Popped off to celebrate some great news and now I'm way behind. No time to catch up.

Any developments in the last 15 hours?

possibly the news you were hoping to get per our convo last night?? :baby:

I'd like to L@@K closely, but...........sorry my vision isn't THAT good!

It looks as if he picked them up right there. I'm confused as usual.

Why would he be holding them like that if they were delivered to LE (through reporters)??? Makes no sense. Plus that's not 20 yards inside woods.

I wonder if the FBI is going to see who pinged the cell phone tower(s) in the area before or after the abduction. (There's a straw, guys, grasp it.)

i thought about this the other day. i wondered if it would be possible to compare pings off of a tower around the time she went missing to pings off of towers along the route that the van was seen on, and compare cell phone numbers? assuming the perp had a cell phone on him, of course. i dont even know if this type of thing is possible, but one can hope!

Understood, but looking at the side by side of the found glasses and Jessica in her glasses, I saw obvious differences, primarily distinctly different color and shape.

Also, LE had more than one family member look at the glasses to try to identify them, not just one.

:cow:

I saw the same thing. They are different.

They look the same to me. The angle is different in the picture and may cause a slight optical illusion. The color may be a little off due to flash, distance, background, etc.

I'm looking at the position of the ear pieces and the outer bottom edge that leads to the bottom rim of the frame.

No, still waiting on that. I got asked to go for an interview on Monday for a pretty amazing job with a company I have always wanted to work for. I'm an absolute wreck waiting for Monday. So nervous.

the 60 yo man is not the same one they questioned for 6 hours and has not yet been cleared. they pulled in 2 POI's yesterday.

Just talked to the other half and we both agreed that we could not identify each others glasses. I could, however identify my son's glasses because the arms are so bent. They could get dna off of those glasses. Why so quick to say not hers I wonder?

They may still. I haven't seen a comment from Chief Shaw saying they aren't Jessica's - just that he's happy the family doesn't believe they are hers. LE will hold onto the glasses.

My husband wears glasses and I would not recognize them if they weren't on his face.

I have a few pairs of glasses some rimless others with rims maybe Jessica had a spare pair on. I just wear whatever ones I pick up during the day when I need them.

Police are no longer conducting a search for Jessica Heeringa at Hoffmaster State Park in Muskegon.

  • #454
I think it mostly depends on IF she has more than one pair of glasses. I don't recall anything coming out from LE or her family or MSM about that.

No matter what my script is, I only have one pair of eyeglasses at a time and a prescription pair of sunglasses at a time. I have older pairs but they are out of script and pretty much useless to me.

Good questions! Personally, I believe the perp was stalking several gas stations and several girls. He took Jessica because his 'stars' aligned so to speak. She was alone, there were no other customers, etc.

I thought about a smoke break... but very early on in this thread someone pointed out that the cash drawer was 'out'. This would eliminate a smoke break as Jessica wouldn't leave the cash drawer out in that case. I think her leaving the cash would signify a quick exit. Perhaps the perp came rushing in with some 'emergency' out back.

I hadn't heard the lights in the back of the store were 'off'. Is that in an early news report?

BBM: Great point.

Has LE gone to other gas stations in Norton Shores looking for surveillance video from that night, and interviewing THOSE employees?

One additional thing I find interesting about the glasses is that LE are looking for them.
Knowing that Jessica's purse, cell phone, and car were left behind at the store tells us that her glasses were not and she was likely wearing them at the time of the abduction. Does she wear the glasses full time, part time or just for reading?

The problem is the chief doesent have 4 hours to take the glasses in and get them checked by Jessicas doctor. He would not be available for press confrences and updates to websleuthes and others. He cant use the helicopter pilot that would really slow the search down. He cant use the K9 officers for the same reason. The case has to slow way down for him to have men todo this. I suggested earlier that the FBI could help and should

I'm still thinking this person knew there were no cameras and waited until end of shift. I don't think this was a crime of opportunity but a crime of obsession. I hope that police are looking at credit/debit card transactions that occur more frequently than others - especially when Jessica worked - and then comparing them to DMV records for face/vehicle similarities.

BBM: I tend to agree with you, although I haven't ruled out completely random.

If Jessica did not normally work Friday nights, the perp must have been driving by and noticed she was working, or just happened to go there that night, and started to formulate his plan.

We know he was there at least 2 hours prior to the abduction. Did he stay near the gas station the whole time?

Did he watch the various men engage in conversation with Jessica?

Did he drive around to other gas stations or places looking for a victim, and decide to go back near close?

Why not wait until Jessica went to her car to leave for the night???

I read that, without her glasses, Jessica has a lazy eye. It makes sense then that she'd wear them while working. Plus her car was at the gas station, so she planned to drive home.

What previous case? I read a brief mention of this on Sunday I think.
