Kudos to LE!

Tamera Rosenberg was the girl-friend of Edward Monday. It is not clear yet how the guy,
Devon Snell is connected. He is young enough to be her son, but he is not. It looks like
he is the killer, and she helped in some way (such as perhaps
moving the body, moving the truck, leaving misleading clues such as a phone call and a
text message). I wonder what the relationship was between Snell and Rosenberg, for her
to be willing to help him with the murder. The motive is still unclear. BTW, Snell is a convicted
sex offender and was on probation.

There is suppose to be another press release with more information on Monday. DS is described as a family friend, but IDK..spectulating the GF helped for a reason. Unbelievable, and very sad. I'm glad Edward Monday was found quickly and justice will be served.

(1) A person is guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree if he or she engages in sexual contact with another person and if any of the following circumstances exist:

(a) That other person is at least 13 years of age but less than 16 years of age, and the actor is 5 or more years older than that other person.

Latest info from LE: Monday was killed by blunt force trauma. Police believe that he
was killed either late Nov. 24 or early Nov. 25. They believe Monday was already dead
when a text message was sent from his phone to his son.

It does not really come as a surprise to me that the girl-friend was involved. She
did not make any public appearances to ask people to help find her boy-friend.

Original three charged with murder: Roger William Younglove, 23, of Adrian; victim’s girlfriend, Tamera Marie Rosenberg, 40; Devon Douglas Snell, 20, of Morenci.

In addition to the three murder defendants, two others will face accessory charges:

All three defendants remain scheduled for a preliminary examination beginning May 9, said Castleberry. Two others facing accessory charges also are to be part of the May 9 preliminary examination. Carl David Carmody, and Isiah Anthony-Paul Castaneda, both 17, were arrested in January as an investigation by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department developed evidence in the case.
Carmody, who is Rosenberg’s son, and Castaneda allegedly helped Snell conceal Monday’s body in a brushy area along Ranger Highway in Medina Township near Morenci. The body was recovered by sheriff’s deputies on Dec. 10

Open murder charges against each will be dismissed at sentencing Dec. 1 as part of a plea agreement.

While Rosenberg and Younglove pleaded guilty to the same charges, they face different possible penalties. Rosenberg faces up to five years in prison on each charge, but Younglove’s penalty could be 10 years due to prior convictions for aggravated burglary and theft less than $500 in 2012 in Tennessee.

Two teenagers, Carl David Carmody and Isiah Anthony-Paul Castaneda, admitted in May to helping dispose of Monday’s body, but not knowing his body was in a trash container they helped put in a pickup until they stopped along Ranger Highway, north of Morenci. All three are scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 9. Snell agreed to a plea agreement with a 35-to-70-year prison term. Castaneda and Carmody face possible five-year sentences.

I went to school with Tamara and obviously we have several mutual friends. ( Growing up in a smaller town and all ) I was absolutely dumbfounded when I had seen her photo on the front page of our Telegram as being one responsible for this poor mans death, may he rest in peace.
About 3 weeks ago, I was advertising some of my daughters clothes she had outgrown on FB yard sale page & it ended up being a CLOSE relative of Tamara's who bought them & come to pick them up. On account of the last name being different, (she was married) I didn't realize at first who she was until we started talking.
Of course this person & Tamara's version of events..a bit different.

Devon Douglas Snell of Morenci was sentenced to 35 to 70 years in prison by Lenawee County Circuit Judge Margaret M.S. Noe. The sentence was part of Snell’s guilty plea in May to a second-degree murder charge when he admitted to killing Monday during an argument Nov. 24 at Monday’s home in the Lee Villa Estates in Raisin Township.

“If he would’ve gotten a million years, it wouldn’t bring my son back,” Monday’s mother, Geraldine Martin, said after the hearing. “He should’ve gotten more time. He took my son’s life.”

Two co-defendants also were in court Wednesday, Noe sentenced Isiah Anthony-Paul Castaneda, 18, of Adrian to a year in the Lenawee County Jail with the last six months suspended and five years on probation. Carl David Carmody, 18, of Raisin Township had his sentencing postponed until Nov. 30 due to a disagreement on the calculation of his minimum sentencing guidelines.

Assistant Lenawee County Prosecutor Douglas Hartung thanked the court for allowing time to secure the five guilty pleas, to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department for its tenacity in the investigation, and to the Monday family for their patience and understanding.

“Mr. Monday’s mother and his sons never sought revenge for what happened but rather were in search of justice for what happened to her son and their father,” Hartung said. “I hope all of them feel a sense of that justice will be reached today.”

Hartung said the “murder committed by Devon Snell is so unimaginable, so inexcusable, and so unforgivable, these deliberate, cruel and cold-blooded acts more than justify the sentence that this man is about to receive.”

Noe told Castaneda he was drawn into a “terrible crime,” but she could not excuse his role in it because of his age and his childhood experiences.

“The people that should’ve been taking care of you all your life didn’t,” she said, but the act also demands accountability.

“Because of you and the disrespect that was given to Mr. Monday and his family when he was left is a horrible memory for his family to preserve,” Noe said, “and I believe you when you say this is a horrible memory for you to maintain as well.”

Was the motive ever given? Other than a friend stated a possible love triangle? Which makes little sense to me considering the ages of everyone. I can't believe a mother asking her son for help to conceal a body! No one needs a Mom like that! So many involved in the killing, obstruction, concealing...how did they think they would get away with this??????? All prison sentences were much too lenient, IMO!

Sentences for three defendants in a year-old murder case were delayed this week.

Tamera Marie Rosenberg, 41, and Roger William Younglove, 24, were scheduled to be sentenced Thursday by Lenawee County Circuit Judge Anna Marie Anzalone for their roles in the murder of Adrian store owner and farmers market master Edward Monday. Carl David Carmody, 18, was to be sentenced Wednesday by Circuit Judge Margaret M.S. Noe.

Rosenberg and Younglove pleaded guilty in September to being accessories after the fact and obstructing justice. Carmody pleaded guilty in May to being an accessory after the fact.

Rosenberg’s and Younglove’s sentences were rescheduled for Dec. 20. Carmody’s sentencing was rescheduled for Dec. 9.

Monday murder case sentence delayed

A man who pleaded guilty to being an accessory after the fact to the murder of an Adrian store owner had his sentencing delayed Friday in Lenawee County Circuit Court.

Carl David Carmody, 21, now is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 28 after sentencing guideline calculations are determined.

He originally was to be sentenced Nov. 9, but a disagreement over sentencing guidelines led to delays to Nov. 30 and again to Friday.
