So it appears that the ex-boyfriend was violent as well. My best guess is that he was involved in their disappearance.

This case is really getting to me. I just have so many questions.

I've been to Cadillac many times, and I know that area is harsh and unforgiving. It's totally possible they could succumb to the elements out there, but it's just so close to civilization, it seems like something else probably happened. But then again, I've heard of others being found a month or so after going missing in wooded areas that were also near civilization, who just kept getting turned around. I don't know. I hope they are located soon. Those babies need their mother.

I wonder if the three of them met up for some reason?

its said 1 of her shoes 1 of his shoes her swet pants her purse his wallet and keys were all found scattered about the area really strange, but one sleuther said in the final moments of freezing to death people get really hot and take their cloth's off and burrow into a corner or under something, so i looked it up and he was right its called paradoxical undressing very strange look it up.im really hoping they turn up at a friends house or were afraid to deal with the police or something but i dont know a mother on the planet that would leave her babies like this unless they were forced to, i hate the thought of someone being harmed for no reason or just on some crazy hunters whim, [h=1][/h]
Do they empty their pockets??

They were on a 2 track but within a mile of the road. It's unusual that they didn't follow the 2 track out. They passed houses on the way in, a mile and a half from there the truck was found stuck.

The arrow I drew points to the pipeline, that's the 2 track the truck got stuck on. Google wouldn't let me use that as the destination. You can see though that they could have walked North or South from the truck and would have ended up back at a road.

There was speculation that Jeff knew that area since he was a kid and knew that there were trails that led to Start City Rd. (Actually IIRC, someone said there is a 2 track that eventually becomes Star City Rd.)

Does anyone know if they were hikers? Did they enjoy the wilderness? It is not unusual for me and my friends to bundle up and explore trails in WNC or Tennessee in the winter. And if they were only a mile in, that’s an easy walk out.

Thanks. I thought the post above meant clothes found in the swamp, like in a body of water. Sounds like in the area of the swamp.
Lol, every time I read swamp, I think of the Everglades big Cypress or Fisheating Creek in the Lake Okechobie (sp?)area. Strange to know they have swamps so far north! Learn something new everyday!

Is it possible they ran off? I know She has kids but if she had a breakdown would it have been possible for them to have gone to Canada ? Just a thought

You must live in my part of the world! Upper East TN here.

I haven’t gotten the sense from SM that either of them are the outdoor adventure/hiking types but maybe they just don’t post about that sort of thing.

I could understand hypothermia, but they found their stuff very close to car with 1/2 tank of gas. And they emptied their pockets? You do that with hypothermia? Something is off here.

Sorry meant to just post, not piggyback on yours!

Right. Hadn't seen it posted here yet. A few men involved with alex with violent, criminal pasts, including the one she is missing with.

What else is off is there vehicle had half a tank of gas, why leave it?

If they were stuck, I could see leaving it to walk to a nearby house. But that's assuming cell phones were dead, had no signal, etc. And if they did leave to walk to a nearby house, why did they not walk down the road with houses they had just passed?

Do they empty their pockets??

I cannot find any information that mentions emptying pockets, although I suppose general confusing from hypothermia could cause irrational (to us) behavior. Exactly how close to the car were their belongings found? 50 ft? Half mile? Were they predominantly located in one area or was there a trail left behind?
------------------

Were they being followed? Did they go off roading in hopes of losing whoever was following? Why would their belongings be scattered about? Was someone looking for something?

Did they take off walking in the wrong direction? Maybe thought it was a shortcut?

Were there more than 2 people in the car when they drove to where they found the car?

Could they (or at least one of them) have been picked up by someone and be hiding out? Any acquaintances near the area where the car was found?

Did they even drive the car there? Could a male and female responsible for their disappearance have dumped the car and their belongings out there?

This whole case is freakin' weird.

Another cold case in MI of a murdered couple:
http://www.theoaklandpress.com/gene...couple-found-slain-execution-style-in-detroit

Posting as to an idea related to emptying pockets--maybe drug deal gone south.

I could kinda see that, but would they also take their clothes off? Wouldn't they be able to put them back on even if they were stripped down? I can't see anyone making them empty pockets, strip down, and then taking them to another location. It would be far easier to kill them where they were if that's what happened.

People with hypothermia get very hot towards the end and take off their clothes and try to cool themselves off.

New article from The Cadillac News: http://www.cadillacnews.com/news/po...cle_e111e4a9-9789-5f3a-aa6e-3bbbe8bb3738.html

Alex's stepmother shared the article to The Vanished Podcast Discussion Group in hopes of getting the word out farther.

She also brought up something I haven't seen mentioned anywhere before, but since it's a comment on social media, I'm unsure of whether I can relay the information here? Any tips? Would I need to see if she would be willing to join WS and get verified beforehand? She is actively engaging in the comments.
