I'm pretty sure I posted before that I had heard Jess & Dakotah (known as "the fiance'") weren't together as a couple; but Shelly says it right in the beginning of the video.

0:18 in - She was a single mother raising a 3 year old son. She had dreams of going back to college..

1:03 they found her cigarettes & lighter... I had heard she smoked a few packs a day

1:18 info about the Town & Country minivan

Is she from the same area as JH?

No, AH was in Conway, NH. I was just using her as an example, that we can not certainly and positively assume a kidnap victim is deceased, or at least I can't (while of course it is very likely).

O/T:

I was just watching a show today on ID...it was a story about 2 clerks who were abducted while working at a convenience store. The motive appeared to be sexual assault. They were both driven to a remote location in the woods, shot and left for dead but survived (another victim died though). The 2 perps were executed on death row.

Looks like Wood TV is running a segment on their 11:00 news tonight about the guy from Kalamazoo. Sounds interesting but past my bedtime. ;-)

New article about this just got an email alert. Thanks for posting mommylicious. Just posing additional info from link provided above

"GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) -- More than two years after Jessica Heeringa disappeared from a Norton Shores gas station, one name keeps popping up: Brad Mason.

Police were arresting him for a brutal abduction and rape in Kalamazoo when they shot and killed him in 2014. Now in death, he remains a person of interest in Heeringa’s disappearance."

Are we to believe Mason has evolved to the type to keep Jessica, then devolved on his next victim, letting her go? Sounds like a nice neat little package they can sell. I am doubtful it was anyone but the key players that admit many stops into the Exxon that night.

How many of you have heard of or watched "DISAPPEARED" on Investigation Discovery? Hit the like button if you have. I was contacted by the producer of the show. Such promising news that Jessica might be featured on Disappeared as a number of the cases featured on the show have been resolved. I have had some unanswered questions about her disappearance that I think could be keys to solving her case. I have been hoping that she would be featured on some major tv outlet as from what I have seen lately, coverage on her seems to be waning.

Why was the back door of the store open? Was she perhaps taking out the garbage towards the end of the night and accosted at the dumpster by a stranger and then spirited away in the mysterious van? Or, was she perhaps taking a smoke break with an acquaintance/customer/etc when her companion decided to take advantage of the situation.

I feel a strong connection to Jessica as we share the same name and age. And as a female who has had to work a night shift solo, I know I was wary and have had some creepy experiences that could have turned out much worse. I hope she is found soon.

From the above link:

"Police also point out Mason's connection to Muskegon: In 2011, he was paroled to a halfway house a few miles down the highway from the Exxon Mobil gas station where Heeringa worked and was last seen on the night of April 26, 2013.

"Maybe he was here that night, saw Jessica outside and he took an opportunity," Norton Shores Police Lt. Michael Kasher said. "Obviously, he had an impulse he couldn't control, and he was a brutal, brutal individual, rapist.""

I don't know, I'm not sold on this POI. When somebody who held an active grudge against a victim is the one to describe their alleged abductor, in a way that makes little to no sense, well, that would be terrible if it were the case. I hope Jessica's story will be brought out to full light very soon.

There was an incident in Charleston, West Virginia last weekend where a woman killed Neal Falls in self defense while he tried to strangle her.

Neal Falls is from Oregon. LE authorities in Ohio and other states are looking at Neal Falls in connection with other women that have disappeared and he is being looked at as a possible serial killer.

At one point in time, Neal Falls had lived in Butler, Indiana.

A check with Google Maps revealed that it is 195 miles and a 3 hour drive from Butler, Indiana to Norton Shores, Michigan via Interstate 69 and US 131.

Neal Falls owned a Subaru Forester and West Virginia LE authorities found handcuffs, bleach, bulletproof vests, cutting instruments, and firearms in his SUV vehicle after he was killed.

I thought of Jessica's case as soon as I saw a picture of his SUV which looks more like a grey van to me. There is a picture of it in this link.

I thought of many missing persons cases ,but this one (like others) do not fit this perp's MO. He wanted to abduct women who were on the fringes and might not be missed or investigated (at least right away). Jessica was taken from her workplace, so would be discovered right away. She doesn't fit the 'type' that he sought either.

IMOO.

I was thinking about her today. I am originally from Norton Shores and am very familiar with the area that she went missing from and it breaks my heart. I hope she is found soon, so she has some peace <3 I used to work at a gas station alone at night and so glad I don't anymore.

Oh also, if anyone needs info on the area let me know. I know it's an older case and I am a newbie, but that is at least one thing I can do to help!
