I don't think they thought that anything was wrong with Jessica, I think they thought she was helping someone steal from the station. They really didn't have proof of anything to call police but they thought something had gone on.

Just as troubling , they could have called to report the van leaving possibly with merchandise , or an employee pilfering . Or went back to the store and checked up on it weather or not they were going to confront her .

Then you receive a call that she's gone ? Light bulb goes off you watched her abduction and you send a shift manager because they live closer ? I'm with Freddy . Very troubling, non typical behavior . Not insinuating they were involved in anyway , but a little less careless may have saved her or at least identified the suspect .

I believe the shift manager was also the witness. Her and her husband. I do believe she was also the manager that the owner sent to the store to speak with the police.

Also, a lot of you seem confused about what a counted down drawer is. When someone counts their cash drawer a half hour early, it just simple means the money has been counted and recored on a piece of paper, and you can just record and add the last few purchases to that. It does not mean the money was removed from the drawer and place in a safe, but it does make it easy to get out of there faster once the store was closed.

The money was in the drawer, and the drawer was slightly open, according to discovery id. This leaves me to believe that someone was entering the store with a mask on. Jessica could have thought she was about to be robbed, and therefore began opening the drawer in an attempt to hand the money over to the perp.

Also, the witness said the perp had wavy crazy hair. This would be consistent with someone who just pulled a mask off their head.

Kevin Bluhm Jeffrey Willis's cousin has pleaded GUILTY to lying about Jessica's disappearance.

"A 47-year-old western Michigan man has pleaded guilty to lying to police about the disappearance of a gas station clerk."

http://www.freep.com/story/news/loc...2013-jessica-heeringa-disappearance/89419050/

The article doesn't state it but the video on that link says he gets sentenced next month and his sentence will probably be time served with no further incarceration.

I would like to know if i got the wrong idea after seeing the Disappeared episode or what ...It seems to me that the owners of the store thinking something was weird and going by the show on I.D. Why the heck didn't they get the licens plate number of that grey van it certainly seems like they were dam close enough to do so and they stated pulling up to the lot they were suspicious of this guy closing the back door so if your that close take down the darn plate number,,I just don;t get it ..
One thing to consider is that cars here in Michigan don't have front license plates, so to get a car's plate you have to get a good look at the back of the car. Unless you have an eccellent memory, you also have to have something to write with and something to write on.
I personally think the cops have their man, but they'll need a body in order to charge him. (They don't technically need one here in Michigan, but the odds of getting a conviction without one are small enough that most DA's won't bother to try.)

UPDATE: The crime unit is searching Jeffery Willis' fathers house again! Why would they do that unless there are reasons to go back with better forensic tools. Her name was for sure in the file on his computer labeled "vics", what if that file had a date code like Rebeccas and they aren't saying?!?! I'm from that area, I would love nothing more than to have them find her and nail his 🤬🤬🤬 to the wall.

"Norton Shores police once again searched a property connected to a person of interest in the Jessica Heeringa abduction case.
Officers spent hours Thursday combing the garage and house once owned by Jeffrey Willis’ grandfather. The Michigan State Police mobile crime lab was parked outside the home, located in the 300 block of Bailey Street in Norton Shores."

I can't help but wonder if there is some truth behind the lies.........

(edited to add: regarding seeing her tied up in basement)

I'm so angry at what this cousin has done to make statements about Jessica's disappearance and then claim they are lies is absolutely disgusting. Why do this to Jessica's distraught family? It's just inhumane he needs to start telling the truth and under oath with severe punishment for any lies.

If he saw her tied up & didn't do anything about it, I say charge him as an accessory to murder.

I think he saw her and he lied when he said he lied. Why else would he have said it to begin with? He's guilty too and knows better due o his job. I agree, he should be charged too. I think that's why he changed his story cause he knew how serious it was gonna turn for him.

I feel bad for his innocent family

Now this just out, confirms original statement of Jessica's name/Initials found on Willis's computer, under the file "Vics", along with RSB (Rebekah Sue Bletsch.).

To me, this solidifies the connection of Willis to the murder.

I agree with you you're not going to have a missing lady's name on your computer under a VICS folder if you are innocent and had nothing to do with her disappearance. I just feel so bad for Jessica's family that she was working in that gas station and encountered this monster. I can't believe there are no significant developments about what he may have done to her. This guy is a better criminal than I gave him credit for I just hope the police catch a break and find where he has put remains. He isn't going to talk as for the cousin I'm disgusted with his behaviour too. Jessica and her family continue to be in my prayers.

From your link roncore:

Muskegon County Prosecutor DJ Hilson announced Tuesday morning that he will be holding a press conference at 11:45 a.m. to give an update on the Jessica Heeringa investigation.

The press conference is scheduled just hours before Kevin Bluhm is expected to be sentenced for two charges of lying to police.

This should be the live stream link:
