Michigan State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in finding a missing Kingsley man.

Troopers from the MSP Cadillac Post were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in Cedar on Thursday. According to police, the vehicle was parked near the tennis courts and had been there all day. The owner of the vehicle is 40-year-old Jesse Jackman from Kingsley.

Jackman’s family has reported him missing. Troopers have searched the area extensively and have been unable to locate him.

According to MSP, Jackman’s family did not know why he would be in the Cedar area, as he has no ties or relatives in the area.

The distance is about 30 miles.

What an unusual story. Why is a car parked near tennis courts during the day considered "suspicious", where someone called it in for some reason? And why would you question why a man's car was located 30 miles from his home, stating he has "no ties or relatives in the area"? It's just 30 miles. His very HOME is "in the area".

Is there something not being said in this story? His family has reported him missing, but the pic being used appears to be his official driver license photo.

Still missing.

"It's a large area, so we know that there's no way that we could cover the entire area, but we're hoping to try to narrow things down," said Rachel. "I mean, our ultimate hope would be to find him, to have that closure, but the more volunteers that we have, the more area and the quicker the area would get covered."

If you're interested in volunteering, the search is happening Saturday at 8:30 a.m. at the park next to the Cedar Fire & Rescue Department.

Strange to me that the articles first mentioned his car was found near tennis courts but this one says it was found near the boat launch. Are there even any tennis courts in that location?

"On Thursday, April 7 the vehicle of 40-year-old Jesse Jackman of Kingsley was found unoccupied near the boat launch in Cedar."

NamUs shows:
"Jackman's vehicle was observed parked at a park in the village of Cedar, near a vast swamp and wooded area on 4/7/22. He is not known to have ties in the Cedar area."

MP99724 was removed today. MP90831 is still up.

Having grown up in MI, not terribly far from this area, my experience is that there are many small towns with lots and lots of forest between them. If my car had been found 30 miles from my home, though it seems close, it would be odd. There are lots of small towns within a 30 mile radius I have no known connections to. I now live in crowded So Cal where the same thing would probably be said. It would be out of character for my car to be found in most neighboring cities as I have no known ties to those communities.

I agree that there is more to this story that the family is most likely aware of.
