I used Paint to cut and paste the sketch of the POI and a RSO who lives within 2 miles of the Exxon as referenced in earlier posts and the resemblence is uncanny. Wish I could share but don't want to crucify someone with out hard evidence and don't want to violate Websleuth rules.

This is the guy I posted yesterday. If you look at google street view for the address listed as his residence, there appears to be a silver minivan in the open garage.

I called this information in to the Norton Shores Silent Observer tip line this morning.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has several recommendations for businesses to keep their employees safe -- one of those is having surveillance equipment.

24 Hour News 8 looked into the federal guidelines after the April 26 disappearance of 25-year-old Jessica Heeringa from the Norton Shores gas station where she worked. The Sternberg Road Exxon Mobil station did not have surveillance cameras.

I think it was otto who mention OSHA establishing these guidelines several years ago.


This article mentions safety of late night employees in regards to isolated areas, working alone, poorly lit spaces, no alarm systems, barriers, of surveillance cameras.

Found another arrest record from 08/06/2012. This picture is dead on match to sketch. Except square jaw and weight. Take a look on mugshotsworld.com

Initials are same for first, middle, and last name

What are the initials? Also, I note that the hair and face of the sketch kind of match someone related to this case who someone told me was ruled out early on.

The "10 out of 10" comment bothers me. I've seen professional portraits that weren't a 10 out of 10. Unless Shaw already has a suspect in mind, I don't understand how he can be so positive.

That is very odd of him to say.
If they know, it is probably time to put put an APB on him by name. Too many days have passed.

The "10 out of 10" comment bothers me. I've seen professional portraits that weren't a 10 out of 10. Unless Shaw already has a suspect in mind, I don't understand how he can be so positive.

It seems like the confidence might come through the witness. Perhaps he/she had an 'aha' moment when finally presented with the final product from the second sketch artist.
Just a thought.


I think "10 out of 10" is an overly confident statement in most areas of criminal investigations, unless you have finger prints, a confession, an eyewitness, and DNA evidence from a perp... but maybe the Police Chief knows more than we do here.

I just want to know... how can you have so many mugshots for sexual assault? Shouldn't he have been in jail for GOOD? His first offense was at age 18, 1988 for crying out loud!

The kidnapper might think twice about hurting her if he knows that there are literally millions watching his face all over the news and that the whole State of Michigan is going to come down on his filthy behind. (PG version) The smart thing to do would be to drop her off safely and turn himself in.

I just want to know... how can you have so many mugshots for sexual assault? Shouldn't he have been in jail for GOOD? His first offense was at age 18, 1988 for crying out loud!

His hair has been lighter and darker, shorter and longer in various mugshots. The height and age are right on. The weight is a wild card. It is reported that he was wearing a brightly colored red or orange sweatshirt. The combination of bright color and bulkiness of material could make him appear heavier from a distance.

I fear it was already too late before it became so widely known that she was missing. It so often is. Most people do not have a way to keep another adult captive and hidden.

Correct, I've found 4 mugshots online and hair different in several. One photo he had blonde dyed hair in sides and back and dark hair on top. Two tone hair

I don't know if you've heard of "geo caching" (Pr: cashing) But I'd so get some digital stills of the wooded area behind the house. GC's do this stuff all the time as a hobby. Going places others wouldn't normally go mostly state or city land. I wonder who owns it back there.

Thank you. It sounds like police are aware of this individual. According to the story below, there are 4 RSO living within a 2 mile radius of the Exxon station and 3 individuals on the list living in Norton Shores who fit the description. I guess it doesn't hurt to be safe and phone in the tip. Better to be safe and not let anything go to chance.

ETA: As far as "cashing" I wish I had a camera to show you what I saw. I can tell you this, though. The house is visible from Google Street View. Although you can't see the secluded area behind the house, you can see the garage and part of the wooden fence. If you're interested in doing that, it is the second to last home on Airport Rd before the railroad tracks on the North side of the street. It is on the section of Airport Rd that connects Grand Haven Rd to Airline Rd.

Great minds think alike!!:floorlaugh: I used this free program to give the RSO a makeover with blond hair. It is meant for girls so it turned out sort of interesting! Does resemble though! :blushing:

I have looked at the sketch and the mug shots and especially one mug shot looks very much alike! Great job JoCoKSeyes!! LE has to be looking into this. I hope she is found soon....alive!!!

Jessica Heeringa Disappearance: Witness Says Suspect 'Being Real Flirty' With Missing Mom

Police investigating the disappearance of Jessica Heeringa have now released a sketch of the man they are looking for, while an eyewitness tells ABC News that another man who approached the gas station attendant the night she vanished was "being real flirty" with her.

An employee at a store adjacent to the gas station saw the 25-year-old mother there only hours before she vanished last Friday night. The witness watched a man in a silver minivan approach Heeringa when she was at a gas pump.

"He was just like, 'Hey, what are you doing over here? Aren't you supposed to be inside?' Just kind of being real flirty, weird about it," the witness told ABC News.

"It was just bizarre that he seemed to be actively looking for her, like he knew her and then had this attitude that he wanted to have a conversation with her and then conduct business, and that is what seemed really out of place to me," he said.

If you go to the sex offender website and put in just the city of where JH was abducted you will get listing. Then look for the initials.

Once you have the name go to mugshotsworld.com and click on the state. Then you have a few choices of area and then put in his first and last name and 2 mug shots will come up. One looks very much like the sketch. Look at the hair, the eyes, eye brows, jaw.......
