This is a screen shot from the video posted above. The piece of the dress is what I find to be interesting. It appears to be a large piece of her Poison Ivy dress and not just a leaf like i have read so many times before. This picture of the evidence makes it a lot more clear why someone called the police about it. Very interesting. I am assuming that he ripped it off of her with how large this piece of costume is.

Chelsea Bruck Case Map

This may help, it notes where Chelsea's handmade costume for that party was found. Thank you WildWild_West. I think he placed her costume to draw suspicion onto others.

Case moved to November. Additional evidence has become available so the judge moved the date to allow lawyers additional time. Witnesses will also speak at this hearing and is expected to last all day.

Thanks for the update, monster. I wonder what other evidence is available now that wasn't there before. Something from Clay's body or home?

ETA; found this explanation:
http://www.13abc.com/content/news/Court-appearance-for-Daniel-Clay-pushed-back-395203581.html

Clay's lawyer, Russell Smith, said this gives him time to go over more than 2500 documents his team received.

"Recently we received a lot of materials that was just forwarded to us that was consisting of additional reports, DVDs, videos, those types of things," said Smith. "It's important that the defendant is adequately represented. What the judge did was move the date to allow both the prosecutor and the defense attorneys to have adequate time to review all the materials."

Still a few more weeks until the trial. Any locals plan to attend? I would be so interested in hearing the detAils. Being it is suggested it will be an all day event, I would assume it probably won't be streamed?

Heartfelt prayers and thoughts for perseverance and strength for Kilen, the Brucks, their whole family, their friends, their community, and all of Chelsea's friends, for all among law enforcement who searched and found the answers, until justice is served and beyond.

May our sweetest friend rest in loving peace.

A preliminary examination for accused murderer and rapist Daniel Clay is expected to be held next week, a judge confirmed this morning.

First District Judge Jack Vitale held a brief probable cause hearing that was attended by the defendant, his attorney, Russell A. Smith of Temperance, and Monroe County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Michael G. Roehrig. Mr. Clay, his hair cut very short and his hands shackled, did not say anything during the hearing.

Testimony is expected to be heard during the preliminary examination on Nov. 2. After the hearing, which could last all day, Judge Vitale will determine if a crime was committed and if there is probable cause that Mr. Clay was involved in the crime...

Thanks for all the updates today, BDE. I know this is normal, but all these hearings leading up to an actual trial sure frustrate me. I wonder how long the trial will take. Monroe is not known for long trials, that I recall.

Mrs. Bruck was in court today. (Mr. Bruck was also there, can be seen in a photo on a Detroit News page), I imagine she will be there every day. I feel so badly for her. :tears:

Me too, Spellz. Mrs. Bruck and the family look stronger than ever before though, that I've seen them. My heart is with them and all those touched by this and who care, especially in MI. Thank you, BDE, for the news, and for all you do. I'm so grateful to have seen what it took to bring sweet Chelsea home and to pursue justice for her, at the same time :tears:

I wish the Bruck family strength the coming weeks. The trial surely will be a very difficult time.
There are still so many questions. Why, and how, etc. Did Clay know Chelsea before that halloween night?

  • #513
I have so much respect for Mrs. Bruck; she has been an icon of grace and stability in a situation that no mother should have to endure.
As difficult as the trial will be, it is what comes after. The holidays, the birthdays, the yearly reminder at Halloween. It's when the trial and the mission to seek justice for Chelsea has passed.
That is when the difficult task will begin. To have Chelsea's life not be remembered by her murder, but victorious through a beautiful life lived.

God bless the Bruck family, and sweet Chelsea in heaven.

I just realized tomorrow is the 26th. Appearing in the same room as him so close to the last time they saw Chelsea probably was so difficult for them. I still remember hearing about it and everything people were doing locally. [emoji20]

I think it's powerful actually, and I think St. Michael himself will be present standing next to Mrs. Bruck. JUSTICE for Chelsea!

Two years, and it is still not over. Such a long time to endure before the family can begin to move on with only having to remember the best of Chelsea. Lord, continue to give them the strength they need. I have much admiration and respect for how they have comported themselves.

In awe, me too.

One more day and it's back to the business of Justice for Chelsea. Interested to hear about/or see the new evidence and to hear the witnesses speak.
