So did the spying manager even go in the station after the van left? Thinks she is stealing and sees a strange man messing with the back doors of the van while its backed up at the Backdoor, but at the end of it all doesn't think anything is going on??? Why not? I'm not buying this story.

Nope! According to her, they just drove on home.

Ok I am confused.

Is this manager the sister of the married BF?

  • #563
I'm checking to see how far we can go in discussing witnesses, etc.

Since we have no suspects at this time, we are limited as to what we can discuss.

Will let you all know after I find out.

So JA is married. See I've always had this gut feeling that this has had something to do with a jealous girlfriend or something. I honestly have. Not saying it JA's wife or anything but I just have always felt this is a jealous grudge of some kind.

It could very well be.
but we have 2 significant others in the pic.

there sure are a lot of players in this drama.

I'm confused... is the 'reported boyfriend' her fiance'? or are they saying she had a boyfriend as well and her fiance'? or is this an ex? or 3 different people?

Yeah I know I've got to keep an open mind. Things are not always what they seem.

On another note I'm actually thinking these ones weren't the ones. I'm thinking more of who is connected to the witness. Kinda makes sense now what all the fuss was over the sketch at first now also.

I think LE knows its just a matter of getting something they can use in court to make the charges stand.

But I still have high hopes Jessica and her son will get the justice they deserve.

The witnesses are not suspects here, nor has law enforcement talked about them being person's of interest. We are not going to discuss them in a suspect manner.

Anything from facebook is considered rumor here and we certainly are not going to discuss what facebook has said about the witnesses.

I am checking to see how far we can go in discussing the witnesses and will let you all know when I get some clarification on this.

Im thinking its three different people. I've only ever heard of her sons father. Then just recently have learned of the other two. But that's just what I'm picking up on. Not 100% sure.

Police Make New Appeal For Tips In Disappearance Of Jessica Heeringa, Release Updated Timeline

April 24, 2014 6:55 AM

NORTON SHORES (WWJ) - Police investigating the disappearance of a 25-year-old mother from her job at a western Michigan gas station nearly a year ago are issuing a fresh appeal for tips in the case.

Norton Shores police Chief Dan Shaw issued a statement Thursday on the search for Jessica Heeringa, saying efforts to find her continue.

“We have not received or discovered the necessary information leading us to Jessica or her abductor,” Shaw said, despite a year of “intensive investigation” by 15 local, state and federal agencies.

Heeringa disappeared April 26, 2013 before she was set to close the Exxon gas station on Sternberg Road in Norton Shores. Police said there was no indication of a robbery, as Heeringa’s purse, vehicle and other items were left behind at the scene, including hundreds of dollars in cash. DNA testing showed a small amount of blood found outside the gas station belonged to Heeringa...

NORTON SHORES, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities have received a lot of tips into the case of missing Norton Shores mother Jessica Heeringa, but still no one knows what led up to her disappearance.

Heeringa’s family hired private investigator Ken Cote to work on the case, in addition to police efforts.

Cote told 24 Hour News 8 he is disappointed with the Norton Shores Police Department and how they have dealt with tips...

I think the vendetta thing..and the whole GUILT thing. If I have any advice for LE and Media outlets :KEEP JESSICAS NAME OUT THERE! Show Zevyn's face all over the place! MOO

How would that person feel if it were THEIR Kid without a Mom? Their family torn apart? Wouldn't they want someone to just speak up? Yea, so telling the truth might come with consequences..but doesn't everything? If they had no criminal history in the past..if they know what happened to Jessica..they should just come forward. Especially if they know what it's like to lose someone or have someone walk out. It's just not fair to keep this secret to themselves. They'll feel A LOT better for getting it off their chest. And there's ALWAYS room for forgiveness. MOO

Her family doesn't want Zevyn's face being shown.

This is wow... More info than I have seen yet. I don't recall a measurement of the blood found before now. 2"x3" is more than a couple of drops which is what I have thought it was up until now.
The witnesses too. Didn't realize it was a manager and she thought Jessica might be stealing so that is why they watched? What!?

They think she's stealing? Um ok. They watch the van & follow it but neither remembers the plate? Really? Um; why haven't they been hypnotized?

Curious why Jessica would have to shut off the back light to have a smoke? I go by the station a lot and unless you were at the car wash... I dont think you could see. To me would look weirder to turn off the light... smoke for a few min... turn the light back on...

I also wonder WHY Jessicas friends would need to come in the back door to visit with her. It is a store. People come on in the front and nothing would look suspicious at all. They could stand around and chat... if a customer came in, they could just stop visiting for a few... no reason to hide in the back room.

I suspect there is more to the story- stealing? Or did they suspect she was dealing drugs?

Why would the cash drawer be in the back? Unless she took it there to keep an eye on it when she was in the back room?

The only thing I can think of is that if the lights are on, then possibly she could not see who was walking up or driving up......kinda like at night if you have your living room lights on and you were in the living room, you can't see out the window to your yard, but people can see into your home.
As for the back door......maybe it was just more privacy away from customers, esp. if something was going on, that shouldn't be.....perhaps drinking in the back, or something like that....

From my post #545, I gathered the info from Jess Ammerman in the WoodTV8 Youtube video, that he drove past the station and saw the cop cars, and in the article, that was just released, the manager told the cops that Jessica's "reported" boyfriend drove by, so the cops called him to the station.
So, it looks to be that JA is her reported boyfriend, or One of her reported boyfriends.

I'm sure that smoking would not be allowed anywhere near gas pumps, and probably not indoors, either. If employees wanted to smoke, they had to step outside the back door. :moo:

One detail that I'd like to know is the name of the employee for whom Jessica was reportedly working that night. Was it the manager or someone else? It has always seemed more than a little coincidental that Jessica was working a shift that she didn't usually have and just happened to go missing that night. :waitasec:

Her family doesn't want Zevyn's face being shown.

I can understand that and respect their wishes.

We don't know who took Jessica. I have a good idea but I could be wrong and it could be a stranger who might go after Zevyn. That would be my biggest fear if I was her family. Also I seen it mentioned that the dad wasn't letting her family take him and if they wanted to see him they could come and just see him. He got bashed for it on another site. And I could t figure out why!

I could so understand that. If it were me there would be no way my child would be going any where with anyone until I new who took Jessica and why.

I can't believe Jessica has been missing for almost a year.

Things looked like they might wrap up quickly when the case first broke- there was a vehicle of interest, a sketch, and a person brought in for questioning. Then nothing.

I'm starting to wonder if the vehicle of interest was not involved at all although a witness mistakenly thought it could be or maybe even a red herring.

Very true, that smoking near pumps is a hazard.
But on that note, seeing as the money was already counted down a half hour ahead of time, then either rules are relaxed at the station, or not adhered to... or maybe Jessica was leaving at 11PM and she was going to have someone fill in the last half hour for her??
If rules were not adhered to, I would think there could be smokers that might smoke near the building but not near the pumps, but perhaps not near the back door either.
Adhering to one rule about smoking only in the back and then counting the money half an hour early, is not congruent to me....Maybe that Is how they roll, but all the retail jobs I had, I could not count the money a half hour early, and I am not a smoker, so I don't know about smoking rules, except about not smoking in close proximity of pumps, that I do know.

Strange to say the least.
to me it was an excuse as to why they were there in the first place

As Imamaze has said - the witnesses are not POIs/suspects and they can't be talked about in that manner. You can discuss what was reported in MSM, you can compare and contrast MSM info and point out where things don't line up, but you cannot accuse or insinuate that a non-named person is a POI/suspect/perp.

Hope that helps and if you have any questions, please contact a mod.
