It's okay. I'm not sure if there is anything in the thread that wasn't reported in the news. If I thought there were, I would go back through.

Nothing really new. Everyone got a bit excited earlier tonight (~6pm or so... I'm on Pacific time) when we heard that someone was being questioned at the PD, but then that person was released. Other than that, no real news. :(

I can see some similarities. I still believe that this individual most resembles the sketch. Other than age, I believe he also fits the general description quite well. On an unrelated note, his current address listed on the registry is within 200 feet of an elementary school. There is a place on the registry where you can submit a tip. I, along with someone else here who is local, both submitted a tip yesterday notifying them that his address is within 200 feet of a school when his probation prohibits him from living within 1,000 feet of a school. If you get a chance, I would recommend you doing the same. The more tips the better.

Good catch on the school!

I actually think the brunette guy's face and age are a closer resemblance. Hair color is a problem, though. Being a RSO I'm not sure if they can bleach their hair - least not w/o notifying a change in appearance. Not that that would stop someone who would commit this crime.

Sorry to quote myself, but I'll be darned. He lives almost exactly where I just posted the map earlier of where I'd start searching () behind Artis's sister's house but on the other side of the water....wierd.

OMG. That gives me chills. I have to tell my sister!

Too tired to think/type anymore, so off to bed with me. 'Night everyone! I hope to find good news here in the morning!

Oh, there's always stuff here not reported in the news. :) I especially learned that during Boston!

I'm not too familiar with the location on the map. I've driven on Airline Rd multiple times and on Shettler Rd a few times, but never had occasion to drive down those side roads. If I recall correctly, it seems like it is pretty remote. I would have to say that location and the Ross Park location would be the two most relevant points of interest given their seclusion, being on the water and given the direction the vehicle was traveling on Grand Haven Rd.

Just an FYI. Are you aware that you can click the link on the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) number, which is located just below the picture, from the registry profile to see the individuals criminal history? The individual you listed (PJS) doesn't have any additional sentences which gives me a little bit of pause when it comes to considering him. That and his hair color. I believe that if a RSO is responsible, he would likely have a criminal history. JMO.

ETA: A criminal history in addition to the offense that got them in the sex offender registry of course. :)

Welcome 10 Guests.

We're approaching the one week mark. :( Where are you Jessica? Gosh, she can be anywhere right now. There's just no telling where at this point. :( I think there's a strong possibility she is close by somewhere, but who knows!

I am aware, indeed, been clicking on them. I usually stay away from any specific postings relating to RSO's bc it is just too potentially damaging if they have nothing to do with it. Unfortunately, Jessica is still out there so I feel like we have to look under every rock that might make sense (geographically, description wise or otherwise) until we find her. (There is still time for Jessica, I hope...) Working with what LE is stating, implying at this time.

<respectfully snipped>

Sometimes there can be prior offenses / incidents for which they haven't been caught / charged. I wonder how often it really is their first time, especially when they have some adult years behind them.

There are two vehicles that were sighted in the surveillance footage either behind the van or in front of the van. I am hopeful that the drivers and/or passenger(s) of those vehicles see the footage and come forward. They had to have seen something, right? At the very least, the vehicle in front of the van in the second video clip released today would likely know if the van turned onto Airport Rd, or which direction the van traveled once reaching the end of Grand Haven Rd, assuming both vehicles traveled that far.

ETA: Knowing the van's route can be extremely helpful in determining a possible motive and give clues to where the it may be traveling. So far we know that the suspect isn't heading out of town. Also, there are a couple of secluded areas they could travel to, but in general they are traveling into a more populated and urban area. If we can determine that the van did not turn onto Airport Rd and merged onto Seaway Dr, there is a strong possibility that they were transporting her to their residence. If true, there may be a chance that she is still alive. I hope so at least.

I wonder if its possible the perp(s) (I'm leaning towards single perp more than likely, but who knows) saw or knew of Jessica away from her work, like a neighbor...more than likely the perp would've initially seen her via her job, but just throwing it out there anyway.

So, the perp might possibly regularly get one of the following items at the store:

cigarettes / dip (chewing tobacco)
beer
gas
snack
drink (soda, water, monster...)
lottery tickets (does Michigan have the lottery?)

Friday nights? Saturday nights? After 9pm?

What about rest stops off the freeway? Argghh. Sooooooo many places she could be.
<edit: trying to think, if assault were the motive and he took her somewhere other than his residence for this purpose, where would that initial place be? so awful to think about, hate posting such stuff>

It doesn't appear that they were heading to a freeway. Even if they did, there is only one rest stop that is relatively close. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but US 31 South turns into a 2 lane highway in Grand Haven, so there are no rest stops heading South. Heading North on US 31, I believe there is only 1 rest stop, and that is approximately 25-45 miles North. US 31 North turns into a 2 lane highway after approximately 60 miles.

As far as I-96 East, the closest rest stop is actually just outside of Fruitport. However, it is only accessible on I-96 West heading back towards Muskegon. I believe the next closest rest stop on I-96 East, which would be the first heading East, is actually in Grand Rapids approximately 35 miles away. I think it is safe to assume that she is not at any freeway rest stops.

"Homrich, 73, said her granddaughter had been working at the station for about a year and lived in Muskegon. She described Heeringa — who has a 3-year-old son — as friendly, outgoing and a collector of fairies.

Just found this case. Wow how scary! If you need another pair of eyes, I'll read and catch up. Only on page 14 of the first thread though :seeya:

That would be wonderful. The clock is ticking. I think Jessica needs all the eyes and ears she can get!

Only on page 14 of the first thread? I am overwhelmed just at the thought of having to read through the rest to catch up. :)

Welcome to the thread.
