Witness 37: Donald Olsen of the Detroit Police Department.
He went to scene in Detroit where Jane Bashara's SUV and body were discovered.
George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN · Detroit, MI
Olsen responded to the scene where Jane's body was found.
Cops from Detroit and Grosse Pointe Park were already there.
It was a cold morning...Olsen saw Jane's SUV in the alley....they're showing pix of the vehicle.
Olsen describing the neighborhood where Jane's vehicle was found: "There’s garbage and debris, overgrown branches." Abandoned houses
Normally, he said, the tires would've been gone, along with other equipment, like airbags. But Jane's car wasn't touched.
Judge: "You're telling me people would take an engine out of a car?"
Olsen: "Yes, Ma'am."
Because nothing was stolen from Jane's SUV, Olsen said that was a red flag that something was amiss.
