Michigan doctor arrested in undercover child exploitation sting

A Michigan doctor was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in the aftermath of a Florida police investigation.

As a result of an investigation that started in June 2025, Dr. William J. Murdoch, who police say is a Michigan family practice doctor, was arrested by U.S. Marshals and will be extradited to Florida.

Police said Murdoch exchanged “stomach churning messages” and described how Murdoch allegedly planned to groom the fictitious child and “quickly turn the situation sexual,” police said.

“Murdoch, goes into detail of his demented behavior that is too explicit to share in its entirety; however, it varied in having a sexual relationship in multiple ways,” a statement from police read.
