For anyone local-ish, there is going to be a candlelight vigil for Chelsea at the family’s home parish in Maybee. Please bring a candle and lighter if possible. Tuesday night at 8:30 pm, prayer and sharing to follow, purple ribbons will be available
St. Joseph’s Church (behind the church) 9207 Josephs Street Maybee, MI 48159

No interviews/statements from the family before that time.

I will not be attending, we have made the decision not to tell our daughter about Chelsea's fate yet as she is just too young to process this (she understands she is missing but like in the she got lost walking back home kind of way not that something bad could of happened). I'm not sure if Nate will be driving out there from Pennsylvania for the vigil yet or not.

Thanks for linking those, Spellbound. Here's one more, detailing the Peters Road, Flat Rock Easter search area, at which parts of Chelsea's Holloween constume were found. It includes photos of the area taken by Monster12:

Your probably right.

I don't think the perp/s are the sharpest crayons in the box ;) Leaving Chelsea's costume pieces (and possibly other items belonging to her) at a known local hangout, tossing her remains in an area likely known to the perp/s but not folks unfamiliar with the area, other possible evidence with blood and/or body fluids left at the dump scene, etc. Sounds more like the Three Stooges than criminal masterminds. My guess is it won't be long before LE makes some arrests. :moo:

Does this mean tomorrow, April 28? Thoughts and prayers for the Bruck family and all who loved Chelsea. :rose:

ETA: Tuesday, April 28 per multiple links posted by FindHG.

Something said during the PC;

They didn't find ALL of her costume. Has anyone contemplated the burning of evidence?

Or the attempt to burn evidence?

Thank you, Kilen, for sharing an invitation to the vigil with WSers here. This thread is so rich with locals here for Chelsea, I imagine it means a great deal to them that you have. You and your family are in our continued thoughts and prayers and we stand besides in seeking justice for Chelsea. May God give you all strength and perseverance. May sweet Chelsea's light and love help guide us all as she would wish.

Yes, the candlelight vigil is tomorrow night. The funeral date has not been determined as LE may need up to four weeks before they are able to turn anything over to us. I think they intend to announce the date as far in advance as possible so like everyone who wants to come has a chance to travel (family in different states).

It has to be hard waiting that month. I hope you two are able to get some rest and take time to care for yourselves. You've been so brave and perfect on this thread and a shining example of the extended Bruck family and community, low key, to the point and very effective. You all made what seemed impossible at times happen in one way or another.

The impression that I got from the Sheriff was that MAYBE half of the costume was found at one site, and the rest of it was found at the other.

Just a POSSIBILITY if you will.

The Bruck family released this statement today:

“Thank you to everyone for your kind words and prayer during this difficult time. We worked tirelessly for six months to find Chelsea. She has been returned to us and we take relief in knowing she is with our heavenly father. Our faith is strong and we continue to put everything in God’s hands. We appreciate everyone’s time, help, and funding no matter how big or small."

“Receiving this news has been devastating to our family. We spent our weekend with family and friends, sharing stories and memories of our Chelsea. We greatly appreciate the respect of our privacy. "

“We express our deepest appreciation for the tireless work of our county officials, specifically the sheriff’s department, detective bureau, city police, and state police. We as a family have received our answer, but our detective’s work will continue."

Yes, we have had some discussion about Detroit-Manheim Auto Auction so close. But there are restrictions on the public going there and the general public does not use the facilities to clean and detail cars. That is a service provided by the auction's employees. However, that is not to say that the perp/s are not employed there: perhaps that has been or is being checked out by LE.

On a side note: my DH showed me a pic of a large ATV in his hunting magazine, it was definitely capable of carrying a person/deer besides the driver. It could have certainly been driven by the rr tracks.

Thank you for a good post green eyed blonde. I agree that it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that the car auction place had anything to do with this crime. It is also very unlikely that LE would be wasting time checking into this business.

The truth is: if the killer came to the bash/party with a vehicle; then that means he already had one. There would be no need for him to stop by the car auction and get another one when he already had one.

I do like your four wheeler idea. The Sheriff even mentioned that there were a lot of ATV accidents around where the body was found. This means that people riding these ATV vehicles could have been using the area by the Railroad Tracks as sort of a party or hangout/parking spot.

The kids in the area would be familiar with both areas where the costume was found, and where the body was found. They were probably riding there ATV's in the other(where the costume was found) area as well.

I don't understand why there had to be a "special" vehicle involved in dumping Chelsea's body :waitasec: I honestly don't think the perp/s are smart enough to have gone to the trouble to rent, steal, or otherwise secure a vehicle to commit this horrendous crime. Whatever vehicle the perp/s drove to the Halloween bash is probably the vehicle that Chelsea got into thinking the guy/s would drive her home or to the friend's home with whom she rode to the party. If there is blood or other bodily fluids on upholstery in said vehicle, it is likely still there and will be found when a search warrant is sought for the vehicle. Until we know differently, I consider this a crime of opportunity and not a pre-planned murder. :moo:

Up thread there was conversation about the suspected flasher, he was arrested.

Ryan Daves, 38 of Fowlerville, was arrested following numerous tips from across metro Detroit. He has been charged with Aggravated Indecent Exposure by a sexually delinquent person. Daves was arraigned on April 26 in Circuit Court and issued a $10,000 cash bond with GPS monitoring.

Did he have the seats removed from his vehicle? Was it some kind of bus that he drove around in so he could stand up? Nice to know he had money and gas to drive all the way from Fowlerville to Bloomfeild to pursue his hobby.

Also, does this have anything to do with the case in this thread?

My feeling is the same as yours, BDE. I would imagine any old junker, pickup, 4-WD vehicle, or even a motorcycle could easily travel along those tracks. Perp may think there is no evidence in his vehicle, may have even cleaned it "well" ..... but it is there and will be discovered. I just don't think this eas pre-planned to be a murder. Something went terribly wrong, perhaps she fought back and was strangled or smothered. I can think of more possibilities, but nothing has indicated how this happened yet.

While I have mixed feelings about these displays, I do understand that people want to do something to remember our lost loved ones. I feel so bad for the property owners to have to see this on their property, though. The poor man did not appear to be in very good health already, and hope this does not cause him further anguish seeing it grow.
for the sake of sharing what is happening, I am posting a Twitter from the Toledo Blade crime reporter, R. Dunn.
