The officer returned to Bob's house at 4:45 am; Bob was shirtless, and rubbing his eyes as if asleep, Hayes said

Moran: "The next witness was going to be Gregory Baraca (sp?)" But he's in the hospital for 2-3 weeks.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 3m3 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Not sure who Baraca is, but defense stipulated to have him declared unavailable, and his statements will be read into the record

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 2m2 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Josh Holman will read what Gregory Baraka (sp?) said in an earlier hearing.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 2m2 minutes ago Detroit, MI
That's Gregory Barraco, a friend of Joe Gentz. His prior testimony is being read on the stand.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 2m2 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Barraco hung out with Gentz and Steve Virgona, the man who told Joe to turn himself into police for killing Jane

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 1m1 minute ago Detroit, MI
In late 2011: Gentz "Asked me if I would help him hurt some lady in Grosse Pointe."

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 1m1 minute ago Detroit, MI
"(Gentz) wanted to hit her with a big car" for $5,000.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 26s26 seconds ago Detroit, MI
Barracco said Gentz told him "It was Bob. He said he wanted to hit her car with a big car. He asked if I knew where he could buy a car at.”

In late January, Gentz called Barraco to ask for a ride from McDonald’s. He appeared nervous, he said

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 6m6 minutes ago Detroit, MI
So Barraco picks up Gentz from McDonald's. “He was walking back and forth and smoking a cigarette. He never does that unless he’s nervious.”

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 6m6 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Joe was talking on his cellphone. "He said he was going away for 20 years or more. He had a little scratch on his face."

Today's 4th witness: Cathy Young, realtor with Johnstone and Johnstone.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 2m2 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Oops, that's Kathy with a K. She said Bob and Rachel were looking for a house.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 14m14 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Young says Bob and Rachel looked at "quite a few" houses. About 15-20 or more houses.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 14m14 minutes ago Detroit, MI
She said they decided on a house "Several times, actually." One house was sold before they could make an offer.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 14m14 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Then they made an offer on a house on Bishop. They're showing a pic of that house; it's gorgeous.

Young originally had Bob and Rachel listed as purchasers, but he asked her to take off Rachel's name because "Grosse Pointe is a small town"

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 14m14 minutes ago Detroit, MI
Bob and Rachel backed out of house on Bishop because of something in the inspection, Young said.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 13m13 minutes ago Detroit, MI Young: “There was a room in the basement of the house on Bishop. When we opened the door Bob said this would make a great punishment room.'"

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 12m12 minutes ago Detroit, MI Young: "Bob said to me, 'You seem to be a very submissive person.’ I thought it was odd. My response was, ‘You don’t know me very well."

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 12m12 minutes ago Detroit, MI When Young changed the time of one of their meetings, Bob texted back, "*****, np" -- as in "no problem."

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 11m11 minutes ago Detroit, MI Bob and Rachel wanted the home on Kensington. Made an offer. A lot of copper piping was missing on the foreclosure home.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 11m11 minutes ago Detroit, MI The closing date for the house on Kensington was for the 27th of January -- days after Jane was killed.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 11m11 minutes ago Detroit, MI During a tour of another home, Young said "There was a comment (by Bob) in a different house that it would make a perfect dungeon."

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN 7m7 minutes ago Detroit, MI Bob picked up the closing packet for the house on Kensington just a few hours before Jane was killed.

First, 32nd witness, Joy Jolly, a family friend of the Basharas.

Second, 33rd witness, Lorna Beth Riikonen, ex-wife of Jim Wilson who was bb's golf and drug buddy. LBR also knows Joe Gentz.

Third, 34th witness, Terry Hayes, Public Safety Officer with the Grosse Pointe Park Department of Public Safety.

COURT TWEETS FROM THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2014

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN - Detroit, MI
Good morning from the #bobbashara courtroom!
All attorneys are here; waiting for judge and jury.

Today's testimony will include an undercover Detroit cop whose face we cannot show.
Also, prosecutors are testing video showing a walk-thru of the Bashara home.
Check that: Video appears to be Bob talking to cops.
The judge just entered the courtroom, as did #bobbashara, who turned around and shot a glance at Jane's family.

Jane Bashara's mother is seated behind media at #bobbashara today.

COURT TWEETS FROM THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6, 2014

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN · Detroit, MI
The judge took the bench -- and then went into a back room.
In another time-related matter, they fixed the courtroom clock!

#bobbashara looks to see who is in the courtroom Thursday.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN · Detroit, MI
Okay, the judge is back, and the jury is in the courtroom.
The 1st witness is undercover Detroit cop Investigator Donald Olsen.
Olson is a Detroit homicide cop.
That's Olsen, not Olson

marie osborne ‏@marieosbornewwj ·
#bobbashara trial witness #37 DPD invest.Donald Olson.
We can't show his face@WWJ950

Elisha Anderson ‏@elishaanderson ·
Witness 37: Donald Olsen of the Detroit Police Department.
He went to scene in Detroit where Jane Bashara's SUV and body were discovered.

George Hunter ‏@GeorgeHunter_DN · Detroit, MI
Olsen responded to the scene where Jane's body was found.
Cops from Detroit and Grosse Pointe Park were already there.
It was a cold morning...Olsen saw Jane's SUV in the alley....they're showing pix of the vehicle.
Olsen describing the neighborhood where Jane's vehicle was found: "There’s garbage and debris, overgrown branches." Abandoned houses
Normally, he said, the tires would've been gone, along with other equipment, like airbags. But Jane's car wasn't touched.

Judge: "You're telling me people would take an engine out of a car?"
Olsen: "Yes, Ma'am."
Because nothing was stolen from Jane's SUV, Olsen said that was a red flag that something was amiss.

marie osborne ‏@marieosbornewwj ·
Olsen talks about scene where Jane's SUV was found, usually this type of car would have been stripped##bobbashara
