I'm taking this in two parts.
No one knows an exact time, just that it was between customers.
*Male customer/witness says he saw the van but only heard the guy somewhere about 9pm (IIRC)

*Passerby/Co worker says "I saw a guy in a van leave (when they were in a different parking lot) and this is what he looked like."

Is there a different witness and I have those two statements combined? Or is that about it? (my mind's kinda foggy..it's been a long day)

*Then the 911 call with no clerk to attend the station.

*The time-stamp on the first video which showed the van was wrong (the grainy one). So who knows what time it actually passed by. (For all we know it could have stopped somewhere in between? My opinion)

*The second video was of better quality and the time stamp was right.

Second part.

When I lived in Detroit and even in the suburbs, you could barely look a person in the eye and wave without them thinking you're a freak. People there are so busy with their own lives that everyone else's are "none of their concern." It may not be like that everywhere in Michigan. But I remember getting a hefty "screw-off" when I was just trying to help a lady load bags into her car at the grocery store. (She looked at me as if I were crazy.) Unfortunately, we live in this world of people that are out for number one. I'm just glad I have awesome people here to make up for that. And for Jessica. I hope it neutralizes it and we can get down to business. JMHO

Well, I live in South Mississippi now, and people here wave at strangers all the time. We look people in the eye. It was that way in Northern Michigan, as well. Detroit is it's own surreal 3rd world country. I suppose most big cities are hustle and bustle, dog eat dog. But not the Muskegon area. It's small town.

Early in this case, many of us were certain that LE had much more information about Jessica's disappearance than they were letting out to the media. I no longer espouse this notion and feel that NSPD has plenty of nothing. I think that they've had tunnel vision regarding the silver minivan as the perp's vehicle and, later, too much confidence in the witness' description and subsequent sketch of the alleged abductor. The reluctance to conduct ground searches or contact a reputable search organization (TES) speaks to stubbornness and unwillingness to conduct a proper and thorough investigation. If I were Jessica's family, I would be :furious: with the lack of urgency by NSPD to find the young mother who will have been missing for seven weeks tonight. :moo:

I couldn't agree more! Ill be absolutely sickened if she's found nearby.

What's always kinda irked me is that their (LE's) willingness to believe that she's still on this Earth. What makes them so sure? Do they have some "ace in the hole" ransom note or received phone calls supporting it?
Trust me, I don't want to believe she's deceased anymore than anyone else. I just want the proof of WHY they seem so sure she's alive? Does that make sense?

I wonder if their thinking is like LE in the Kyron Horman case, as they have said in the beginning that they don't have any "proof" that Kyron is deceased, so they believe him to be alive. It has been over 3 years for Kyron and he still has not been found.I don't know if they still feel this way, though....

With the belief that someone is alive, there is always "hope". This thinking of hope, is more so for the families, I think, because if there is no hope, then they give up. So hanging on to hope helps them cope.

With LE maybe they need proof? In My Opinion Only.....

Of course, there's always hope. I think about her every night. Hoping that she's found. It's just so discouraging that they refuse to do ground searches and act like whomever took her obviously isn't in the area. If this were my sister, I'd bang down everyones door in the tri-county area. Check every barn and ditch. There'd be no one stopping me. Not even LE. JMO

IMO, it is just something LE always says, often while diving in rivers. :(
Maybe they are trained to believe people will lose interest if it is believed the victim is not alive.

sorry if this was covered, but where have i seen the face of the possible perp at?! he reminds of another case w/ a drawing (not an actual photo or anything, just similar drawing)

the long nose and close-set eyes

all I got was that a silver/gray minivan possibly 2004-2007(?) Town and Country is still the focus, no one has been able to track down who exactly gave the perp's description for the poster that's out there, her fiance is heartbroken and yup that's about it

O and the owner of the gas station wants to sue reporter and cameraman for being on his property. That guy's reaction to being asked questions about Jessica is very weird to me.

that was very odd! hopefully someone can upload a link for that later --- he was very irritated, angry, and felt "bothered" which is such a weird reaction from someone who has nothing (as far as we know) to do w/ this, except hiring jessica.

I would start looking into his acquaintances if i were LE (although they might be doing this).

My mom has worked at a gas station for 20 years, no cameras, no security system --- they are expensive for small time businesses in low-crime areas.
