Greetings from beautiful, magical Mackinac Island. I tried to post yesterday before we went to dinner but lost the post in cyberspace. Today we'll go for a long walk and explore parts of the island that we haven't seen before. Later this afternoon, we'll walk into town and have dinner at one of the old hotels on the island. It will be dark after dinner, so we'll take a "taxi" back to the condo. If you've never visited Mackinac Island, there are no motorized vehicles, so a "taxi" is a horse drawn carriage. The ride back to the condo where we're staying will take about 45 minutes.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I know that I will!

Off Topic:
I was there in the fall of 1985 and the fudge at one of the stores was amazing. So amazing I still remember it after all these years.
Being on the Mackinac Bridge was an experience, too!
Have fun, BDE!
:)

TES often searched the same area over and over again eventually finding a missing person. My suggestion is to search p j hoffmister state park a second time. It is in the abductors awarness space and there have been several unusual occurances there.Shooting sounds, glasses found silver mini van observed. Even one of these events would merit a second search.

There is a little shop here that is dedicated to the film. They sell all kinds of SIT memorabilia - mugs, notecards, tee-shirts, etc. The Grand Hotel has a "Somewhere In Time" weekend every fall. Guests wear Victorian attire, hair styles, etc., and the movie is shown repeatedly throughout the long weekend. There is a plague on the grassy area of the island along the lake that marks the spot where Jane Seymour and Christopher Reeve do one of the romantic scenes in the movie.

We had a lovely dinner at the Island House Hotel last night and shared the taxi to the condos with two ladies from Indiana who were going to watch an outdoor movie at nearby Inn at Stonecliffe and a couple from Chicago who were checking in to the condos. It was a fun ride :D

It rained overnight but is clearing up and will be another beautiful island day. Enjoy your day!

Where are you Miss Jessica?
Thinking about you on this Sunday afternoon......
Thinking about what you would be doing with your son, going to the park,
or reading a story to him, etc, if you were home....

Does anyone know the make, model, costof the ground penetrating radar that tes uses? It would be handy to have one and you do not have to feed it. Mr Cox is still searching for the remains of his daughter Susan. I would recommend the radar device in place of a dog as its very hard for a dog to find old remains.

I found this helpful link for the state of Michigan for Forensics Ground Penetrating Radar.
I haven't look at cost or any of your questions yet, but looking at this link, there is also a link for Grand Rapids as well.

GPRS is nationwide. I will call the Los Angeles office monday for information. Chuck Cox is in Washington. There will be an offiice near him as well. He will also find an office in Utah where his daughter will be found. They rent out an operator and a device. Most LEdo not buy the unit.

This was posted in the Jessica Heeringa thread. Do you actually mean you want this information to find someone else, and not Jessica Heeringa? I posted the Michigan website because you posted about wanting info in the Jessica Heeringa website and she is in Michigan. Sorry that I wasn't understanding what you meant.

I was interested for me and I would use Michigan I was also Interested for chuck cox who is searching for Susan cox Powell and is thinking of buying a search dog. If the cost of these devices is more than a dog I guess you are better off with a dog. I understand the device will accurately tell the depth of the buried object.

Jessica went missing on April 26 and has now been missing for 4 months. Where is this young woman? Is anyone looking for Jessica? I realize that her grandparents (and others) continue to ask people to post photos of Jessica wherever they can, but is that helping to locate her? I don't think that Jessica will be found unless and until there are searches, and that should have been done months ago. :moo:

We had some wild weather "up north" overnight. We will be heading back to north-suburban Detroit at noon and should be home by 5:00PM. Enjoy your day!

The recent debate about whether the van and eyewitness sighting is legit really bothers me. Have the eyewitnesses taken polygraphs?

If the van is involved it appears they LE hasn't found any more video footage. I thought for sure that's how this case would be cracked. Blown opportunity.

Was at the DMV emmisions facility last week and noticed cameras in all the bays as you pull in. Made me think that the perp may have taken his car to one of these places within the past few years. I wonder if they take photos at these facilities or if they retain any video footage? If there is a way to filter down to all mini vans and then review each photo or video to find person resembling the sketch. Long shot, but thought I'd throw it out there for discussion. Anyone know anyone that works at one of these places? Should be on the look out.

Michigan does not require emissions testing. Good idea though, Trench.
