hockeymom, you are putting a lot of thought into this. Thank you for that. We may have to go all the way back to the first thread for some of the info you questioned. Was it not the "sketch guy" Chelsea was talking to near the bonfire? I am not sure about that, and do not have time to go back through right now. I do know a lot of tips have been called in about possible matches to the sketch, and none have apparently panned out (at least that LE has let the public know). One young man even went to LE and said -- people thought it was him. It wasn't.

We get so little that LE may know, so it is hard to say if they actually have suspicions or evidence, even if very small. I do wish they shared something, anything, to keep this going.

As as for no one seeing the, together, it is possible others did. Unfortunately, if they did it was at a time when there was no reason to be vigilant about collecting evidence, so they had no reason to pay attwntion to specific details. A quick glance, she was with a guy, she spoke to a guy, no idea of what he looked like. I have been to gatherings (dinners, reunions, etc) where there was no drinking or loud distracting music and the next morning I still cannot tell you what my best friend or closest cousin was wearing. I would not be able to say if Sue was taller than John (not real people!) or if Carol has blue or green eyes. If there was no reason to be paying close attention to this individual, nothing to draw attention to him specifically, then he could blend in very well without anyone remembering much about him that would be helpful.

One other thing .... not knowing where the POI could be from, what if this person has committed suicide afterward, for whatever reason? Very little would draw attention to the Monroe area if he was actually somewhere else. Then we might never know what has happend. Just another possibility that mulls through my head at times.

JMO, of course.

ETA:
I cannot find info about whether sketch guy was around the campfire, particularly when Chelsea was talking to a school friend and used that girl's phone. Thus, I could be wrong about him being there. possible, wither way, I suppose.

We had a touch more snow overnight, and expect a few days with snow during the week. It is going to be a late season for the farmers to get out into their fields this year.

There are so many cases out there where people are "missing" but never officially reported. Maybe he didn't have family to report him missing. Maybe he is already missing from another area and there hasn't been a connection made. Also, I know of a lot of young adults around my age who are simply not settling down in any one place. They kinda couch surf around the country, one friend to anothers, sometimes following a scene, others are just following their hearts desire. My point here is not everyone who isn't around would be considered missing.

Yes, BeachBabe. I agree. Thanks for adding it. Many reasons someone may be "missing" but not a " missing person" .

Don't want to start a wild goose chase at all, and I'm just not good with the sketch to real judging of perp images, so see what you think?

He should be easy enough to eliminate.

on here

Doing an image search for him can take you to some unsavory sites, so beware, doesn't seem related. Didn't find much.

Now if he had stolen things before or shortly have Chelsea went missing, and if they were of a nature that could be used in an abduction, then that would be something..... were there any shop-lifting reports back then? Gas station, or convenience store robberies? Stolen car? - anything a perp on the run might need...even bogus check cashing...

Yep, there was a gas station in Maybee, very early in the morning a day later though. Unseen burglar entered through the back and knocked the attendant out, IIRC.

The skeleton detective would call this interconnected monkeybusness. I would try very hard to solve that case!

Neat. None of those terms are familiar to me, could you start with skeleton detective, if you wish?

If he has even the loosest connection to PAP or any of the bands that played at that fateful Halloween party, then I'd say you have a very strong POI. The looks are close enough that I gave it an eyebrow raise....

I don't even come close to rating a Mr. McGoo sleuthing badge, but just an image search of this guy's name was a no go for me, so no idea what to make of it, but doesn't seem possibly related

Wasnt that the first name in the comments of that article that raised a bunch of eyebrows? Something like makes you wonder if what he said was true.

Not sure what you're referring to. I don't see any comments on the link on the O/T post.

Could whomever took Chelsea been keeping her there near Maybee? Looking at map https://www.google.com/maps/@41.9879923,-83.5277439,12z
Maybee seems remote, and inland - the kind of place only someone familiar with the area (and would feels comfortable there) would go there -- if indeed, this is related to Chelsea's abduction... Wonder if any reports prior to Chelsea's abduction of wrong-doings around Maybee...

More than 24 hours later though, that could mean, hunkering down overnight somewhere near there, needing cash to get further or completely unrelated, the morning after Chelsea was reported missing, IIRC. To take that risk, if it had anything to do with Chelsea being taken away, seems foolhardy, if it involves the same individual/s or perp/s.

A fundraiser raised more than $4,000 to help bring Chelsea Bruck home was held Friday night at a Clinton Township bowling alley. Congratulations! Let's keep looking for Chelsea!

Seeing the poster shown again in the fund raiser - Perhaps the picture of the POI should be removed at this point. I say that because what if the the sketch is wrong (even bogus) - and as long it's shown, the real perp rests easy knowing they're chasing the wrong person....

Just want to say "hello" to everyone who's been faithfully following this case. I read new posts daily but have nothing to contribute since there's been no news for a while. My thoughts and prayers for Chelsea and her family continue.

:phone:As spring thaw approaches, Team Chelsea should be working on a tactical search mission, and starting to rally volunteers. (Pending LE's blessing and guidance of course). I know there are K9 SAR teams in the area, or not too far away. Does anyone know if plans are being put in place in anticipation of spring weather? Further, there should be a communications strategy with the community; alert hikers, campers, etc. to keep an eye open for any potential evidence.
Finally, one of the best resources available for volunteerism are the seniors of the community. They have the time, and a strong desire to serve and help our communities. This is an excellent opportunity for them to man/person the phones, monitor social media, post flyers, organize spaghetti feeds at the church, etc. Speaking of the church (Mrs. Bruck's), the church is an excellent resource for organized senior groups. Go Silver Citizens, help bring Chelsea home!

Community support is still going strong here. Weather is definitely not cooperating. Still getting more snow and icy rain this week. Thaw will be later than normal. When it does thaw, we are going to have big muddy messes to deal with before much walking in areas can be done.

New fliers get posted and sent out to other areas, donations still come, there was another benefit (bowling) recently. Family, friends, and volunteers have not stopped.

Personally, I believe the local efforts have been and continue to be fantastic.
