MI - Gunman opens fire at Central Michigan Univ., kills parents James Davis Sr. & Diva Davis, 2018

There’s a big casino right there. My Mom thinks he may be blending in there. I don’t think so. There’s got to be cops everywhere.

I'm with you in thinking he didn't go to the casino. It'd be nice if he did, there is a ton of video surveillance in casinos.

What a tragedy.

He seems to be a big fan of basketball, is there a game going on somewhere?
Eyes would be on the game, not the crowd. imo.

Detroit is only two hours away but the Pistons are in Orlando. Tonight's CMU game is postponed.

No Game Tonight: Western-Central Men's Basketball Matchup Postponed

An update: The Western Michigan at Central Michigan men's basketball game scheduled for this evening will not be played today, CMU Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford said.

The game will be rescheduled soon, Alford said, and details will be announced once they are confirmed.

That makes me wonder if he took the wallets of this parents? Maybe he has money to hide out?

I saw that he liked Basketball too from his twitter messages. Maybe there is a local park or indoor YMCA where he played pickup basketball.

Any public basketball court would be a prime place for LE to look for him. He may want to go to where he knew some friends that played BB with him.

His twitter also had two posts that joked about smoking "grams".
That could be a hint of what type of drugs he may have went to the hospital for.

Many years ago I would guess hash or coke but these days I am out of touch what a "gram" would mean.

def not hash anymore...unless I got super out of touch all of a sudden. gram could be anything really, meth, crack(you don't smoke coke nowadays) heroin etc etc. Ketamine and meth are the two most likely to cause a psychotic break. From the twitter I just took it to be weed....gram is merely a measuring unit.

Unless the hospital chimes in we won't know for sure....

If this shooter just got release by Hospital @ 8 AM same day and he killed his parents within an hour or so.. Pretty well will expect HC ( hospital to indicate drug levels/Mental stability clearances) to be able to clear him of any danger to himself or others!! Obviously HE did not fit such a "Profile"!! Whomever cleared him will and should beheld responsible!! As to his availability to GUN is another question!

It's coming to the point, IF anyone in one's family unit who's any unstable family member.. BEST get rid of/ turn in their weapons TOO.. otherwise said UNSTABLE one can get ahold of Weapons!! Loopholes are being exposed almost daily.. NRA says ZERO acceptance of any regulations.. Kind of tells you the story/ reasons for such gun violence!!!

You would think hospitals would do that, but they released my ex after 10 because he talked his way out of it, he came back to my house in pretty much a psychosis and I had to call 911 again and specifically request a 72 hour mental hold. Now, he only broke my foot, but it could have been worse. Maybe that's why I have little faith in hospitals I suppose. I really hope this is not similar

19 yrs old male with a mental health issue.......anyone see a pattern here?

Still not found....

Surveillance cameras captured footage of Davis running out of an exit on the north side of Campbell Hall and then running toward a set of railroad tracks on the west side of the campus.

Police were planning to continue door to door checks in the neighborhood of Maple and Cherry streets until dusk on Friday. Michigan State Police helicopters will be searching overhead for much of the night.
ABC12 Chief Meteorologist JR Kirtek said chilly temperatures on Friday definitely would help searchers using infrared and thermal imaging equipment will make their jobs easier.
Davis' thermal signature would be easily detectable against other objects, which also would be cold.
"If he's out there and not in a shelter, they might be able spot him pretty easily," Kirtek said.

I so so sorry for your personal experience.. BUT as far as to getting committed also depends on how they go into ER/Hospital to begin with! Most high level manipulators CAN and try to talk their way out of their situation.. many looking for meds... BUT unless background info is known ..how are Medical assessment expected to assess it appropriately!!

My,experience in frontline ER recognized " Unstable" often sought background and I didTALK toasting Physicians.. and due to my experiences often opted to " Formed" therefor as you stated ( 72 hours) resrtained/HELD ..but the difference is.. when affected parties such as yourself doesn't share or gives input.. etc>sweet talkers often get released! It's with/when evidence comes to light that informed decisions can be made!!

Course I've witnessed some unhinged types.. PULL out their IV's and run out of department minus their cloths and their BareButt's flashing astray scampered away... IF that wasn't funny.. The issue was.. 911 operators reported backyard..road sighting and escapee was CAUGHT!!!

I really could write books about my experiences.. BUT what's most critical is having HC providers who KNOW how to deal with them..and sure HOPE and PRAY anyone being affected by their behaviour can be available!! .. 72 hours is only 3 days!!

Smoking grams is most likely a reference to smoking marijuana.

he went in via 911 for psychosis on what was originally also supposed to be a hold. the problem with meth is it doesn't wear off right away. even the police found it ridiculous when they were called back out less than 24 hours later.

to the credit of the police they did not return him to that same hospital after the second 911 call....so he did get the full 72 hours. the first hospital had the full initial report which included putting holes in a wall with a bat. I'm really not sure what additional information the first hospital needed....? I dunno, maybe I missed something?

In any case, whereever he is now he must be freezing....I can't imagine living there right now, I'd be kinda worried about safety. Hopefully something shows up soon

Also, was this kid just doing drugs by himself? At his age on a college campus that seems a bit odd. You would think maybe he had friends around....if anything he may reach out to them at some point....especially if it's freezing there.

Thanks, I should have checked before I wrote my comments lol. I'm curious about this train, but totally unfamiliar with the campus.

I see different reports about the arrest and I'm tired so I should just be going to bed! Curious to see how this plays out later.
