It was mentioned upthread that the jury struggled with the Murder 1 charge. I'm not surprised and said earlier in the discussion that this charge was the only one that I would have to consider very carefully. I wouldn't have batted an eyelash at the other four charges and would have also said "guilty" immediately to the subornation of perjury charge that was dismissed. Has anyone found the jury instructions from Judge Evans? I'd like to know exactly how the Murder 1 charge was approached with the knowledge that Joe Gentz was the actual perpetrator and is serving prison time for same.

No but I do know (something Judge Evans said) that Conspiracy under Michigan Law gets you a Murder 1 charge. Given that the lies and the phone pings placed him near (we do know in the home) from the tower. Not at Hard Luck Lounge as he claimed. I figured as well that charge would be up for debate. I'm sure that's what the yelling from the Jury room was about. IMO. And a debate it should be. God Bless these Jurors. They got it right.
