http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2014/07/witness_brady_oestrike_told_ab.html

The witness works at an Eastown bar and described how Oestrike came in three months ago and bragged about his actions. The witness did not want to be identified, but Oestrike allegedly told her and others that he had a woman tied up at his house.

He supposedly met the woman on Craigslist, picked her up and then put her in a suitcase and into his trunk before apparently taking her to his house.

Bar staff called police on a non-emergency number asked them to look into it. The bar worker claimed police did respond, and discovered that Oestrike allegedly had a contract with the woman for role-playing. She was not harmed.

This is so tragic for the families involved.

I am not a prude but so many people are getting hurt/killed chasing the ultimate sexual experience. This is also happening in Australia.
We had a married millionaire who was into swinging. Turned up at an arranged house without a partner. They got into an argument resulting in the millionaire being killed and incinerated by the husband and wife. So many bad things happen when soliciting on line for way out sexual experiences.

Charles and Brooke probably never thought there would be trouble because there were two of them . I wonder who instigated the threesome.
At 8 months pregnant wow! Do we know if they were advertising for a man or a woman? Charles looked like he could handle himself but if this was planned and a gun involved he probably didn't have a chance. JMO

From OkieGranny's link, there is this quote, with the emphasis from me:

"However, at least two Craigslist ads in the past month appear to describe Slocum and her boyfriend by the ages and descriptions cited. In the ads, a woman is looking for services. The Grand Rapids Press/MLive.com is not detailing the content of the ads because they have not been verified as being from Slocum and Oppenneer. "

This is the Websleuths stance on these purported ads also. They are not to be linked up or pasted here, unless they have been verified and then, we will use discretion. So if you come across the ads, please check with one of the Parking Lot mods before posting/linking them.

http://www.mlive.com/news/grand-rapids/index.ssf/2014/07/search_for_clues_evidence_in_t.html

Detectives were sifting through the Taft Avenue SW home of suspect Brady Oestrike on Saturday, hoping to develop reasons why he might kill a pregnant Brooke Slocum, 18, and her 25-year-old boyfriend, Charles Oppenneer.

"We'll eventually be able to talk about what we think may have occurred here, but right now I believe it would be irresponsible to start discussing some of that," Wyoming police Capt. Kim Koster said.

A Craiglist connection apparently is taking a center focus in the investigation... Police determined that Slocum had some type of Craigslist-related conversation with Oestrike just before midnight on Saturday, July 12.

Meeting partners online is just like anything else, so many precautions to take, so many people rushing into things because they feel "safe". And I say this being. Polyamourous person who met her secondary partner on Craigslist(who just so happens to be a kind gentle amazing person). Tis is so tragic.

Greg Slocum described his daughter as caring.

<snip>

But, Slocum said, his daughter was also naive and too forgiving. Two weeks before she disappeared, she was supposed to move in with her mom. Instead, she got back together with Oppenneer.

Greg Slocum said his daughter would do anything to keep her new family together, “no matter what it took — and she paid the ultimate price for it.”

“Even to meet men on Craigslist to make some money because her boyfriend was manipulative,” Slocum said. “She would put herself through hell just to make sure her family didn’t get divorced.”

Dad found letters she wrote to her daughter:

In them, she talked about why she met men through Craigslist to have sex.

He had caught her once an warned her of the dangers of meeting strangers for sex, but she was a teen with a mind of her own.

The badly decomposed body of 18-year-old Brooke Slocum, who was 8 months pregnant, was found in the trunk of Brady Oestrike’s car Thursday night after he crashed on a US-131 overpass in Grand Rapids. Her baby did not survive.

Well that's new.. Badly decomposed?!

Per press conference -

"Details are disturbing.. Over 400 items removed from Brady's home, including restraints and evidence he held Brooke in captivity for a small amount of time before murdering her... Brooke's COD is strangulation. Believed to be murdered the same day her body was found.. Charlie's COD is still unknown at this time because it was trauma to the head, but his head was removed and is missing, they have yet to locate it... A meeting for sex was in fact arranged for Saturday July 12th, Charlie was to be there as well... Dozens of firearms and ammunition, knives and other weapons were recovered in Brady's home.. Property belonging to Charlie and Brooke were also located in his home... FBI is assisting. Brady did have prior DV complaints but charges were never Pressed."

Police are checking to see if there is any link between Brady Oestrike, the deceased suspect in the murders of a Wyoming couple, and the abduction of Jessica Heeringa.

http://fox17online.com/2014/07/21/w...riend-speaks-out-amid-disturbing-discoveries/

For Andrew Weener it’s a time of shock and mourning. He said the man who was his best friend and served as groomsman in his wedding is the same man Wyoming Policed named a suspect in the killings of a local couple and their unborn child.

“I’ll never be able to put this entirely behind me, but just to know what happened exactly so I can explain it to myself,” Weener said... It’s an ending for Oestrike that Weener said he can’t make sense of after meeting him at church more than a decade ago.

“He always wanted to meet a good woman, settle down and have a family,” Weener said. “I lost my best friend and I know they [Oppenneer and Slocum] had friends and that’s got to be hard, too. Whatever the situation was, a lot of people died and it’s just never... it’s not good any way you look at it. It’s gonna be sad for everyone involved.”

I can't imagine being his friend. It must be such a shock!
Killed the same day she was found, and badly decomposed? How does that work?
Beheaded?! What on earth was wrong with this man?!!
