out the odds of a person who's gone missing, to have personally known someone that was murdered, and who went to the same high school, who came from same city. It just seems these 2 young women lived relatively non-risky lives to have such a random act of violence occur.

Thank you for all this. It's great context to know. It does seem odd, doesn't it? The creep who killed Julia has a nasty nasty mind it seems, from the way she was found and may have a good sense of self preservation it would seem, by the fact that there are no clues, so totally capable of having made Chelsea disappear. The thought that it could be the same person in both their cases, going back that far, that committed, that much need and caution to strike again seems pretty ominous with all kinds of implications.

JMO...if it was my child missing the last thing I would want to promote is another event that by all intent and purposes contributed to the disappearance of my child.

Chances are the POI would not attend, and those that would attend would probably be there for the party. Worse yet, risk something else happening to another person. JMO...
