The leaves on her costume may have trapped hairs, lint, carpet, etc. , blood stains if any. Possibly semen could still be found. Actually, quite a bit could still be preserved if the items stayed in one place, were not disturbed by animals. Kind of a "frozen in time" situation, since it was winter and a lot of snow cover would hold it in one place. Just my thinking, of course.

I saw on Forensic Files recently another case where they were able to lift a fingerprint off a pillow case.

THIS IS O/T AND NOT RELATED TO CHELSEA'S CASE, but I've been wanting to mention how much the building here reminds me of Jessica Ridgeway's case; here is a link to one of the photos from her case:

http://www.wxyz.com/news/chelsea-brucks-family-to-hold-news-conference-wednesday This link may work, BDE, and thanks for the other links.

Mrs. Leannda Bruck, Chelsea's mom said

"people give the police the space to do their work.

"We need to stress, this is our lives...not a police show,"

and that what LE found was

"indeed related to Chelsea."

rbbm

And she thanked the community for their help and support. They are waiting for the test results and holding strong, it seems to me.

Could you imagine trying to solve a case like this without tips/leads/ (public not involved?)

"What LE found was related" wait now? LE did not find what was related, but the public did.

In fact most cases are solve by the public getting involved and caring. I just wish the public would get more involved in these case because there would be less of them.

Is it possible that the people that hang there or have after parties haven't been there since winter started, and, now that weather has improved they went back to resume "after partying" and stumbled upon something? I am not familiar with the area. Just looked at photos.

Generally , these party spots are used by usually more then one groups of younger teenagers. As they get older they move on and graduate to party houses and so-on. Then the next generation takes over the spot .

occasionally the older teens will return to the area because they know and are familiar with its seclusion . I think the younger teens would take to someone's basement during the winter months. Spring is here, and it's possibly some younger teens came to visit their summer party hut and stumbled upon the costume, and contacted the police.

According to HFCB I believe her brother stated that someone walking (with their dogs perhaps) was who called it in to LE.

I know I cannot post from FB but it is her official *Missing* site.

Thank you, trigger. Good to see you.

It looks like from the stats that there had been some stuff going on around there. A few near there one can find on the map, other than those listed below. So, it may be an area known for drug activity and unruly, loud, criminal behavior around there from the park back towards the tracks, from the look of it.

Anything is possible. I do remember being a kid where we had one these party spots, and I had one or two friends that would sometimes bring their dogs there. Dogs are cool and we had fun watching them run around, chase squirrels and stuff.

The Find Chelsea Bruck Facebook site is operated and continually monitored by the family and is acceptable here. Just provide the link ;)
Update and live video from the presser this morning.

Mom and kass are so strong...I hate being a part of any of the news stuff. It makes me sick to even have to think about going on camera and talk about chels. I am so grateful they can still continue to talk to the press in order to keep the news of chels going. Thank you to everyone who continues to watch and search and support.

Agreed, it could also just be what they are reporting to the public too. It looks like the post is now gone or buried within all the thoughtful comments people are leaving. It is heartwarming to see how compassionate and kind people still are.

I got the impression that a woman that lived down the road was walking her dogs and called it in, I think she may have also found an artificial leaf in the ditch.

What is most troubling to me now is whether these articles of clothing have been there the whole time or if it was just dumped there.

In that case, if someone (besides Chelsea) has had the items in their possession since the night that Ms. Bruck disappeared, there could be a lot of DNA on the clothing and/or whatever else was found at the site.

This is puzzling because if some perp(s) subject(s) whatever had this stuff in their possession , why would they discard it in this manner?

On another note , why would they leave it in this area all winter knowing sooner than later it would be found?
