I don't get it. Previous court proceedings in this case have had live stream. Bummer. I wanted to watch.

@local4priya is one for local channel 4 wdiv.

@monroenews: says expected to call 10 witnesses and last through tomorrow

@nimashaffe channel 7 reporter.

Sorry for no real links but I'm looking them up on the computer bc it's easier. I wonder if the judge doesn't want the other witnesses hearing what each other has to say? Seems with the amount of drinking or possible drug use may have "blurred" some of their memories. I couldn't stand looking at his face. It was almost like he had a smile. Ugh.

Some Twitters of those attending. I notice one says Laura Taylor was the one to testify to having Chelsea's belongings, but Renee testified to having the phone so I dunno...I missed Laura's testimony. Perhaps Laura had Chelsea's hoodie or purse, etc?

ETA, Priya says Renee said Chelsea was intoxicated. She specifically avoided ever saying that and in fact keeps saying she couldn't tell. "Intoxicated" was a word the lawyers used. This is why live feeds are important!

I really hope the differences in stories does not backfire somehow. [emoji30]

Becky on stand:

Prosecution asking about costume, Becky explaining it was hand made. Being asked to describe how she hand-sewed the leaves, Becky describing in detail (I assume this is to substantiate the evidence later).

Did you see Chelsea at the party? Yes, Becky first saw her at 11:30pm, to her knowledge was not there before that. Becky is not sure how Chelsea got there. Describing in detail what Chelsea looked like when she arrived, what she was wearing. She was carrying the glass jug, Becky says was part of her costume. Chelsea was happy. There was nothing unusual about her behavior. Chelsea approached her under the tent when they first met up. Remained there awhile, wandered around. Becky states Chelsea wandered off at some point and doesn't know who with. Becky says she doesn't think Chelsea was/would be hanging out with Renee (Penny). She next saw Chelsea after she ran into the pole. Chelsea didnt say she wanted to go home then. Becky left after 1am. She had to leave with "them"(her bf, the people she arrived with). Becky says Laura texted her after Chelsea hit her nose and had her stuff and wanted to give her the phone. Becky ended up with the phone and couldn't find Chelsea. Becky says she contacted Chelsea's family the next day to let them know she had the phone and Chelsea could come get it when she got home. Becky says Chelsea was fine after hitting her nose, was laughing about it.

Chelsea called witness #3 around 2:30am from someone else's phone. Poor Chelsea. She had no phone, no wallet, and no ride.

Defense questioning of Becky

Asking about nature of their work and positions ad Olga's. Were they good friends? Share confidences? Becky says yes.

What was the capacity of the jug of wine? Becky says it was a pretty nice size. Chelsea drank about 2 glasses of it. Becky does testify that they were with Penny together. Repeats testimony about not being able to find Chelsea to give her the phone before they left. Becky was falling over drunk. She states Chelsea did not seem intoxicated. When asked if she was with Chelsea when she hit the pole, "Right after, Her and Jessica told me about it." It was dark so she couldn't really see the injury clearly. She was not bleeding. She did not witness drug use or sickness. She did not observe Chelsea and Penny flirting with anyone. She did see them talking to the guys, she characterizes them as "friendly." Did Chelsea talk to Becky about her sex life? Prosecution objects that it isn't relevant. Defense says, the jury isn't here and the sexual proclivities is crucial to the court's understanding of the case (is he trying to say she put herself in this position so its her fault? I mean really) Judge is allowing it.

Defense questioning of Becky

Asking about Chelsea's sexual interests and conduct, was she promiscuous, did she like rough sex? Becky is trying her hardest not to answer. Prosecution objects again, judge sustains about specific line of questioning regarding promiscuity. Did you tell Detective Smith Chelsea was promiscuous and liked rough sex and liked being choked? Becky doesn't recall. Defense wants to show police report to "refresh her memory". Pro objects. Judge says the report is not admissible and the statements therein can't be verified. Becky is testifying she doesn't recall what she told the detective and isn't directly answering whether Chelsea likes rough sex or being choked (good for you Becky!)

I knew that Jessica, Daniel's ex was at the party. Becky mention's a "Jessica". Is this the same person? If so, Daniel's ex, who is friends with Chelsea, was with Chelsea at the party at least some of the time. Perhaps this is somehow how Chelsea came into contact with Clay.

Next witness: Jessica

Friend of Chelsea and also Daniel Clay. (they have a child together)

Jessica was at the party, did not know Mike personally (can't recall his last name). Went with her boyfriend. Planning to meet up with Chelsea, Becky, Heather. Got there 10:30-11PM. Chelsea was not there when she arrived. She met up with Chelsea about 11-11:30, not long after they got there. She did see Daniel Clay at the party. Saw him when he approached their group shortly after Chelsea arrived to say hi and try to get into the conversation. Daniel may have had someone with him but she isn't sure. She doesn't know if Daniel had interactions with Chelsea. Jessica avoided him because she was there with her new boyfriend. She saw him again before 1am, behind one of the souvenir tents, he was smoking weed, she walked up to ask for a hit. He was with someone she doesn't know. Jessica says she spent about 20 minutes with Chelsea, they went to watch the band, the next time she saw Chelsea was when the fire got lit and Chelsea had just hit her nose, about 1-1:30. Chelsea was upset, was concerned about her costume being messed up, Jessica tried to cheer her up. Jessica describes the costume. Asked about shoes, Jessica says she was wearing black flats. Jessica went to the bathroom, was really drunk, threw up and went to hang out by the car she arrived in till she sobered up enough to go home, didnt see Chelsea again.
Daniel never reached out to her about Chelsea until the night he went to jail, though Jessica says she know she mentioned Chelsea being missing before that as she was involved in the searches etc. Daniel called her from jail, left two voice mails. He apologized profusely, in the second one he was crying or upset. did he make references to going to prison? Defense objects not relevant (what??) Pro says it indicates guilt. Judge allows.

Defense questioning of Jessica:

Asking about jug of wine. Jessica didn't realize it was wine, did not see Jessica drink or use drugs that night. Asked about the accident, Jessica says Chelsea was mostly concerned about how it looked, it was dark so Jessica couldn't see the wound. Jessica admits to being drunk at this point.
Being asked about Daniel Clay, just confirms sexual history with him.
